General Introduction

Introduced with the release of the region of Dendro, Sumeru, Dendro is one of the seven elements in Genshin Impact and the element that is released last in the game. It is one of the more reactive elements in the game that heavily relies on Elemental Mastery as the main stat, with all of the elemental reactions with Dendro dealing extra damage based on the user's Elemental Mastery and having Elemental Mastery boosting effects. Additionally, the Dendro Resonance effect also provides Elemental Mastery buffs to the team, helping to boost the damage of these Dendro-related elemental reactions even further.

In the current meta of the game, Dendro is more of a supporting element that helps supplement the damage output of certain teams while also dealing a decent amount of damage themselves. However, the best Dendro centric teams in the meta right now are performing extremely well, such as: Burning Team, Bloom Teams, Hyperbloom and Catalyze Teams. This makes Dendro into a very versatile element to invest in.

Best Burning Teams

Burning teams in Genshin Impact take advantage of Dendro’s reaction when coming into contact with Pyro marks on the enemies, triggering the Burning effect and dealing constant Pyro damage to enemies. During this process, the Pyro mark on the enemies will also be prolonged, allowing players to trigger other Pyro related elemental reactions while Burning is in effect.

Some of the best Burning teams in the game are:

Kinich Burning Team

Kinich

Mavuika

Emilie

Bennett

Main DPS

Sub DPS/ Pyro Enabler

Support/ Dendro Enabler

Support/ Sustain

The Kinich Burning team takes full advantage of Kinich’s powerful damage skill kit that heavily wants the enemies to be under the Burning Elemental Reaction to boost his damage output thanks to his passive. The team consists of Mavuika as the off field Pyro enabler, allowing her to apply periodic Pyro marks on the enemies and trigger her Nightsoul Burst to boost Kinich’s damage even further thanks to his 2nd Ascension Talent. Emille is used in this team to trigger the Dendro resonance and help apply Dendro marks to multiple enemies at once , allowing Mavuika’s off field Pyro to trigger the Burning Reaction immediately for Kinich to take full advantage of when he takes the field. Bennett is the premium buffer in this team to help trigger the Pyro resonance and grants powerful attack buff to Kinich while he is on field, maximizing his damage output.

Please note that due to Kinich’s agile skill kit with a lot of movements, keeping him inside of Bennett’s Elemental Burst circle for his buff might prove to be a difficult task. Therefore, players should practice with Kinich’s Elemental Skill movement to maintain his positioning in this team.

Emilie Burning Team

Emilie

Mavuika

Xilonen

Bennett

Main DPS

Sub DPS/ Pyro Enabler

Support/ Sustain

Support/ Sustain

Despite being a sub DPS for most of the Dendro burning team comps, thanks to her offensive skill kit that gets heavily buffed when there are burning enemies on the field, players can turn Emilie into the main Dendro DPS option of a burning teams with the help of powerful buffers. Like with the Kinich team comp, Mavuika is used as a good off field Pyro enabler that helps to trigger the Burning Elemental Reaction against enemies affected by Emilie’s Dendro Mark. Bennett and Xilonen are strong buffers options that serve to boost Emillie’s damage output massively.

This team can also function as a rotation team with players rotating out Emilie into Mavuika as the main on field DPS, so Mavuika can still be on her DPS build for this team and can still take full advantage of Bennett’s and Xilonen’s buffs when she takes the field.

Best Bloom Teams

Bloom is an elemental reaction that creates powerful Dendro cores on the battleground when Dendro comes into contact with Hydro. These Dendro Cores will remain on the field for a period of time before exploding and dealing Dendro damage to enemies and allies on the battlefield proportional to the Elemental Mastery stat of both the Dendro and Hydro character.

Due to the nature of these dendro cores damaging both enemies and allies on the field, it is important for Bloom teams to have sustain options like healing or shields in the team before attempting to run these teams.

Some of the best Bloom teams are:

Nahida Instant Bloom Team

Nahida

Yelan

Nilou

Baizhu

Main DPS/ Dendro Enabler

Hydro Enabler

Sub DPS/Support

Support/ Sustain

Despite having Nahida as the main on field option for this team, the team’s main damage output sources comes from Nilou’s ability to create special Bountiful Cores that deal damage to everyone on the field instantly upon their creation, with the damage increasing proportionally to both Nahida’s Elemental Mastery and Nilou’s Max HP stat.

