Kaze is Brawl Stars’ first Ultra Legendary Brawler and is classified as an Assassin. Unlike a conventional assassin, she can switch between Geisha and Ninja Aspects. Each Aspect has a different attack, Super, and ability effect, while the same two Gadgets, two Star Powers, and Hypercharge apply to both forms.

Kaze should therefore not be played as a simple dive-and-burst assassin. Her real strength comes from linking both Aspects together: Geisha provides mobility, disruption, and vision control, while Ninja offers ranged pressure, backline access, and finishing power. Here is all the information about how to Best cultivate Kaze!

Is Kaze Worth Upgrading?

Brawl Star kaze

Kaze is a high-ceiling Brawler who is worth upgrading, but she is not suitable for every player. Her greatest advantage is not simply burst damage, but the ability to change her role according to the enemy composition, map layout, and current battle situation. Geisha Aspect can repeatedly adjust her position through short dashes and use Fan Storm to restrict enemy vision and movement. Ninja Aspect can pressure opponents with shuriken attacks before using a long-distance dash to reach the backline or finish weakened enemies.

Kaze is particularly suitable for the following types of players

  • Players who enjoy flanking, spacing, and looking for the right engagement timing;
  • Players who are willing to practise Aspect switching and ability combinations;
  • Players who need to expand their Assassin pool for Ranked;
  • Players who enjoy versatile Brawlers that can adapt to different maps and team compositions.

If you rely heavily on auto-aim or frequently rush directly into the enemy team without checking their ammo and crowd-control abilities, Kaze may not perform well for you.

Kaze’s Two Aspects

Geisha Aspect

Kaze Geisha

Main Attack: Kaze’s Delivery Service

Kaze dashes a short distance forward and strikes the nearest target. She has a Strike Spot positioned at a fixed angle around herself. Hitting an enemy in the correct Strike Spot deals additional damage and moves the Strike Spot to its next position. The key to Geisha Aspect is not repeatedly using auto-aim. Players should use each short dash to adjust the angle between Kaze and her target, placing the enemy inside the correct Strike Spot whenever possible. Stable bonus damage requires coordinated movement and attacking.

Super: Fan Storm

Kaze creates a storm of fans in a targeted area. Enemies inside the Fan Storm cannot see outside it, and touching the storm also causes them to take damage. Fan Storm is valuable for more than its damage. It can deny vision, split the enemy formation, block narrow routes, and provide cover for Kaze or her teammates during an advance or retreat.

Main Responsibilities of Geisha Aspect

  • Use short dashes to approach or move around opponents;
  • Adjust attack angles to trigger the bonus damage of Kaze’s Delivery Service;
  • Use Fan Storm to deny vision and divide the enemy formation;
  • Apply sustained pressure in areas with walls and bushes;
  • Create safer follow-up engagement opportunities for Ninja Aspect.

Ninja Aspect

Kaze ninja

Main Attack: Silent Shuriken

Kaze throws two shuriken in succession, dealing increased damage to targets that are closer to her. Silent Shuriken gives Ninja Aspect a safer way to pressure opponents than Geisha Aspect. Kaze can use her shuriken to reduce enemy health, force opponents to spend ammo, or push them away from strong positions before looking for a Super engagement. Because Silent Shuriken deals more damage at close range, Ninja Aspect is not limited to long-range pressure. When an opponent has little ammo or no available crowd control, Kaze can move closer to increase her attack damage.

Super: Fist of the Brawl Star

Kaze dashes a long distance forward and marks every enemy she passes through. The marks explode after a short delay and deal damage. Fist of the Brawl Star can be used both to engage and to pass through enemies before repositioning to safety. An ideal dash should satisfy two conditions: it should mark valuable targets, and it should leave Kaze near cover, bushes, or teammates instead of placing her in the middle of the enemy formation.

In the November 2025 balance changes, the base invisibility duration provided by Hensojutsu was reduced from two seconds to 1.5 seconds, while the initial damage and dash speed of Fist of the Brawl Star were also reduced. As a result, current Kaze gameplay depends more heavily on accurate engagement timing rather than forcing an entry through invisibility and her Super alone.

