Created by Garena, Free fire is a fast-paced mobile battle royale game which used to directly compete against PUBG Mobile during its peak time. Just like most of the battle royale games, players will be parachuted in a single map of 50 players where they will fight for weapons, gear, supplies and ultimately the Booyah!. Other than the perfect game sessions through multiple modes like Battle Royale, Clash Squad and others, the thing that keeps players stuck on Free Fire are the frequent collaboration events.
Free Fire is so advanced when it comes to collaboration events because it’s frequent, loved by players, keeps the battleground fresh and helps players enjoy their gameplay along with their favourite character bundles. Recently, the game is featuring the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration and right after it ends, the highly anticipated crossover between Garena Free Fire and the legendary anime Gintama is set to release. Known for its unique blend of action and comedy, this Free Fire x Gintama collaboration is set to bring a fresh wave of excitement to players worldwide.
Let’s follow LDShop, as in this guide, we will provide you all the leaked information of the collaboration event and all the expected bundles, emotes and limited time rewards.
Release Date
The Free Fire x Gintama collaboration event is released on the first day of your OB53 update in the game. The OB53 update in the advanced server opens on March 20, 2026 and will remain available until April 3, 2026. For the global release, considering a date after 3 April will be the right choice and leaks have it that the global release is expected to be on 8th April, 2026.

Event Overview
Gintama is a popular weekly shounen anime that used to be my childhood favourite anime. The news of Free Fire x Gintama is a big surprise for all the fans because unlike the currently popular anime that are much more dark themed and cool looking, Gintama is one of the most unexpected anime picks to get a collaboration with Free Fire.
The official trailers are already out and I can't just hold my seat anymore. For players in India, they will also get the event release on their Free Fire Max Version. Before we get into the details, let’s have an overview of what the collaboration event will bring for the public.
For the skin bundles, the event will bring the skins of - Gintoki Sakata, Kagura, Elizabeth, Toshiro Hijikata and Shinpachi Shimura. Moreover, we will also get a themed change in the map, emotes and various abilities.

Skin and Emote Reviews
As mentioned before, the Gintama collaboration in Free Fire will offer the main lineup of the Gintama anime series which contains:
Gintoki Sakata
Gintoki Sakata is the main character of the series as the name “Gin” itself suggests. Gintoki’s bundle will be the main bundle of the event and you will have to buy Free Fire Diamonds and spend it on the draw system to obtain the skin. The best platform to get the steam key is LDShop, it lets players get it for less and it is a great way to save money.

Kagura
Next up is the Girl of the Yato clan, Kagura. Kagura is one of the three main leads of Gintama and a part of the Odd Jobs. Her bundle will carry her chinese dress output and will also be a paid one.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth, the one with the duck face is a hilarious bundle and this one seems to be featured as a free or a rather normal bundle. You should definitely try this one because imagine a duck face guy shooting headshots.
Toshiro Hijikata
Toshiro Hijikata, the 2nd in command of the infamous Shinsengumi will most likely be a special bundle just like Gintoki and Kagura. Hijikata’s bundle looks so cool and charming.

Shinpachi Shimura
Lastly, the 3rd member of the Odd Jobs family, Shinpachi Shimura. Shinpachi’s bundle is a mystery as we can not determine whether it will be a normal or a special one.

Emotes
Moreover, there are some other leaks that include emotes such as Sadaharu Ride, Cannon Pose and Kagura.

Map Changes
Just like the recent changes in the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration, you will also get to notice some map changes in the Free Fire x Gintama collaboration. This time, Peak will be modified to look like the Kabuki District (Kabukicho) which is the red-light district in Edo and the main setting of the series. It will feature a large building in the center of it and other structures around it.
Abilities
Coming to the Abilities, there will be 5 new exclusive event abilities for the Free Fire x Gintama collaboration, which are:

Kagura’s Umbrella Shield
Skill: “Yato Clan’s absolute defense”
Kagura opens her umbrella, creating a powerful frontal energy shield. The shield blocks all incoming projectile and melee damage from the front for a duration. While active, the user’s movement speed is slightly reduced, but they gain temporary knockback immunity. The shield lasts for 5 seconds only and has a 45 seconds cooldown.
Gintoki’s Sugar Rush
Skill: “Sugar Rush Overdrive”
Gintoki consumes a massive amount of sugar, entering a hyperactive state. Temporarily boosts movement speed and attack speed significantly. While active, the user is immune to slows and gains a small amount of HP regeneration per second. This effect lasts for 10 seconds and has a cooldown of 60 seconds.
Sadaharu’s Bite
Rarity: Legendary
Skill: “Yorozuya’s Guardian Beast”
Summons Sadaharu to unleash a powerful bite on the nearest enemy within range. The bite deals massive initial damage and inflicts a severe “bleed” effect, causing DOT effect and reducing movement speed of the enemy. While active, the user gains a temporary defense boost. The bleed effect lasts for 5 seconds and the skill has a 50 seconds cooldown.\
Shinpachi’s Straight Man Shout
Rarity: Rare
Skill: “Tsukkomi” Roar
Shinpachi releases a powerful, comedic shout that stuns and silences all nearby enemies. Enemies affected are becoming immobilised or will be unable to use their abilities for a short duration. The shout has a cone-shaped AOE in front of the user. The stun and silence effect lasts for 3 seconds and the skill has a 40 seconds cooldown.
Lake Toya Sword - III
Skill: “Spirit Burn”
The legendary bokuto of Gintoki Sakata, imbued with a powerful, fiery spirit. Equipping this weapon grants an increased attack range and higher base damage. Successful hits have a high chance to inflict the “cermers” to inflict the “Spirit Burn” effect, dealing continuous fire damage over time to the enemy for 5 seconds and subtly revealing their position to the wielder. The flames grow more intense with each strike.
Note that these abilities are not yet confirmed for now and the information is based on the leaks we have received yet.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it seems like Gintoki and his fellows have taken on yet another odd job – this time dropping straight into the chaotic battleground of Free Fire. With the Gintama collaboration, players can expect a perfect mix of humor, action and iconic anime flair, making this crossover a truly exciting experience for both fans.
