In Arknights: Endfield, the game is shockingly generous early on and just starts throwing free weapon selectors at you like it's trying to buy your loyalty. You get one after 40 Headhunts, another free 6★ weapon box at Level 45, and on top of that, the Protocol Pass hands you yet another selector with three very specific weapons inside. Sounds great, right? Until you realize that picking the wrong one feels way worse than missing a pull.
This guide explains how each selectable weapon effects, which characters benefit the most, and how to choose efficiently using only the information. The goal is simple: fewer regrets, fewer wasted boxes, and no staring at your inventory wondering who this weapon was even for.
Level 45 Weapon Box
The Level 45 selector includes the following weapons:
Jet, White Knight Nova, Detonation Unit, Wedge and Exemplar.
All weapons in this box share one key feature:
they provide a main attribute bonus, allowing them to function reasonably well on most characters even if they are not optimal.
However, their third effects are usually conditional and determine whether the weapon truly excels on a given character.
|
Weapon |
Buff |
Function |
|
Jet |
|
This weapon performs well on elemental damage dealers, especially characters whose kits revolve around Arts damage. Characters who deal mostly physical damage gain little from the third effect, making Jet only an “okay” option for them. Overall, Jet is a universally usable polearm, but it currently shines on only a limited number of characters. |
|
White Knight Nova |
|
Increased Arts damage and additional Arts Intensity after applying Combustion or Electrification While Arts Intensity can technically benefit physical effects, the third effect requires elemental application. As a result, physical characters cannot fully utilize this weapon. It can be serviceable on some Arts-oriented characters, but several of those characters already have better or free alternatives, making White Knight Nova a situational choice rather than a priority pick. |
|
Detonation Unit |
|
This effect applies team-wide, making it particularly valuable on supportive characters that can consistently trigger Arts Bursts. It performs well on characters capable of applying repeated elemental inflictions. While some characters have stronger dedicated options, Detonation Unit remains a solid choice if those alternatives are unavailable. |
|
Wedge |
|
This weapon excels on characters who can frequently trigger Arts reactions, allowing them to stack multiple Arts damage bonuses. Certain gun users can take advantage of this effect effectively. However, the overall value of Wedge is limited by the small number of characters who can fully capitalize on its mechanics, and many of those characters also have stronger weapon options. |
|
Exemplar |
|
This weapon is specifically valuable for physical damage dealers, especially those used as main DPS units. On such characters, Exemplar can perform very well. On non-physical characters, the third effect is effectively wasted, reducing the weapon's value significantly. |
Level 45 Box Recommendation
All Level 45 weapons in Arknights: Endfield are generally decent, but none are universally dominant. Therefore, the most practical approach is to choose a weapon that fills a gap in your roster. If a character you actively use lacks a suitable weapon, selecting one that fits them is the most efficient choice. Another valid strategy is to coordinate your Level 45 weapon selection with your Battle Pass rewards to avoid overlap.
For the Level 45 weapon box, it is recommended to prioritize The Detonation Unit, a highly versatile Arts-focused support weapon suitable for a variety of team compositions. It provides strong buffs for Cryo support characters like Xaihi, increasing enemy vulnerability and boosting healing and team sustain.
If you have specific character needs, you may also consider Wedge (a lower-tier alternative for Yvonne) or J.E.T, which works well in Electric teams with characters such as Avywenna. These options are recommended only if you own the corresponding characters.
Protocol Pass( Protocol Customized) Weapon Selector
The Battle Pass selector includes:

Umbreal Torch
Type: Sword Rarity: ★★★★★★
Effect:
Whenever Combustion or Corrosion is applied to an enemy, the wielder gains Heat and Nature DMG Dealt +12.8% for 20s.
Max stacks for effects of the same name: 2. Duration of each stack is counted separately. Effect only triggers once every 0.1s.

Opus Edge Figure
Type: Arts Unit Rarity: ★★★★★★
Effect:
ATK +7.0%. When the wielder's battle skill applies Nature Infliction, other operators in the team gain Arts DMG Dealt +5.0% for 15s. For every enemy suffering from Nature Infliction applied by the said battle skill, other operators in the team gain bonus Arts DMG Dealt +2.0%, up to a max of +6.0%. Effects of the same name cannot stack.

Navigator
Type: Handcannon Rarity: ★★★★★★
Effect:
Critical Rate +5.6%. When Solidification or Corrosion is applied to enemies, the wielder gains Cryo DMG Dealt and Nature DMG Dealt +5.6%, and Critical Rate +3.2% for 15s. If this effect is triggered by the wielder, double the increase gained. Effects of the same name cannot stack.
Recommendation
Decide who you actually want to build first, and only then claim the weapon that matches that character.
This is exactly where Battle Pass weapon boxes shine. You don't need to open them the moment you get them—hold onto them and use them later, once you're certain which character you truly need the weapon for. This becomes especially important when we start talking about the free weapon selector boxes, because a weapon might look great on Ivonne on paper. However, if you already plan to obtain Ivonne's Battle Pass weapon, then picking another weapon for her from a selector is simply wasted value. In that situation, you're much better off choosing a different weapon that fills a real gap in your roster.
Conclusion
The free weapon selectors in Arknights: Endfield are designed to be flexible rather than overpowered. None of the options are strictly wrong, but efficiency comes from matching weapons to characters you actively use and planning around which signature weapons you can realistically obtain.
Choosing with roster needs in mind will always outperform chasing theoretical best-in-slot options.
And yes, free weapons are free for a reason. They're solid, they're serviceable—but if you want real damage and numbers that make bosses disappear a little too fast… well, that's where wallets enter the chat.