Main Responsibilities of Ninja Aspect

  • Pressure enemies from range before committing;
  • Force enemies to spend ammo and crowd-control abilities;
  • Use Fist of the Brawl Star to pass through backliners or multiple targets;
  • Chase weakened enemies and secure eliminations;
  • Find a safe position immediately after completing an engagement.

Kaze Upgrade Priority

Stage One: Power Level 7 and Gadgets

Gadgets become available when a Brawler reaches Power Level 7. In the current system, Gadgets no longer have a limited number of uses per match. Instead, they operate on cooldowns and can be used again whenever the cooldown finishes.

For Kaze, Gadgets do more than provide healing, movement speed, invisibility, or a dash. They also directly switch her Aspect. Unlocking a Gadget is therefore the first major milestone in her progression.

Recommended First Purchase: Gracious Host

When Gracious Host is activated in Geisha Aspect, Kaze switches to Ninja Aspect and temporarily gains Movement Speed. When activated in Ninja Aspect, she switches to Geisha Aspect and heals for a percentage of her maximum health.

Gracious Host provides chasing power, escape potential, and healing while requiring less precise engagement planning. It is therefore the safer first Gadget for most players.

Stage Two: Power Level 9 and Star Powers

Kaze has two Star Powers, and each one produces a different effect depending on her current Aspect.

Advanced Techniques

In Geisha Aspect, hitting an enemy in the correct Strike Spot also slows them temporarily. In Ninja Aspect, the duration of Kaze’s Gadget effects is increased.

Advanced Techniques is suitable for most matches. The slow helps Geisha Aspect continue adjusting her Strike Spot and prevents enemies from quickly escaping her close-range pressure. The extended Gadget duration also strengthens Ninja Aspect’s movement-speed or invisibility effect.

Gratuity Included

In Geisha Aspect, enemies initially caught inside Fan Storm lose some ammo. In Ninja Aspect, a marked enemy deals area damage to nearby enemies when defeated.

Gratuity Included is better suited to modes and maps where enemies frequently stay close together. Ammo removal reduces their ability to fight back, while the mark explosion can create chain damage against grouped opponents.

Recommended First Purchase: Advanced Techniques

For players upgrading Kaze for the first time, Advanced Techniques is the recommended first Star Power. It does not require enemies to group together or depend on eliminating a marked target, making its activation conditions more consistent.

Stage Three: Gears

The recommended general Gear combination for Kaze is

Damage Gear + Shield Gear

Damage Gear increases Kaze’s output while she is at low health, helping her complete one final burst of damage. Shield Gear improves the safety of her first engagement and reduces the risk of being eliminated while approaching a target.

Bush-Heavy Maps: Speed Gear

On maps with large amounts of bushes, Speed Gear can replace Shield Gear. The additional Movement Speed helps Kaze change her attack angle more quickly and improves her ability to flank.

Frequent Aspect Switching: Gadget Cooldown Gear

The official Simplified Chinese name is 高频, while the official English name is Gadget Cooldown. It reduces Gadget cooldown by 15%. Because Kaze uses Gadgets to switch Aspects, this Gear can significantly improve her tactical flexibility.

However, Gadget Cooldown Gear only provides strong value when the player can make effective use of more frequent Aspect switching. For players who are still learning Kaze, the general Damage and Shield combination is usually more reliable.

Stage Four: Power Level 11 and Hypercharge

Power Level 11 allows Kaze to unlock her Hypercharge, Ancient Energy. Hypercharge Collector’s Packs also require the corresponding Brawler to be at Power Level 11.

When Ancient Energy is active in Geisha Aspect, the centre of Fan Storm deals damage over time. In Ninja Aspect, Kaze gains increased Super dash speed, and her marks immediately deal damage when a target’s remaining health is low enough to be defeated.

If you only need Kaze as an additional roster option, you can initially stop after unlocking a Gadget, Star Power, and two Gears. If you plan to use Kaze regularly in Ranked, upgrading her to Power Level 11 and unlocking Ancient Energy is worthwhile.

Recommended Kaze Builds

General-Purpose Build

  • Gadget: Gracious Host
  • Star Power: Advanced Techniques
  • Gears: Damage + Shield
  • Hypercharge: Ancient Energy

This build provides healing, Movement Speed, slowing effects, shielding, and additional damage. It works on most maps and is the safest choice for players upgrading Kaze for the first time.

