Hey Travelers!
Version 6.3 isn’t even done yet, but leaks for Genshin Impact 6.4 are already rolling in.
While some players were hoping for a Mondstadt map expansion, current information suggests Version 6.4 may focus more on characters and story setup rather than new areas.
Here’s everything we know so far—based on early leaks and speculation.
Contents
Genshin 6.4 Release Date
Current estimates place Version 6.4 around February 25 in 2026. Same patch rhythm, same cycle. Pretty straightforward. Multiple leakers now warn that 6.4 might be the final patch before Snezhnaya (Snesna) chapter kicks off. While not confirmed, budget your Primos as if 6.4 were a “chapter finale” banner.
6.4 New Character
Varka

Varka is expected to be a 5-star Anemo Claymore user. He’s a main on-field DPS. Forget support; the "Titan of the Knights of Favonius" is here to deal damage.
Leaks suggest he’s going to feel heavy but fast. We’re expecting heavy–hitbox Anemo slashes with innate infusion. He does NOT require Hexenircle/Hexuray elements (those rumours were scrapped). Leah Hen synergises but isn’t mandatory, so F2P-friendly line-ups stay valid.
The "Dual-Wield" Rumor Becomes True:

This is the most exciting part. There’s deep lore regarding an ancient "Favonius Bladework" style that uses a claymore and a sword simultaneously. Speculation is high that Varka might be the only one strong enough to bring this style back. Imagine a kit where he switches between heavy slams and quick strikes!
Burst creates a “Gale Arena” that pulls smaller mobs and grants Varka temporary 0-cost stance swaps; arena implodes for big Anemo nuke when he exits.
The above pic is the official leaks of Genshin upcoming characters. Varka is the second one, and he is wielding two blades!

Possible Rerun Characters
Flins

Rarity: 5-satr | Element: Electro |Weapon: Polearm
This is Flins’s first rerun, and Lunar-Charged gets a big boost with Columbina in the mix. If you’re planning to invest in Lunar reaction teams, Flins is still a solid pull.
Escoffier

Rarity: 5-satr | Element: Cyro |Weapon: Polearm
Escoffier is one of Skirk’s best dedicated supports/sub-DPS, bringing team-wide healing and strong damage buffs. A standout part of her kit is her passive: the more Hydro and Cryo units you run, the more she can shred Hydro/Cryo RES on enemies hit by her Skill or Burst.
She’s finally getting a rerun, so if you main Escoffier or Skirk, this is a great chance to pick her up.
Varka Weapon Skin
Varka's signature weapon have a new skin, and I believe that Genshin would make it as a reward after we completing Varka's Story Quest. There's a crystal ball in this pic, and I think it would be event weapon and suitable for the upcoming character Nicole.

Dornman Port Won’t Arrive in Version 6.4?

According to recent community leaks and speculation, it appears that Dornman Port might not be making its debut in Version 6.4. While many were hopeful for a Mondstadt expansion, several signs point toward a later release.
With 6.0 and 6.3 already introducing new areas, the remaining map updates are speculated to be reserved for Version 6.5 and 6.8 (or possibly 6.7, depending on how the version cycle concludes). Under this framework, skipping a new map in 6.4 would be a reasonable pacing choice rather than an anomaly.
Additionally, information from Lunar IV previews indicates that HoYoverse may be shifting the development of certain “non-mainline” characters toward World Quests instead of immediate Archon Quest involvement.
If Dornman Port’s associated World Quest, potentially involving characters like Lohen, and possibly Amber’s apprentice—is not scheduled to coincide with a Version 6.5 banner, then the absence of a Mondstadt map expansion in 6.4 becomes easier to understand.

Conclusion
Based on current leaks, Genshin Impact 6.4 is shaping up to be a transitional but highly anticipated update.
While a large-scale Mondstadt map expansion appears unlikely at this stage, leaks consistently point toward the long-awaited debut of the Grandmaster and further groundwork being laid for future Mondstadt content.
