Estela's Information
Rarity: Mythic | Element: Solar | Role: Offense | Combat Style: Long Range
Estela is a 5-star Solar character released in Version 1 of Destiny: Rising. She specializes in Offense, Long Range combat, as well as Pulse Rifles and Machine Guns.
Estela's Abilities
Here are Estela's Abilities for you to know clearly what her gameplay mechanism is:
- Corruption (Passive)
Attacking combatants with weapons accumulates Corruption, up to 10 times per second. Casting Bewitched Illusion consumes Corruption. This ability cannot be cast without sufficient energy.
- Bewitched Illusion (Signature Ability)
Estela summons a Bewitched Illusion to join the battlefield and fight combatants on its owen. The more Corruption she has accumulated, the higher the level of the summoned Bewitched Illusion will be. Higher level Bewitched Illusion deal greater damage.
- Misfortune's Guide (Signature Ability)
Unleashes contaminated energy, dealing damage to hit combatants and inflicting them with Misfortune.
- Violent Reverie (Super Ability)
Summons a powerful Violent Reverie to continuously attack combatants by firing a contaminating beam.
Estela is a summoner, and her core gameplay boils down to three steps: use basic attacks to generate energy, spend energy to summon clones – the more energy, the stronger the clones and se her skill to mark enemies, making the clones focus fire and deal extra damage, while her ultimate (Violent Reverie) summons a powerful dragon that attacks continuously
In short: Shoot to generate resources → Summon minions → Mark targets for the minions to gang up → Ult to release the dragon.
Relic Traits
- Calamitous Pandemic: Defeating an enemy affected by Misfortune causes the effect to transfer to another enemy within 10 meters, dealing minor damage. The duration decreases by 2 seconds with each transfer (stacking up to 5 times). The debuff jumps between enemies.
- Dreammate: While your ultimate (Violent Reverie) is active, the Misfortune countdown on all affected combatants is paused, and Corruption accumulation efficiency increases by 80%. This is extremely powerful for maximizing damage during your ultimate. Make sure to mark an enemy with Misfortune before activating your ultimate for the best results.
- Focus Fire: Hitting an enemy with Misfortune's Guide causes all your illusions to teleport to the target and immediately unleash three rapid attacks (Tempting Breath). This effect triggers regardless of the illusion's level and provides massive burst damage. By switching targets periodically, you can consistently activate this effect.
Best Estela Weapons
Primary/Secondary Weapon
Furious III
Furious III is an excellent choice (since everyone has it). It offers high damage, and its increasing fire rate while firing helps accumulate Corruption energy efficiently. It becomes even stronger with its Catalyst (especially the one that refills the magazine).
Heavy Weapon
Scorched Earth
Scorched Earth is the top pick. Its high fire rate (RPM) allows it to trigger "Accidents" (from the Weapon Mastery trait, based on hit count) more frequently. Machine guns in general are not the strongest weapon type in the game, but this one suits Estela well.
Alternative
Gallows
If you have the Exotic machine gun "Gallows", definitely give it a try – it is considered the best machine gun currently. If using "Gallows", you can pair it with the Ultimatum pulse rifle as your primary/secondary weapon (especially if it has good Mythic perks).
Ultimatum
Good Gift for You!
Best Estela Artifacts
LDShop notes that Estela's main weakness is her lack of inherent damage resistance or healing capabilities (at least without additional copies). Therefore, Artifacts should focus on addressing this.
Relic Slot 1 (Survival)
Nourishing Pact |
Restores 12 HP each time you summon. Since summoning is frequent, this provides decent sustain. |
Warding Pact |
Gain 1 stack of Ward (providing damage resistance) for each summon on the field, up to 3 stacks. With 3 summons typically active, this offers consistent damage reduction. |
Abundant Platisimal |
Casting an ability grants healing over 5 seconds. This effect stacks up to 3 times (with increasing potency). Due to frequent use of summoning and marking abilities, you can maintain nearly permanent uptime on max stacks for steady healing. Choose this for reliable sustain. |
Relic Slot 2 (Survival)
Siphoning Act |
Healing for 10% of your HP occurs when your summons assist in scoring a final blow. This triggers as long as your summons contribute to kills. |
Abundant Planetesimal |
Dealing damage with secondary abilities restores HP based on damage dealt. Since your summons constantly deal damage, this also provides consistent healing. |
Relic Slot 3 (Offensive)
Bellicose Pact |
Increases the damage dealt by your summons. |
Relic Slot 4 (Offensive)
Responsive Pact |
Summons deal increased damage for the first few seconds after being summoned. |
Resonating Pact |
When your summons attack the same target as you, they deal 28% increased damage. |
Both are strong. The latter may be better for boss fights or focused damage phases, while the former is more effective in general gameplay where summoning is frequent.
Etela Recommended Teammates
Tan-2 (PVP)
In PVP, it's always useful to have a healer, like Tan-2, as they can pick off any enemies that Estela leaves standing. However, if Estela is using a summon-focused build, a standard healer will be slightly worse than Umeko in this role.
Ning Fei (PVP)
In PVP, Ning Fei serves as an excellent partner for Estela. His summoned clones effectively divert enemy attention, creating valuable breathing room for both Estela and the primary tank. Additionally, Ning Fei delivers substantial AOE damage, facilitating easier execution finishes and generating additional Void Spirit resources for the team.
Kabr (PVE)
Kabr serves as a strong defensive partner for Estela, effectively protecting her while her summons deal damage. His ability to blind enemies further enhances the team's survivability by keeping her summons alive longer. However, it's worth noting that he uses a Rapid-Fire weapon, which could lead to an overabundance of that weapon type on the team if it isn't necessary for the mission.
Umeko (PVE)
Umeko significantly boosts the damage output of both Estela and her summons. This increased firepower allows Estela to maintain a safer positioning, thereby reducing her reliance on dedicated healing. Furthermore, their Supers synergize perfectly, enabling them to combine for massive area-of-effect damage against grouped enemies.
Conclusion
Overall, Estela's exceptional sustained damage and reliable area debuffs solidify her irreplaceable role as a core ranged damage dealer. Choosing her means gaining both formidable firepower and tactical control, making her an ideal pick for conquering the most challenging content!
