What is the Golden Bird Nest?

Golden Bird Nest is a hidden item that is collected through the completion of the Golden Egg mission during the anniversary event of Delta Force. The Golden Bird Nest is a rare item and unlike regular rewards, the Golden Egg requires exploration and completion of challenges that makes it a thing to brag about. The cost of the Golden Bird Nest is about 2 million in-game credits, exactly 2,025,926 (representing the date of the anniversary event). While collecting the Golden Bird Nest, you will be able to see actual Golden Eggs in it and a special engraving with Morse code that translates to “Thanks for playing our game”.

Fastest Way to Get the Golden Bird Nest

In order to acquire the Golden Bird Nest, one needs to complete a series of missions which includes collecting a total of 8 Secret Protocol Crates, Placing the crates in a formation, opening the door and finally collecting the Nest. This was just a brief of what you have to do and below is a detailed version of how things needs to be operated:

Step 1 – Find the Secret Protocol Crates

Secret Protocol Crates are a vital object to unlock the final reward in this mission and you will need to collect a total of 8 crates. One tip while crate hunting is that you store them in safe boxes to avoid losing them in case you die during the hunt. These crates are scattered across different maps and each of the maps contains either 1 or 2 crates to be collected.

Zero Dam

  • Number of Crates: 2
  • Crate Code: D

Layali Grove

  • Number of Crates: 1
  • Crate Code: L

Brakkesh

  • Number of Crates: 2
  • Crate Code: B

Space City

  • Number of Crates: 2
  • Crate Code: S

Tide Prison

  • Number of Crates: 1
  • Crate Code: T

Use the Crate code to identify its map origin to avoid confusion and it is recommended to do this mission along with at least 3 players for efficient collection and security against ambush.

Step 2 – Head to the Gate

Now that you have collected all the Secret Protocol Crates, head back to the Layali Grove map where you need to find the waterfall at the southeast storage station center. If you end up spawning too far away from the Waterfall, it is recommended to use Raptor’s or Luna’s gadgets to avoid possible ambushes.

If you don’t have Luna or Raptor, you can even use Shephard or buy them using Delta Force top up. The best platform to make the top-up is LDShop, it lets players top up for less and it is a great way to save money. Once you reach near the Waterfall, you will find an entrance that leads to a cave. Enter the cave.

Step 3 – Opening the Door

Before entering too deep inside the cave, inspect it using scouts and if you are using Shephard, then cover the cave entrance with sonic traps. Once you are inside the cave, you will see a locked door that leads to the place of Golden Bird Nest. In order to open the door, you need to place those Secret Protocol Crates in a specific order and places. Look for triangle marks on crates and rocks inside the cave and stand above those marks to assign the crates at their specific positions. The placement should be down in a clockwise manner i.e left to right in the order of:

  1. T – Tide Prison
  2. L – Layali Grove
  3. S – Space City
  4. S – Space City
  5. B – Brakkesh
  6. B – Brakkesh
  7. D – Zero Dam
  8. D – Zero Dam

If by chance, you have placed the crates incorrectly, then wait for a minute or two until the crates are unlocked and retrieve them to try again.

Step 4 – Claiming your Reward

Now that the door is open, enter individually and proceed forward. You will go through some cinematic animations or flashbacks, after which the helicopter will drop you to the spot where you will collect the Golden Bird Nest. Pick it up and wait for 1 minute until the extraction team arrives.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Skipping Protocol Crates: Many players rush missions without collecting all 8 required crates. Without these, the Easter egg door won’t unlock, making all your effort meaningless.
  • Placing Crates in the Wrong Order: The correct sequence is T → L → S → S → B → B → D → D. Placing them incorrectly locks the crates for 2–3 minutes, wasting valuable time and risking enemy ambushes.
  • Dropping the Golden Nest: During extraction, dropping the nest (intentionally or accidentally) can cause you to lose your reward entirely, especially if you pick up another player’s nest.
  • Ignoring the Extraction Timer: You only have 1 minute after picking up the nest to extract. Many players underestimate this timer, get distracted, or engage enemies, and fail the attempt.
  • Overloading on Heavy Gear: Carrying heavy weapons or armor slows your movement, making crate runs and quick extraction much harder. Speed and stealth are more important here.
  • Rushing Into Combat: Charging into firefights near crate or nest locations often alerts enemies and increases the chance of losing crates or getting downed before extraction.
  • Not Coordinating with Teammates: Soloing the Golden Nest challenge is possible but inefficient. Without teammates covering you or helping with crates, you’re much more vulnerable to enemy squads.

Conclusion

The Golden Eggs are not just a valuable reward but they are also proof of your dedication and efforts to accomplish this rare achievement during this exclusive event. Follow the general way of collecting your crates and the steps as mentioned in the guide to have an efficient and smooth exploration.
