Overall rating

S+ Support

Ringtail’s S+ rating reflects his value as a Support rather than his individual damage. He combines three functions in one formation slot and can improve several nearby Tatari at once. However, he still needs capable attackers and a stable frontline around him to reach that potential.

The Version 0.47 update also introduced unique Horde Invasion skills for Ringtail and his evolutions, giving the line additional value beyond standard stage progression.

Ringtail Skills and Evolutions

Ringtail currently has four stages. Each evolution retains the original attack-and-return mechanic while improving its coverage.

T1 Ringtail: Bushy Debut

Ringtail

Bushy Debut orders the Lackeys to continuously deal AoE damage. After the Lackeys return, they provide healing and Vigilante: ATK Boost to allies within a small area.

Unlike Tatari whose defining mechanics only appear after evolution, Ringtail already has his complete support package at T1. He can contribute useful damage while improving the offensive output and survivability of nearby allies.

The trade-off is limited range. T1 Ringtail needs to be placed directly beside the units he is expected to support, making the original form less flexible when the formation is spread across several lanes.

T2 Rizzler: Sleight of Hand

Rizzler

Rizzler replaces the original skill with Sleight of Hand. It continues to order the Lackeys to deal AoE damage before returning to heal allies and grant them Vigilante: ATK Boost.

This evolution does not change Ringtail’s basic playstyle, but it makes his support much more reliable. The expanded allied coverage allows Rizzler to reach more useful targets, while the cross-shaped attack gives him better pressure against enemies entering from nearby lanes.

For many players, T2 is the most efficient stopping point. Rizzler keeps everything that makes Ringtail valuable while reducing the positioning restrictions of the original form.

T3 Zorrock: Myriad Masks

Zorrock

Zorrock upgrades the skill to Myriad Masks. It orders the Lackeys to continuously deal large AoE damage. After returning, the Lackeys provide healing and Vigilante: ATK Boost to allies within the affected support area.

The expanded attack area is particularly effective against crowded waves, allowing Zorrock to contribute pressure across several nearby lanes instead of focusing on a narrow section of the battlefield. It does not, however, cover all five lanes at once. Central positioning remains important if the stage distributes enemies across the full board.

Zorrock also retains the same delayed support cycle. His larger attack is a major upgrade against groups, but the healing and buff still activate only after the Lackeys return.

T4 Phantothief: The Final Act

The final evolution upgrades Ringtail into Phantothief and replaces Myriad Masks with The Final Act. The skill orders the Lackeys to continuously deal large AoE damage. After returning, they heal allies within the support area and grant them Vigilante: ATK Boost.

Phantothief also carries Aura: Rock whenever he is on the field, reducing damage taken by all allies. This is the evolution’s most important addition: Zorrock already provides the line’s broad 3×3 attack coverage, while Phantothief adds a formation-wide defensive benefit on top of the existing damage, healing and ATK Boost cycle.

Ringtail Tier Ranking

Ringtail’s ranking changes across the evolution stages because each form is compared with other Tatari at the same tier. Although Rizzler and Zorrock are stronger than the original form in absolute terms, they face much tougher competition in the T2 and T3 rankings.

-

Ringtail earns an S Tier rating at T1 because its complete support mechanic is available immediately. AoE damage, healing and an ATK Boost give it more utility than most unevolved Tatari.

Rizzler falls into A Tier at T2. Its improved coverage makes the skill more reliable, but several T2 Tatari offer more decisive damage, control or frontline value.

Zorrock remains in A Tier at T3. The larger AoE is useful against crowded waves, but its support still depends on the Lackeys returning, while stronger T3 options can have a more immediate or wider impact on difficult battles.

Best Placement for Ringtail

Ringtail is generally best placed in the middle or back portion of the formation, close to one or two high-value attackers. A central slot gives his Lackeys better access to several lanes and makes it easier for the returning support effect to reach multiple allies.

Avoid placing him on the outer edge unless the stage heavily concentrates enemies on that side. Edge placement can waste part of his attack coverage and reduce the number of allies receiving his healing and ATK Boost.

The exact row matters less than the support connection. Watch the Lackeys’ return animation and confirm that the intended allies are receiving both the heal and the buff. If the wrong units are being affected, adjust Ringtail’s position before investing additional resources.

Best Teammates for Ringtail

Ringtail’s Vigilante: ATK Boost is not described as Rock-exclusive, so he can support both Rock and mixed-element formations.

