Whether you're a daily grinder or someone who logs in for the big events, this month has something worth your time at every stage of the game. CoC The Skeleton Kingdom Season — What's the Theme?

A bone-a-fide Skeleton Kingdom lies beneath the village — and they're not staying buried. May is a season packed with bones, boosts, and brutal rewards. Welcome to Skeleton Kingdom.

The entire month is wrapped in a dark, gothic skeleton aesthetic. The new theme introduces a spooky visual style, highlighted by a Grand Warden skin in the Gold Pass, along with a full schedule of in-game events throughout the month. It's one of those rare seasons where the theme actually carries through from the Gold Pass all the way to the community events — everything feels cohesive and intentional.

CoC Gold Pass: Skeleton Kingdom (May 1–31)

The Gold Pass this season unlocks rewards, boosts your progress, and lets you claim the season's exclusive Skeleton-themed Hero Skin: Skeleton Warden. Additionally, the Prospector is now available to unlock on Day 1 of the Pass.

That last point is a genuine quality-of-life win for Gold Pass holders. Previously, the Prospector unlocked mid-season, meaning you'd miss out on days of ore conversion. Getting it from Day 1 means you're farming Shiny, Glowy, and Starry Ore from the moment the season opens. The Prospector converts Ores daily — up to 2,000 Shiny, 120 Glowy, or 2 Starry — essential for upgrading hero equipment.

On the Hoggy Bank side, the system introduced earlier this year continues: it now starts at its maximum size right away. Instead of gradual size upgrades, the Gold Pass applies a 5x payout multiplier when you claim it at the end of the season. If you're a Gold Pass player, don't forget to claim it before the season resets.

The full Skeleton Hero Skin lineup is also live all month — from the bone-rattling Skeleton King to the spine-tingling Skeleton Queen, every Hero is ready to rise again.

 

CoC Clan War Leagues (May 1–11)

The season kicks off straight into competitive territory. CWL has new Leagues this season: Titan and Legend. Players can enjoy Battle Modifiers in higher Leagues, and team up to battle through seven opponents in 15v15 or 30v30 wars.

If your Clan is aiming for Legend League, this is the window that matters most. Ten days goes fast — get your lineups sorted early and make sure everyone is hitting their attacks.

 

CoC Clash vs Skeletons Event (May 4–18) — Free Legendary Skin Alert

This is the headline free event of the month and it deserves its own spotlight. The short version: pick a team, earn stars in battles, donate them to push across a shared map, and take down the Skeleton Base together. The biggest personal reward is a free Legendary Skeleton King Resurrected skin, unlocked by donating 200 stars individually.

CoC Mini Spotlight: Super Witch (May 9–16)

The Super Witch Mini Spotlight runs May 9 to 16. Players collect Ice Cubes in battle, unlock the Super Witch Super Troop, and earn Medals to spend on rewards from the Trader. Available for Town Hall 8 and above.

The Super Witch is a solid Super Troop for ground attack strategies, especially when you need something that can both tank and spawn Big Boys on the battlefield. The Medals from this event can be spent at the Trader, so even if you're not actively using the Super Witch in your attacks, it's worth staying active during the window to rack up Medals.

 

CoC Shadow Samurai Barbarian King (May 15–31)

The Shadow Samurai Barbarian King Hero Skin arrives in the Shop from May 15. Scorching black armor, a warrior's lasting will, echoes in shadow. This super exclusive Shadow Samurai King skin is a one-time offer — when it's gone, it's gone forever.

"One-time offer" means exactly that. Unlike seasonal cosmetics that occasionally return in bundles, Supercell is positioning this as a never-again item. If you're a collector or a Barbarian King main, weigh that carefully. It won't be cheap, but it also won't come back.

 

CoC Builder Base Bonanza (May 17–31)

This is the most practically valuable event for progression-focused players in the second half of the month. All Builder Base upgrade costs and timers will have a 50% discount. There will also be other cool stuff like 4x Star bonuses and Builder Base tasks.

This event celebrates nine years since Builder Base was first introduced. A 50% discount across the board is substantial — if you've been sitting on Builder Base upgrades, delay them until May 17 and let the discount do the heavy lifting. The 4x Star bonus also makes this a great period to grind Builder Base battles if you're chasing trophies or ranking rewards there.

CoC Bone Idol Decoration (May 18–31)

A villager uncovered a curious skull collection. The Bone Idol is a 3x3 Super Deco that sprouts a fresh artifact with every tap — eerie, elegant, and available in the Shop from May 18. It's a flavor item rather than a gameplay one, but if you're into theming your village for the Skeleton Kingdom season, this fits the aesthetic perfectly.

 

CoC Clan Games (May 22–28)

Clan Games take place during the final full week of May. Players complete challenges to earn points and unlock tiered rewards, with bonus prizes available for top contributors.

Standard Clan Games format — work with your clanmates to hit the magic item and resource milestones. If your Clan is active, the upper reward tiers are very achievable in six days. Make sure you're coordinating challenge types so everyone can contribute efficiently.

 

CoC Unlimited Dragon Duke (May 27–31)

No chains, all pain. During the Unlimited Dragon Duke event, Dragon Duke can be used while he is upgrading, and all of his Equipment will be boosted to their maximum level.

During this period, you can use the new Hero without any limitations in your battles. If you've been upgrading Dragon Duke and missing him from your attacks, this is your window. Running max-level equipment on him for free lets you get a real feel for his ceiling — useful for anyone still deciding how deep to invest in his gear.

 

FAQ

Do I need the Gold Pass to enjoy the May events?

No — the Clash vs Skeletons event, Super Witch spotlight, Builder Base Bonanza, Clan Games, and the Unlimited Dragon Duke event are all available to free players. The Gold Pass adds the Skeleton Warden skin, Hoggy Bank multiplier, Prospector access, and other progression boosts on top of the free content.

Is the Skeleton Warden skin only available this month?

Yes. As the Gold Pass season skin, it is a limited seasonal cosmetic. Once May ends, it will no longer be directly available through the Gold Pass.

What's the best time to spend the Hoggy Bank loot?

After the 20% builder and research discounts unlock in the Gold Pass track. Timing your resource dumps for when those discounts are active gives you more value out of your stored loot.

Can I use Dragon Duke during Clan War League with the Unlimited event?

The Unlimited event runs May 27–31, after CWL ends. But if Dragon Duke is otherwise available in your roster, he can be used in standard war attacks throughout the month.

Is the Shadow Samurai King skin really a one-time purchase?

Based on Supercell's current communication, yes. They've explicitly flagged it as a never-returning item. Treat it accordingly.
