The Max. 87 Base Hero Upgrade brings Stam, Zola and Hamšík into the chase alongside favourites such as Matuidi and Ramires. There are some excellent pulls here, but plenty of Heroes cost less to buy outright. Here is what the SBC requires, which rewards are worth getting excited about, and when to keep your fodder for something else.
Max. 87 Base Hero Upgrade Requirements

This is a Hero pack, not a player pick. You receive one player without a choice of alternatives, and “Max. 87” does not guarantee an 87-rated card. Howard, Kanu and the other eligible lower-rated Heroes are still in the pool.
Complete it by submitting eligible players until you reach 115,000 Item Score. There is no traditional 11-player squad to build, so you can use a larger number of cheaper cards or fewer higher-rated ones. Progress carries across submissions, and duplicate eligible players can go into the same challenge.
Choose your fodder carefully. Submitted players leave your club permanently, even if you have not finished the SBC.
What Has Changed Since Max. 86?
The extra 30,000 Item Score buys access to 25 more Heroes. The biggest improvement is in defence: Stam, Córdoba and Barzagli give the new pack several centre-backs capable of transforming an early squad. Zola and Hamšík add more quality going forward.
The lower-rated prizes have not lost their appeal, either. An 86-rated Ramires or Matuidi remains a much better result than plenty of 87s. Judge the player who walks out, not just the number on the card.
How Much Does the Max. 87 Hero SBC Cost?
Budget around 129,000 Coins on Console if you are buying all the materials and taking the cheapest route. Using fewer cards brings the cost closer to 142,000–144,000 Coins.
The 115,000 requirement is Item Score, not a Coin price. Your actual spend depends on the fodder already in your club and the prices you pay for the rest.
Prices fluctuate. Check each item's score before buying, especially when using a different version of a player.
Cheapest Route: Buy 84-Rated Fodder
The cheapest combination uses 136 players rated 84, one rated 85 and a 47-rated player to finish the remaining score. That is 138 cards in total, so it suits players willing to spend time buying cheap fodder. Avoid chasing listings once prices rise: paying a little more on every card can quickly wipe out the saving.
Faster Route: Use Higher-Rated Golds
The mixed route cuts the shopping list to 26 cards. Using only 87s reduces it further to 21, for a relatively small extra cost.
If you are starting from an empty club, that convenience may be worth paying for. If you already own most of the required 84s, there is much less reason to buy higher-rated replacements.
Best Route for Most Clubs: Use Spares First
Start with untradeables you will not use, then buy enough fodder to finish the remaining score. A full shopping list becomes less useful once you have already made progress.
Keep your other SBC plans in mind. Spare fodder can make this pack cheap to complete, but it could also help finish a guaranteed player you actually want. Do not sacrifice a starter or abandon a nearly completed player SBC for another random Hero.

All 62 Hero Rewards: S, A and B Tiers
Some pulls can go straight into a strong starting XI. Others are useful only if they fill a gap, and a few are difficult to justify against the cost of completing the SBC.
Prices below are approximate Console prices for standard Base Hero items.
S Tier: The Pulls You Want
Matuidi, Ramires and Stam are the headline prizes, but this group has strong options across the pitch. These are the rewards most likely to make the pack feel worthwhile, provided you do not already own an untradeable duplicate.
A Tier: Good Players for the Right Squad
These are welcome results when their position and playing style suit your team. Bompastor or Capdevila can solve a left-back problem; Kewell or Quaresma can improve your wide options. They are less exciting if that position is already covered.
B Tier: More Disappointing for the Price
These players can still have a place in a starter squad or a themed team. The problem is the cost of the pack. Getting someone you could buy for much less makes it harder to justify using so much fodder.
Alex Scott is a good example of the difference between a usable player and a good pack return. She can fill a right-back vacancy, but that does not mean spending around 129,000 Coins to obtain her at random makes sense.
The cheaper end of the pool includes Kanu at around 44,300 Coins, Pizarro at 43,800 and Campos at 61,000. If one of those players is all your team needs, buying them directly leaves plenty of resources for another position.

Is the Max. 87 Hero SBC Worth Doing?
Complete it if you have spare fodder and several Heroes would improve your team. Skip it if you need one specific player or position.
The pack is more tempting than Max. 86 because the extra 87s add quality across the pitch. But the price has risen too, and there are still plenty of outcomes that will struggle to get into an established squad.
A big market price does not put Coins back into your club. Ramires would be an outstanding pull, but the reward is still untradeable. What matters is whether you will use him.
Before submitting, think about the less exciting results as well as Stam or Matuidi. If most of the pool would go straight to your bench, the pack is hard to recommend as a serious upgrade. If your club is still growing and you can finish it mostly with spares, one attempt is much easier to justify.

Conclusion
The Max. 87 Hero SBC has enough big pulls to be tempting, especially for a growing club with fodder to spare. It is less convincing when you have to buy everything or only a few rewards would make your team. Set a limit, protect your other SBC plans, and judge the pack by more than its best possible outcome.