Lickflicker Tatari

Lickflicker

Lickflicker is one of the most promising partners highlighted by early community testing around the T3 Ringtail showcase. Its wide forward attack and Burn pressure can make good use of Ringtail’s ATK Boost, while Ringtail helps keep it healthy during longer waves.

The pairing works best when both units can remain within the Lackeys’ return area without forcing Lickflicker into a poor attack position.

Zenscarab Tatari

Zenscarab

Zenscarab provides strong focused Rock damage and is particularly useful against bosses. Ringtail supports that role by increasing its offensive output while supplying enough sustain to keep the local formation stable.

This is one of the better choices when the stage demands concentrated damage rather than broad wave clearing.

Rockong Tatari

Rockong

Rockong offers more direct Rock damage against grouped enemies. Pairing it with Ringtail creates a straightforward damage-and-support core: Rockong handles the main offensive workload, while Ringtail adds AoE pressure and strengthens its repeated attacks.

Clangnaga

Clangnaga’s piercing attacks become especially valuable when enemies line up across crowded lanes. Zorrock helps soften those groups while increasing Clangnaga’s ATK, giving the formation both wide-area pressure and sustained support.

岩暴龙角色图

Rockzilla

Ringtail should not be expected to tank simply because he can heal. A reliable Rock Tank or Guardian gives his Lackeys enough time to complete their cycle and return. Rockzilla is the stronger pure lane-holding option, while Rockshell can fill a more defensive Guardian role.

Ringtail Performance by Game Mode

Adventure and Chapters: S+ Support

Ringtail is highly effective in regular stage progression because chapters frequently contain long waves. These battles give his Lackeys time to attack and return repeatedly, producing sustained AoE damage, healing and offensive buffs.

His effectiveness drops if the frontline collapses before the first support cycle finishes, so underlevelled teams may still need a stronger Tank rather than another Support.

Boss Challenge: S Tier

Against bosses, Ringtail’s personal AoE becomes less important, but his healing and ATK Boost remain valuable. He performs best when placed beside one or two strong single-target attackers such as Zenscarab.

Whether he improves the final result depends on the alternative slot. If removing a DPS for Ringtail causes more damage loss than his buff can recover, a more offensive formation may still score better.

Ringtail in Horde Invasion: High Potential, Season-Dependent

Ringtail and his evolutions received unique Horde Invasion skills in Version 0.47. His combination of AoE pressure, healing and offensive support is naturally suited to a mode built around sustained waves.

Island Goldrush: S Tier on Defence

Healing and buffs are useful for defensive formations that aim to survive and reduce losses. Ringtail can make a durable lane more difficult to break, especially when several nearby Tatari benefit from his return effect.

For fast offensive attacks, an additional burst DPS may sometimes produce better results by ending the fight before Ringtail completes multiple cycles.

Ringtail Evolution Priority

Keep Ringtail at T1 when:

You have only recently obtained him or are still testing where he fits into the formation. T1 already provides the complete healing and ATK Boost mechanic, making immediate heavy investment unnecessary.

Upgrade to Rizzler when:

Ringtail already has a regular place in your main board. The wider support area and cross-shaped attack make T2 the most practical upgrade for players who want greater consistency without rushing the full line.

Upgrade to Zorrock when:

Your main damage dealers and frontline are already established. Zorrock offers the best wave coverage and the strongest version of Ringtail’s support package, making T3 a worthwhile long-term target for developed formations.

Ringtail should support an existing core, not replace one. If the account still lacks a dependable Tank or main attacker, finishing those roles first will usually provide more immediate progress.

Is Ringtail Worth Upgrading?

Yes. Ringtail is one of the strongest Support projects currently available and deserves an S+ Support rating when used in the right formation.

The original form is already useful, Rizzler offers a strong cost-to-performance upgrade, and Zorrock adds the wide enemy coverage needed for harder waves. His ability to combine damage, healing and ATK Boost makes him especially valuable for players who can consistently keep two important allies within range.

The safest investment route is to unlock Ringtail’s T1 utility, move to Rizzler once his position is established, and pursue Zorrock after the formation’s frontline and main damage have been secured.

Conclusion

Ringtail is a valuable addition for players looking to round out their formation with a flexible Rock Support. He is useful from T1, while later evolutions are best considered after your main frontline and damage dealers are established.