Invisible Flank Build

  • Gadget: Hensojutsu
  • Star Power: Advanced Techniques
  • Gears: Damage + Shield or Gadget Cooldown
  • Hypercharge: Ancient Energy

When Hensojutsu is activated in Geisha Aspect, Kaze switches to Ninja Aspect and temporarily becomes invisible. When activated in Ninja Aspect, she switches to Geisha Aspect and dashes forward.

This build is useful for bypassing frontliners, approaching low-mobility ranged Brawlers, or suddenly changing Kaze’s attack route. However, the base invisibility duration has been reduced to 1.5 seconds, so players must plan their movement direction before activating the Gadget rather than looking for a target after becoming invisible.

Team-Fight Control Build

  • Gadget: Gracious Host
  • Star Power: Gratuity Included
  • Gears: Shield + Gadget Cooldown or Damage
  • Hypercharge: Ancient Energy

This build is designed for modes where enemies frequently group together. Geisha Aspect can remove enemy ammo through Fan Storm, while Ninja Aspect can pressure nearby opponents with the area damage created when a marked target is defeated.

How to Play Kaze

Opening Phase

Do not immediately activate a Gadget at the beginning of a match. First observe the enemy composition, map structure, and positioning of both teams before deciding whether to remain in Geisha Aspect or switch to Ninja Aspect.

Against ranged Brawlers, Ninja Aspect can begin by applying pressure with Silent Shuriken. On maps with more walls and shorter engagement distances, Geisha Aspect can contest space using Kaze’s Delivery Service.

Kaze should not use Fist of the Brawl Star to dash blindly into the enemy formation at the beginning of a match. Her best engagement opportunities usually appear after enemies have spent ammo, used their crowd-control abilities, or turned their attention toward her teammates.

Mid-Game Pressure and Aspect Switching

Kaze’s Gadgets should not be viewed only as a heal, Movement Speed boost, invisibility effect, or dash. Every Gadget activation also changes her Main Attack and Super.

Ninja Aspect can first pressure enemies with shuriken attacks, then use Gracious Host to heal and switch into Geisha Aspect before continuing the attack with short dashes.

After Geisha Aspect reaches an enemy, Kaze can also use Gracious Host to switch into Ninja Aspect and gain Movement Speed, allowing her to adjust the route of Fist of the Brawl Star more effectively.。

Team-Fight Phase

Geisha Aspect does not always need to secure an immediate elimination. Using Fan Storm to deny vision and force enemies to reposition can isolate a target, allowing Kaze or her teammates to finish that opponent more safely.

Fan Storm can be placed between the enemy frontline and backline, along an escape route, or across an important choke point. It should not always be placed directly beneath a single opponent.

When using Fist of the Brawl Star in Ninja Aspect, Kaze should try to pass through two or more valuable targets or ensure that the dash ends in a safe area. Even if enemies are successfully marked, the engagement may still fail if Kaze is eliminated before the marks explode.

Recommended Modes and Maps for Kaze

Brawl Ball

Brawl Ball frequently creates close-range fights around the goal and narrow routes. Geisha Aspect can use Fan Storm to deny vision and block defensive paths, while Ninja Aspect can quickly pass through opponents, chase the ball carrier, or reposition near the goal.

Knockout

Because players do not respawn during a Knockout round, Kaze’s poke and finishing abilities become especially valuable. Ninja Aspect can reduce enemy health from range before Kaze uses invisibility, Movement Speed, or her Super to complete the engagement.

Heist

Kaze can use her mobility to bypass defenders and approach the Safe after dealing with enemy Brawlers. However, she is generally more effective when creating a numbers advantage first instead of ignoring opponents and rushing directly toward the objective.

Gem Grab

Kaze works well as a side-lane pressure and backline threat in Gem Grab. Fan Storm can restrict the vision of the enemy gem carrier, while Fist of the Brawl Star can pass through the frontline and force the carrier to retreat.

Kaze is generally not an ideal primary gem carrier because she needs to engage aggressively. Holding a large number of gems limits the risks she can safely take.

Recommended Map Features

Kaze performs better on maps with the following features:

  • Walls and bushes that support flanking routes;
  • Frequent mid- and close-range engagements;
  • Narrow routes that can be controlled with Fan Storm;
  • Enemy frontliners and backliners that can be separated;
  • Cover that Kaze can reach after completing a dash.

