Iaido Slash Spec Guide
Overview
The Iaido Slash Spec (or Iaido for short) focuses entirely on Thunder Sigils and burst damage, with its core abilities and talents built around managing and spending them efficiently. Specializing in Iaido increases your maximum Thunder Sigil cap, enhances the bonuses gained per Sigil spent, and most importantly, enables continuous chaining of Sigil Spenders during the main cooldown, Volt Surge, for explosive burst potential.
Best Skills
- Judgment Cut: Stormblade’s basic attack is primarily used by Iaido during downtime to activate Piercing Slash, one of the class’s core talent effects. You’ll mainly spam it between rotations to trigger this effect—it serves no other major purpose.
- Iaido Slash: The strongest Sigil spender, responsible for a large portion of our total damage, though limited by a 1-second cooldown. Its cast speed greatly increases when 100 Blade Intent is consumed—something you should always aim to do. The skill can evolve into Thunder Cut.
- Oblivion Combo: The strongest Sigil spender, this skill contributes a significant portion of your total damage but is limited by a 1-second cooldown. Its cast speed greatly increases when 100 Blade Intent is consumed—something you should always aim to trigger.
- Overdrive: A core skill for generating Thunder Sigils. It works in tandem with the Piercing Slash class mechanic to instantly grant 3 Thunder Sigil stacks.
- Flash Strike: A high-damage ability with a short cooldown that consumes all Thunder Sigils, increasing its damage for each one spent. It synergizes with the Dual Blade Intent and Flash Sharp Strike talents to reduce casting time and instantly restore all Thunder Sigils while Volt Surge is active.

Moonstrike Spec Guide
Overview
Despite its name, the Moonstrike Spec primarily centres around the Thundercut and Scythe Wheel abilities, which deliver most of its damage and activate key talent effects.
When properly built and played, Moonstrike excels in high-end content, offering plentiful resources to cast abilities frequently and aggressively.
Best Skills
- Judgement Cut: Only useful for Moonstrike during downtime, as it triggers one of the class’s core talent effects, Piercing Slash. You’ll mainly spam it between rotations for this effect—nothing beyond that. With the “Divine Sickle” talent unlocked, it can temporarily transform into Divine Sickle.
- Moonstrike: The Special Skill that replaces Iaido Slash. It requires 3 Sigils to activate and, while not central to the burst rotation, plays an important role in the downtime rotation. It also triggers multiple talent synergies and generates Blade Intent in preparation for the next burst window. With the “Chaos Breaker” talent unlocked, it can temporarily transform into Chaos Breaker.
- Scythe Wheel: Summons a Moonstrike that inflicts continuous close-range damage for 35 seconds. With the Phantom Scythe Realm I talent unlocked, it can summon two Moonstrikes instead. This skill is primarily used to trigger passive Lucky Hit effects from talents.
- Thundercut: Main skill to deal damage and to trigger several talent effects.
- Stormflash: Generates 20 Blade Intent per second for up to 15 seconds. While active, it will trigger Lightning Flash and Thunder Might talent effects.
Imagines
Phantom Arachnocrab |
Increases Mastery when cast and also provides a passive Mastery boost. |
Celestial Flier |
Raises Haste on activation and passively enhances Haste as well, helping you reach key Haste thresholds for the Thundercut skill more easily. |
Muku Scout |
Obtain up to 5% ATK after dealing damage 10 times within 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. When the Imagine is used, you instantly gain 6 temporary stacks. |
Shadow Captain |
Both its active and passive effects enhance Expertise Skill damage. You receive this Imagine for free from the Battle Imagine Box, making it a strong early option until you can craft higher-priority Imagines from the list. |
Talents
- Start with Thunder Seed and Touch of Thunder Soul to unlock the class mechanic and double Blade Intent capacity.
- Chaos Breaker, Thunder Scythe, and Moonstrike Delay boost damage and improve Blade Intent regen.
- Thousand Thunder Flashes, Thunder Might, and Moonlight Charge reduce Stormflash’s cooldown and increase Storm Scythe attacks.
- Thunder Curse enhances overall damage.
- Blade Intent – Rare, Phantom Scythe Realm I, and Divine Sickle raise damage, Blade Intent cap, and Moonstrike count.
- Thunder Sigil Charm and Raijin Dash Charge extend Stormflash and add Charge Seed generation.
- Breath of Mark lets Moonstrikes generate Thunder Sigils on Lucky Hits.
- Phantom Scythe Realm II restores 25 Blade Intent on Thundercut based on Luck.
- Lightning Flash doubles Moonstrike speed during Stormflash.
- Finish with Shadow Despise and Thunder Strike Whisper for extra damage.
Rotation and how to play
Burst Rotation
- Our goal with our burst rotation is to execute as many Thundercut and Divine Sickles as possible during Stormflash’s duration while also ensuring Scythe Wheel is active before starting.
Burst Rotation
- Before starting, ensure you’ve used Scythe Wheel recently enough that it won't time out during the duration of Stormflash
- Next, use your Imagines, then activate Stormflash and begin spamming Thundercut until Divine Sickle is available or you run out of Blade Intent.
- Upon reaching zero Blade Intent, use Chaos Breaker and continue the same rotation until Stormflash and your Imagine’s cooldowns have finished.
Conclusion
Stormblade features one of the highest skill ceilings in Blue Protocol, offering two distinct yet demanding playstyles. It’s perfect for players who enjoy fast-paced, technical combat, flashy animations, and high damage potential. With commitment and optimized gear, Stormblade can become one of the most powerful and rewarding classes to master.
