You’ve finally made it to Mount Soulrend. Phantom Blade Zero’s endgame is here—but before you sprint toward the summit, there’s still some unfinished business worth handling. Cui’s family quest, Memory Flower fragments, and your final pre-boss checklist all deserve a quick pit stop.
Spoiler warning: This guide covers endgame bosses, side-quest outcomes, and true-ending preparation.

01How to Reach Mount Soulrend in Phantom Blade Zero
The entrance to Mount Soulrend is behind the Mourning Hall in Mirage Estate. You’ll need the Tiger Cannon to clear the way.
Hit a wall? Literally? Check your gear before assuming you missed a secret passage.
Here’s how to open the route:
- Progress through Mirage Estate and defeat Lei Dang.
- Obtain the Tiger Cannon Phantom Edge.
- Move through Lei Dang’s arena and head to the far end of the Mourning Hall corridor.
- Use the Tiger Cannon to destroy the rocks and breakable wall blocking your path.
- Follow the newly opened passage into the snowy mountain route.
Already have the Tiger Cannon but still can’t find the exit? Head back to the end of the Mourning Hall corridor and check the blocked passage.
02Mount Soulrend Walkthrough: Where to Go Next
Your main route looks like this:
Mountain God Temple → The Last Mandate Encampment → The Crusher and the Saw → Final preparation point → Soulrend Cliff.
The route is fairly straightforward, but don’t autopilot past the chests, NPC conversations, and post-boss interactions. The camp, especially, deserves more than a drive-by.
1. Mountain God Temple: Activate the Bell and Grab the Chest
Follow the mountain trail to Mountain God Temple. Once you activate the Bell, check the nearby chest before heading farther uphill.
The chest beside the Bell contains the Craftsman’s Tool Kit, a Soul Tempering material for the Bonesaw.
Don’t have the weapon yet? No problem. Grab the material now and save yourself a return trip later. Future you will appreciate it.
2. The Last Mandate Encampment: Find Cui’s Parents First
When you reach The Last Mandate Encampment, hold off on rushing the next boss. Cui’s quest still needs your attention.
Head west from the Bell into the wooden fenced area. Look for a man beside a woman near a box—this is the key location for advancing Cui’s family storyline.
If you’ve completed the earlier quest steps and obtained Cui’s red hair ribbon and Lu Sanqian’s letter, you can continue the story here.
Do this conversation before fighting the Crusher and the Saw. Seriously, make this your first stop.
3. Defeat the Crusher and the Saw, Then Finish the Conversation
Continue up the mountain to face the Crusher and the Saw.
Defeating them rewards you with the Bonesaw. If you advanced Cui’s family quest at the camp beforehand, speak with Jie Yuan after the fight to obtain the Baishan Headband and wrap up this storyline.
The order matters:
Deliver the quest items → Defeat the bosses → Complete the post-fight conversation.
Once the fight ends, resist the urge to sprint off. There’s still one last conversation—and a reward—to collect.
For the fight itself, try to keep both enemies on-screen and punish openings between their attacks. When possible, focus one down to reduce the pressure. Adjust your approach to your weapon and difficulty, and don’t get greedy for that extra hit. That’s how a clean run turns into another loading screen.
03Mount Soulrend Collectibles: Memory Flowers & Important Materials
Your main collection targets here are Memory Flower fragments, Soul Tempering materials, and boss rewards.
As you follow the story route, check beneath wooden platforms, around ice caves, and along both sides of the trail. The objective marker can wait a second.
Memory Flower Locations at a Glance
Finding one fragment doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve completed the whole flower. Check whether the full memory set is finished before calling it a day.

Spectral Blade’s Follow-Up: Collect the Statue of the Loyal Hero
If you completed the Friendly Shadow Warden’s earlier Primal Stone questline, you can find Spectral Blade on Mount Soulrend, trigger the follow-up scene, and obtain the Statue of the Loyal Hero Soul Tempering material.
This reward depends on your earlier quest progress. Simply reaching the mountain won’t drop it into your inventory.
As you approach the camp area, listen for fighting and watch for a route leading upward.
04Mount Soulrend’s Point of No Return: Check Before You Commit
Past the final progression warning, travel and free exploration become temporarily unavailable until you complete the ending.
Before confirming, create a separate manual save and run through this checklist:
- Have you completed Cui’s parents’ conversation and the post-boss follow-up?
- Have you collected Spectral Blade’s quest reward?
- Did you grab the Memory Flower fragments and the Mountain God Temple chest?
- Are your true-ending quests complete?
- Are your weapons, Phantom Edges, and healing resources ready?
- Also, seeing the final warning does not automatically mean you missed a true-ending requirement.
Treat it as your last gear check, not an instant “you messed up” notification.
05How to Prepare for the True Ending
Want the full endgame experience? Your earlier quests matter just as much as the climb itself.
Guides commonly highlight Secrets at the Heart of the Lake and Bloodline Awakening, which involves completing all five Long Pillar challenges. The Crystal Puppet Eyes, masks, and repaired Illusory Pipa tie into those earlier exploration and quest chains.
Basically, don’t reach the summit and suddenly remember a whole questline sitting unfinished in your journal.
Here’s a practical order:
- Before entering Mirage Estate: Complete the available purple-icon quests and their connected exploration objectives.
- After entering Mirage Estate: Finish the final Long Pillar challenge and check that Bloodline Awakening is complete.
- Before Mount Soulrend’s final encounter: Review your journal again and wrap up the side quests you want to finish.
- It’s also worth clearing Quickhand Zhang’s remaining requests before committing to the finale.
06FAQ
Why Can’t I Open the Mount Soulrend Entrance?
Make sure you’ve defeated Lei Dang and obtained the Tiger Cannon. Then return to the end of the Mourning Hall corridor in Mirage Estate and use it to destroy the obstruction.
Where Are Cui’s Parents?
They’re in the wooden fenced area west of The Last Mandate Encampment Bell. Progress the earlier family quest first, then speak with them before fighting the Crusher and the Saw.
Can I Return for Collectibles After Finishing Mount Soulrend?
You can return for collectibles and other content that remains available after the ending. However, missed time-sensitive quests may not be recoverable.
Keep a separate pre-finale save if you want room to adjust.
Does the Final Warning Mean I Missed the True Ending?
Not necessarily. The warning also tells you that free exploration will temporarily be locked, so it can appear even when your requirements are complete.
Check your quest progress rather than judging by the warning alone.
07Conclusion
Mount Soulrend is all about doing things in the right order. Finish your quest conversations, grab the nearby collectibles, and keep a backup save before committing to the finale. Then you can head into the final showdown ready to lock in.