On completely open maps dominated by long-range Brawlers, Geisha Aspect may struggle to approach safely, while Ninja Aspect can be pressured continuously before charging her Super.

Kaze’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Favourable Targets for Kaze

Kaze can generally threaten the following types of Brawlers:

  • Ranged damage dealers with limited mobility;
  • Brawlers with slow reload speeds;
  • Backliners without reliable knockback or stun abilities;
  • Brawlers that rely on clear vision to aim accurately;
  • Enemy compositions that frequently group together.

Fan Storm can restrict their vision, while Gratuity Included can remove ammo. Ninja Aspect can also pass directly through the frontline to reach vulnerable backliners.

Difficult Targets for Kaze

Kaze usually struggles against the following abilities:

Abilities that immediately knock back, stun, or silence an engaging enemy;

Extremely high close-range burst damage;

Persistent area damage that blocks narrow routes;

Strong shields, damage reduction, or rapid healing;

Large-area bush checking or abilities that reveal invisible targets.

Against these opponents, Kaze should not use Fist of the Brawl Star directly on a full-health target. A better approach is to let teammates force out important defensive abilities or pressure the target with Silent Shuriken before engaging.

Common Kaze Mistakes

Staying in One Aspect for the Entire Match

Using only Ninja Aspect wastes Geisha’s mobility, vision control, and zoning potential. Using only Geisha Aspect removes Kaze’s safer ranged pressure and long-distance engagement tools.

Kaze’s core mechanic is not choosing one “stronger” Aspect, but switching repeatedly according to the battle situation.

Focusing on the Gadget Effect but Ignoring the New Aspect

After healing with Gracious Host, Kaze enters Geisha Aspect. After becoming invisible with Hensojutsu, she enters Ninja Aspect. Before activating a Gadget, players must consider whether the attack range and Super of the resulting Aspect are suitable for the current situation.

Repeatedly Auto-Aiming in Geisha Aspect

The bonus damage of Kaze’s Delivery Service depends on hitting from the correct Strike Spot. Repeatedly using auto-aim without adjusting Kaze’s position wastes one of Geisha Aspect’s most important damage mechanics.

Using Fist of the Brawl Star on a Full-Health Frontliner

Fist of the Brawl Star is better used to pass through weakened targets, backliners, or multiple enemies rather than delivering Kaze directly to a full-health tank.

If the dash does not end near cover or teammates, Kaze may be eliminated before the marks explode even if the targets were successfully marked.

Treating Fan Storm as a Pure Damage Ability

One of Fan Storm’s most important functions is vision denial. It can split enemy formations, prevent reinforcements, block escape routes, and create space for teammates to advance.

Placing the storm directly beneath a single enemy every time can waste its area-control potential.

Final Upgrade Path

For players with limited resources, the following Kaze upgrade order is recommended:

Power Level 7 + Gracious Host

Power Level 9 + Advanced Techniques

Unlock Damage Gear and Shield Gear

Upgrade to Power Level 11 and unlock Ancient Energy after deciding to use Kaze regularly

This upgrade path prioritises Kaze’s healing, mobility, slowing effects, and survivability, creating a reliable build without requiring the maximum investment immediately.

After mastering the general-purpose build, unlock Hensojutsu and Gratuity Included for invisible flanks, ammo control, and countering grouped enemy teams.

Conclusion

Kaze is not a Brawler who can reach her full potential through one fixed combination. Her true ceiling depends on the player’s ability to adapt according to enemy health, remaining ammo, crowd-control abilities, and map terrain.

Geisha Aspect is responsible for approaching enemies, adjusting attack angles, denying vision, and splitting formations. Ninja Aspect provides ranged pressure, flanking, long-distance engagements, and finishing power. The two Aspects should be treated as one continuous combat cycle rather than two separate characters.

New Kaze players should begin with the general-purpose combination of Gracious Host, Advanced Techniques, Damage Gear, and Shield Gear. After becoming familiar with the attack ranges of both Aspects, Gadget-switching logic, and safe Super landing positions, players can begin experimenting with Hensojutsu flanks and more aggressive Aspect-switching combinations.
