Genshin Impact Version 7.0 launches on August 12, 2026, taking us straight to Snezhnaya — the Tsaritsa's frozen empire, the Fatui's homeland, and the final nation on the Teyvat map. HoYoverse skips 6.8. Version 6.7 serves as the final update for the current arc, after which the game transitions straight into the highly-anticipated Snezhnaya region.

7.0 New Characters

• Odette

Odette is a Cryo-aligned character known as the “Swirling Snow” and serves as the Prima Ballerina of the Korolevskiy Troupe.

She embodies elegance and precision, blending ballet-like grace with combat, and is deeply associated with the imagery of ice, performance, and controlled beauty in the harsh winter of Snezhnaya.

• Alyosha

Alyosha is an Electro-aligned character titled the “Swift-Striding Hound” and the Winter Hunter.

He is portrayed as a relentless tracker of the frozen wilderness, moving swiftly through the harsh northern lands with his companion. His fighting style reflects agility, survival instinct, and a strong connection to the wild and untamed aspects of Snezhnaya.

 

New Mechanic: Stellar Reactions

Every major region has brought a new combat system — Natlan had Nightsoul, Nod-Krai had Lunar Reactions. Snezhnaya introduces Stellar Reactions, which are enhanced Cryo-centric elemental interactions, built around finally making Superconduct worth building.

The most important one for 7.0 is Stellar-Conduct (Cryo + Electro). When triggered, it creates a persistent field on the battlefield. Characters inside who can deal Stellar Superconduct DMG retain that ability, while other Cryo and Electro characters gain a 38% Elemental DMG Bonus. It's a team-wide amplifier, not a single-character bonus.

The evidence for this system is solid: Diona's C6 was quietly updated in 6.6 datamining to include "increases Stellar-Conduct, Superconduct, and Cryo Swirl DMG by 20%" — and then removed from the public build before release. That's exactly how Neuvillette's kit was adjusted before Lunar Reactions were announced.

 

The Tsaritsa

The Cryo Archon, Anastasya Feodorovna Snezhnaya, is confirmed to be a playable character. She is not expected in 7.0 itself — current leaks and community consensus place her in Version 7.2 or 7.3, after the main Archon Quest reaches its climax. Given that all previous Archons debuted in or near their region's story peak, that placement makes sense.

If the Tsaritsa is your target, 7.0 is a Primogem-saving window. Pull Vodyanitsa if she fits your team, skip what doesn't, and stack for the Archon banner when it opens.

The 6.7 banner runs until approximately August 10, with 7.0 launching one days later on August 12. That's a tight handoff. Players rolling for Sandrone and Columbina in 6.7's Phase 1 will need to budget carefully if they also want Vodyanitsa at 7.0 launch.

The cleanest strategy: skip 6.7 Phase 2 (Citlali / Raiden Shogun reruns) unless you specifically need them, and put everything toward 7.0. Six years of Fatui lore are about to pay off — it's worth going in prepared.
