The latest installment of EA Sports’ long running football simulation series has been released as EA Sports FC 26 on 26th September, 2025 with an early access starting from the 19th only. After its separation from the FIFA franchise, the FC brand has always been trying to give the game a unique identity and the FC 26 just might be it. The FC 26 has been quite the talk of the time among all football simulation players because of the new reworks and changes. One of the most innovative features in recent years is the Evolutions system that allows players to upgrade their cards and turn a low rated player into a higher rated one by giving incredible stat boosts.

With FC 26, players were kind of expecting evolution cards but not this early, and now the evolutions have been out. Let’s follow LDShop for a full guide covering these Evolutions and their design leaks which can prove to be a vital piece of information for both the casual and the competitive traders.

What are Evolutions?

Evolutions are a progression system that lets you upgrade specific player cards or time over time by completing in-game objectives. This system encourages players to keep possession of their favourite low rated and upgrade it to a higher rated one.

For example, let's say you have a striker card whose overall rating is 79, then you use evolution upon it and now it has transformed into an 83 rated striker with higher stats than before.

FC 26 Evolutions Explained

There exist two categories for Evolution:

Training Camp Evolutions: This evolution does not require any gameplay objectives to be completed and you can simply use the web app to assign upgrades for players. The training camp evolutions will grant you a single playstyle or a little stat boost.

Objective-based Evolutions: As the name suggests, players have to complete in-game objectives or challenges for these evolutions. The objective evolutions are capable enough to increase your player’s OVR by 2 and improve multiple attributes.

Step 1 – Select Evolution

Step 2 – Complete Objectives

Step 3 – Upgrade Player

Assign a player from your club to an Evolution that features the upgrade that fits your needs.

Level up by completing challenges in gameplay with that player

Evo Card Design Change

Along with the new Evo cards, the appearance of the new cards are also different from last year's theme. This year’s Evo cards represent a much more dynamically animated design with a double helix twist as the background and surrounded by glowing accents which really make the cards look like an upgrade. The thing that makes this design stand out in comparison to the previous plain green evo card is the visuals and the helix that stands a symbol of growth. This improvement depicts that the game is trying to show that the Evolution is not just a mere cosmetic but it is a symbol that the upgraded player carries a sense of value.

Ways to maximize your upgrades

Here are the number of things that you need to remember and implement to get the most our of your Evo card upgrades:

  • Picking the right player to upgrade – Before evolution, you need to first confirm that the card you are about to evolve is worth the upgrade. To make sure that the candidate is right, look for these attributes:
    • Balanced Stats: Look for players with fast movements but less effective finishing as players like them are the ideal candidates for the Intro to Evolution upgrade.
    • League Connections: Player Cards from top leagues, especially the Premier League often cost more but provide strong chemistry options. Kolo Muani from Tottenham is a perfect example.
    • Current Market Value: Evolutions are like gems and often see sudden price spikes. Therefore, try to stay ahead of the market and complete evolutions that are less available in the market.
  • Smart upgrade Plans
    • Prioritize players with 79–80 shooting so they end up at 82 after two boosts.
    • Skip cards already capped in pace or shooting.
    • Favor options with multiple usable positions (like CAM/ST).
