If you like your space horror with a side of systemic chaos, RetroSpace should already be on your radar. The Wild Gentlemen is developing it, Kwalee is publishing it, and the official store pages have finally given us a real launch date. No vague “coming soon” banner. No endless delay loop. Just a date, a time, and a nice big question mark where the price should be.

Here’s the clean version of everything confirmed so far.

RetroSpace Release Date and Global Unlock Times

RetroSpace releases on October 1, 2026. The Steam official store confirms that date, and it also shows the game has not unlocked yet. Steam is also hosting a separate free RetroSpace Demo.

The PlayStation Store gives us something even more useful: a specific global unlock time. According to the official PlayStation page, RetroSpace goes live on October 1, 2026 at 15:00 UTC.

Here’s how that shakes out across major regions:

US East Coast, EDT

October 1 at 11:00 AM

US West Coast, PDT

October 1 at 8:00 AM

United Kingdom, BST

October 1 at 4:00 PM

France / Germany / Spain, CEST

October 1 at 5:00 PM

Singapore / Hong Kong, SGT / HKT

October 1 at 11:00 PM

Japan, JST

October 2 at 12:00 AM

One important note: this schedule comes from the official PlayStation time of 15:00 UTC. It is not a separate Steam global time zone chart. PlayStation store pages for the UK, France, Germany, and Spain also use the same UTC time. There is no official “one image global launch map,” so this guide is not dressing up a third party graphic as official material.

RetroSpace Price: What We Know So Far

As of September 30, 2026, Steam still shows RetroSpace as not officially released, and the page has not posted a final purchase price.

That means the confirmed official price situation is simple:

  • USD price: not announced.
  • Euro price: not announced.

If you saw a number floating around somewhere else, do not treat it as the final Steam price. Until the official store page goes live with a price, the only safe answer is that the final USD and Euro pricing will be confirmed when RetroSpace launches. Check the official store page on release day.

RetroSpace Edition Comparison

As of now, the Steam official store does not list a Deluxe Edition, Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, or any similar special version. The current store setup is the base game, plus a separate free RetroSpace Demo.

The Demo has its own Steam page, and that page says the demo launched on June 11, 2026.

So there is no standard vs deluxe comparison to make right now. The precise wording matters here: the official store has not listed a special edition at this time. That is not an absolute claim that only one version can ever exist. If a Deluxe Edition or another version appears later, the store page will be the source of truth.

For now, you get the base game and a free demo to test the vibe.

RetroSpace Gameplay and Setting

RetroSpace is a space horror immersive sim. The story takes place on the Aurora 5 space station, which has been swallowed by a conscious black hole. You play as an ordinary cleaner. Not a soldier. Not a chosen one. A cleaner, stuck on a station full of mutated creatures, strange time anomalies, and dangerous systems, trying to find a way out.

The game pushes multiple solutions. You can sneak, hack, create distractions, lure enemies into traps, use the environment and station systems, or just fight. The official positioning is immersive sim, with a heavy focus on systems interacting with each other.

There is also the Mutamods™ system. These mutation abilities can boost stealth, combat, exploration, and movement, but some upgrades come with side effects. Aurora 5 is an interconnected station with hidden areas, shortcuts, and different routes.

Death is part of the machine too. When you die, you continue through cloning, try to recover gear from your previous body, and deal with the consequences of repeated resurrections. That alone makes RetroSpace sound like the kind of game where every bad decision leaves a mark.

RetroSpace System Requirements

RetroSpace on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2

RetroSpace is confirmed for consoles.

The development team announced in a Steam official developer notice that the game is coming to PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.

The PlayStation official store page confirms the PS5 version. It lists the release time as October 1, 2026 at 15:00 UTC, and it says the game supports solo and offline play.

The Xbox official store confirms Xbox Series X|S support. It is marked as Optimised for Xbox Series X|S and supports solo play, Xbox achievements, and cloud saves.

The Nintendo Hong Kong official release schedule lists RetroSpace as a download version. That gives the Switch 2 version official confirmation through Nintendo’s own channel.

At this time, there are no official CPU, GPU, or memory specs for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Switch 2 versions. So this guide is not going to invent console hardware requirements.

Conclusion

RetroSpace launches on October 1, 2026. The PlayStation official unlock time is 15:00 UTC, and Steam still hasn’t posted a final price. There’s no special edition listed right now, just the base game and a free demo. PC specs are reasonable, consoles are confirmed, and Steam Deck status is still unknown. Check the store page on launch day for the final price.
