The Overall ratings only tell part of the story, though. Some of the biggest names receive small improvements to already strong Base Items, while cards such as Pascal Groß, Vedat Muriqi and Marco Reus get upgrades that directly address major weaknesses.

The huge jumps on some lower-rated cards are consistent with FC 27's Season 1 TOTW upgrade path: Base Items rated 83+ receive +1 OVR, cards from 78–82 receive +2, while players rated 77 or below are boosted to at least 80 OVR.

Michael Olise – A More Complete Elite Creator

Olise only moves from 90 to 91 OVR, so this is not a dramatic transformation. The improvements are still placed in useful areas: Shooting rises by two points to 84, Physical goes from 69 to 71, while Pace, Passing and Dribbling reach 84, 90 and 92 respectively.

His Base Item already excels at creating chances and carrying the ball. TOTW 2 does not change that identity; instead, the extra Shooting makes him slightly more threatening when he cuts inside or receives the ball around the edge of the box. With 92 Dribbling and 90 Passing, he still looks best as a creative wide attacker or advanced playmaker rather than a pure runner.

Raphinha – The ST Switch Is the Real Upgrade

Raphinha receives only a +1 OVR, but his TOTW card is much more interesting because his primary position changes from LW to ST.

His Pace improves from 91 to 92, Passing gets the largest technical jump from 85 to 87, while Shooting reaches 87 and Physical rises to 78. The TOTW card can also play RM, LM, CAM, RW and LW as alternate positions.

That flexibility is arguably more important than the rating increase. With 92 Pace, 87 Shooting, 87 Passing and 88 Dribbling, he can now naturally start through the middle as a mobile striker or second forward while still offering the profile of a winger. The +2 Passing also helps when he drops into pockets instead of simply running behind the back line.

Sophia Wilson – Better Support Around Her Main Strengths

Wilson's Base Item already has the core numbers of a direct striker, and TOTW 2 strengthens them without changing the role.

She reaches 92 Pace, 88 Shooting and 89 Dribbling, while Passing rises from 79 to 81 and Physical from 78 to 80. The TOTW card also retains her valuable 5-star Weak Foot.

The extra Passing and Physical are particularly useful because they give her a little more to work with when the immediate run behind is not available. She is still primarily a fast finisher, but the upgraded card should be more comfortable linking attacks and dealing with contact before getting into shooting positions.

Marquinhos – Small Boosts in the Right Areas

Marquinhos is another +1 card where the distribution matters more than the OVR.

His Pace rises from 74 to 76, Dribbling from 73 to 75, Physical from 78 to 80, and Defending reaches 90.

For a centre-back, those are useful improvements. He already has excellent defensive numbers, so the extra Pace gives him slightly more room to recover against quicker attackers, while the boosts to Dribbling and Physical make the card a little more comfortable when stepping out with the ball or dealing with physical duels.

Pascal Groß – The Biggest Functional Upgrade

Groß may be only 81 OVR, but his card has arguably the most dramatic single stat change in TOTW 2.

His Base Item has just 37 Pace. The In-Form jumps all the way to 70 Pace, while also reaching 86 Passing, 81 Dribbling, 73 Defending and 75 Physical.

That +33 Pace increase fundamentally changes how usable the card looks. Groß was already an excellent passer, but 37 Pace made it difficult to take advantage of that quality in an active midfield role. At 70, he is still not fast, but the mobility gap is far less extreme, making his passing much easier to bring into a CDM or deeper CM setup.

Vedat Muriqi – No Longer Just a Static Target Man

Muriqi's 62 → 75 Pace jump is another upgrade that matters far more than his 81 → 83 OVR suggests.

He also gets 85 Shooting, 75 Dribbling and 85 Physical. More importantly for his profile, the live card has 93 Strength and 93 Heading Accuracy.

At 6'4" with a Lengthy AcceleRATE type, Muriqi is still built to be a physical focal point, but 75 Pace gives him much more freedom to attack space instead of waiting permanently with his back to goal. If you like crossing or using a traditional No. 9, this is a much more practical version of his card.

Reus, Tolisso and Miguel Gutiérrez Also Get Meaningful Upgrades

Marco Reus goes from just 53 Pace to 72, which makes his existing technical strengths far easier to use. Add 83 Shooting, 83 Passing and 82 Dribbling, and his TOTW looks much more workable as a central creator even if he is still not a true pace option.

Tolisso receives a similarly useful all-round boost. Pace rises from 68 to 74 and Dribbling from 76 to 80, alongside 81 Defending and 84 Physical. Instead of dramatically changing one attribute, his TOTW makes him much more balanced for a box-to-box midfield role.

Miguel Gutiérrez is another sleeper. His Pace improves from 79 to 83, Defending from 76 to 80, and Physical jumps from 67 to 74. Those changes directly improve the areas that matter when asking an attacking full-back to handle defensive transitions as well.

Raphinha Is the FC 27 TOTW 2 Community Player

Raphinha is the second TOTW Community Player of FC 27 Season 1. EA allows the community to help shape one selection in each of the first six TOTW squads, with community votes contributing to EA's final choice and the selected card receiving a Community Player marker in-game.

For TOTW 2, that spot goes to Raphinha and his new 89-rated ST card.

The central position change makes this Community Player particularly interesting because it offers something genuinely different from his 88-rated LW Base Item instead of simply adding slightly higher numbers.

What Does TOTW 2 Mean for Ones to Watch?

TOTW selections also matter if the player has an eligible Ones to Watch Item.

In FC 27, an OTW Item receives a +1 OVR upgrade whenever that player earns a qualifying Team of the Week, Star Performer or Player of the Month Item. EA also makes it clear that the OTW card does not simply copy the exact attributes of the new TOTW version; it receives its own +1 OVR upgrade.

That means it is worth checking any relevant OTW Items separately whenever their player appears in a new weekly squad.

How to Get FC 27 TOTW 2 Players

FC 27 TOTW 2 Player Items are available through eligible Ultimate Team Packs while the squad is active. Tradeable versions can also be bought and sold through the Transfer Market. TOTW 2 went live on September 23 and is due to make way for the next weekly squad on September 30.

Are FC 27 TOTW 2 Cards Worth It?

TOTW 2 has two very different types of upgrade.

At the top end, Olise, Raphinha, Wilson, Salah and Marquinhos are stronger versions of Base Items that were already good. Their upgrades mostly add polish rather than completely changing how the cards play. Raphinha stands out most here because moving from LW to ST gives the card extra squad-building and tactical value.

Further down the squad, the raw OVR can actually be misleading. Groß's 37 → 70 Pace, Reus' 53 → 72 Pace and Muriqi's 62 → 75 Pace directly address major limitations of their Base Items. Tolisso and Miguel Gutiérrez also become much more rounded through upgrades spread across Pace, Dribbling, Defending and Physical.

So when judging TOTW 2, do not look at Overall alone. The best upgrade for your squad may be the card whose stat changes fix a real gameplay weakness, rather than simply the highest-rated name.
