Arena Breakout: Season 7 Utopia Drops September 16

Alright operators, the wait is over. Season 7: Utopia lands on September 16, and Morefun isn't holding back. We're getting two full zombie modes, a long-overdue gear restriction system, new weapons, season-exclusive attachments, and a free upgradable melee weapon just for logging in. If you've been on the fence about coming back, or you're trying to figure out how to prep your stash, this is everything you need to know — what's actually worth your time, and what to avoid.

 

Zombie Modes

The headline of Season 7 is the biohazard theme, but Morefun smartly split it into two distinct experiences instead of one half-baked reskin.

• Infected Zone (PvPvE): is for players who want maximum tension. You're dropping into Farm, Valley, and Airport with both zombies and other operators hunting you. Six different zombie types roam these maps, and the environment itself shifts — darker lighting, rain, fog — visibility gets absolutely gutted, and your usual holding angles may not work anymore.

Difficulty is tiered: Valley runs at standard Infected Zone (Lockdown-tier), while Farm and Airport are Heavy Infected Zone (Forbidden-tier). If you want the highest loot ceiling, Farm and Airport are where you go — and where the fights will be the nastiest.

The critical mechanic here: gunfire and explosions attract hordes. Pop off a mag at an AI or a player, and you might pull an entire wave down on your head. Every engagement now comes with a cost-benefit calculation. There's also a new in-raid merchant system that lets you trade miscellaneous items for high-value loot or intel mid-match — a first for ABI's in-raid economy.

• Zombie Endless (PvE) is the pure co-op power fantasy. No enemy players. Just you, your squad, and escalating waves of undead on Airport. It unlocks at Level 8, making it one of the most beginner-accessible modes ABI has ever shipped. Zombies get stronger over time, and you upgrade weapons and skills during the run using a merit system. Points you earn feed into a Zombie Research progression line outside of raids, unlocking permanent perks for future runs.

 

Gear Caps

This is, in my opinion, the single most impactful change in Season 7 for everyday players.

Remember getting rolled in Normal mode by a full T5/T6 squad running top-tier ammo while you had a budget kit? That's over. Here's the new structure:

Normal	Tier 4 and below
Lockdown	Tier 5 and below

This means no more T5/T6 stomping in Normal raids. Tier 4 ammo — M855A1, BP, that whole class — becomes even more central to the everyday meta. If you're sitting on a stockpile of T4, you're in good shape.

On top of that, T5/T6 armor penetration RNG has been removed. Top-tier armor duels are now deterministic instead of coin-flippy. Headshot effectiveness is increased, so precise aim gets rewarded harder. And flashlights got nerfed — the blinding-flashlight meta that's dominated Reddit complaints for months is finally addressed.

 

New Guns and Season

Two new weapons join the arsenal: A545 and AK-15SC. The A545 is a top-tier rifle that Morefun says is "on par with U191 and H416." The AK-15SC is a high-damage, close-to-mid-range option for aggressive players.

But the real story is ABI's first-ever seasonal weapon attachments — four of them:

• PCC-9 Full-Auto Kit turns the PCC-9 into a full-auto bullet hose
• M110 Two-Stage Trigger fires two rounds per trigger pull, massively boosting forgiveness
• FAL Recoil Kit stabilizes the FAL, potentially bringing it back into the meta
• MPX "Vulcan" Barrel absurd leg-shot damage, reportedly melts even heavy armor

Free Rewards

When Season 7 goes live, every player gets a free upgradable melee weapon — a biohazard-themed "Evolution Combat Shovel." It's not just a static skin; you unlock cosmetic upgrades by completing challenges and season milestones. A free progression line, essentially.

On top of that, completing seasonal missions can earn you up to 3,400 worth of free in-game currency, plus daily check-in rewards.

 

Your Account Does NOT Wipe

First, the good news: Season 7 does not wipe your stash, Koen, level, or Bonds. Only season rank and seasonal missions reset. If you're coming from Tarkov, this is a different beast — ABI (the PC version) does not run full wipes. The mobile game is a separate product and does wipe. Don't confuse them.

 

Pre-Season Checklist

You've got a few days. Here's what to do before September 16:

• Finish Season 6 seasonal missions and claim season-rank rewards: those reset. Your gear and Koen do not.
• Stock up on Tier 4 ammo: M855A1, BP-class. With Normal capped at T4, these become the everyday workhorse.
• Don't over-invest in a fixed loadout yet: four new attachments and two new rifles will reshuffle the meta. Wait two weeks.
• If you're newer, plan around Zombie Endless: it unlocks at Level 8 on Airport, it's PvE, and it's the friendliest on-ramp ABI has ever offered.
• Build a reliable PvE kit: between Zombie Endless and the existing Hostile Sector, Season 7 is heavy on player-optional content.

 

Conclusion

Season 7: Utopia is the biggest content drop since ABI's 1.0 launch. The zombie modes give PvE-focused players a real home. The gear caps finally make Normal mode about skill instead of wallet size. The seasonal attachments could resurrect guns that have been shelved for months. And the free melee weapon plus redemption code mean you get value just for showing up.