Upon using Nilou’s combo to activate her special Hydro auto, players can change to Nahida as the main on field character to apply her Dendro marks on enemies to trigger the blooming effect and uses her normal attacks to constantly generate more Bountiful cores with the help of Yelan’s Elemental Burst that trigger on normal attacks to maximize the damage while Nilou’s Hydro aura is active. For the sustain option, Baizhu is the best option with his powerful Dendro shield that can tank all of the Dendro damage from the Bountiful Cores.

Lauma Lunar Bloom Team

Lauma

Aino

Nilou

Baizhu

Main DPS/ Dendro Enabler

Hydro Enabler

Sub DPS/Support

Support/ Sustain

With the upcoming release of Lauma and the special addition of special Lunar reactions, Lauma promises to be a special brand new Dendro character with the ability to turn the normal Bloom Reaction into Lunar Bloom, helping to boost the damage output of the team’s Bloom reaction proportional to her Elemental Mastery stat. From initial leaked kits, Lauma will run extremely well with Nilou by amplifying her Bountiful Cores by utilizing her special skill kit, replacing Nahida as the on field DPS to constantly apply Dendro and trigger the special Lunar Bloom. To maximize the damage of Lunar reactions and moon phases, Lauma will have to go with the brand new Aino in the same team for maximum Lunar effect. For the sustain option, players can actually choose between Baizhu or Kaveh, with Bazihu providing a good shield for the entire team while Kaveh can heal the entire team when Cores are triggered proportional to his own Elemental Mastery.

F2P Bloom Team

Kaveh

Xingqiu

Dahlia

Kirara

Main DPS

Hydro Enabler

Support

Support/ Sustain/ Dendro Enabler

The F2P Bloom team functions similarly to the Nahida Instant Bloom team by using Kaveh’s unique ability to instantly detonate Dendro cores when he uses his Elemental Skill and his ability to infuse his normal attacks with the Dendro element, helping to facilitate the Blooming reaction while on field with the help of Xingqiu. The main sustain option for the team will be Kirara, functioning to Baizhu by providing the team with a powerful Dendro shield that absorbs Dendro better. For the last member of the team, players can buff Kaveh’s normal attack damage output with the help of Dahlia if players have him at C6.

Best Catalyze Teams

Aside from Hyperbloom, another reaction between Electro and Dendro that can be triggered directly is Catalyze, which massively boost the Dendro or Electro damage of the next attack dealt to the enemies when they are affected by both the Dendro and Electro marks. This elemental reaction function is similar to Vaporize and Melt in that it directly increases the Dendro damage instance of the attack, helping to amplify the damage output of the Dendro main DPS.

The best Catalyze teams for Dendro main DPS options are:

Alhaitham Catalyze Team

Alhaitham

Yae Miko

Nahida

Zhongli

Main DPS

Sub DPS/ Electro Enabler

Support/ Dendro Enabler

Support/ Sustain

Alhaitham Catalyze team works on the basis of using Nahida’s long lasting Dendro mark on the enemies and Yae Miko’s off field Electro application to trigger the Quicken effect on the enemies, allowing Alhaitham to trigger the Catalyze reaction and boosting his Dendro damage output when he takes the field. This team can further be supplemented with the help of Zhongli’s shield to improve Alhaitham’s survivability and interruption resistances to allow him to finish his combo comfortably.

Tighnari Catalyze Team

Tighnari

Yae Miko

Nahida

Zhongli

Main DPS

Sub DPS/ Electro Enabler

Support/ Dendro Enabler

Support/ Sustain

Functioning almost identical to Alhaitham’s Catalyze team, the Tighnari’s Catalyze team also take advantage of Nahida and Yae Miko’s off field abilities to trigger the Quicken effects on the enemies for Tighnari to use his Charge Attacks against them, triggering the Catalyze reaction and massively boost his Dendro damage.

Best Hyperbloom Teams

The Hyperbloom teams are essentially Bloom teams with an extra step by applying Electro to the Dendro cores on the battlefield, instantly turning them into special Dendro bullets to deal damage to enemies instantly rather than waiting for them to detonate. The Dendro bullets that are triggered will deal damage proportional to the Elemental Mastery of all characters involved in the reaction process.

Some of the best teams for the Hyperbloom reaction includes:

Alhaitham Hyperbloom Team

Alhaitham

Yelan

Nahida

Shinobu

Main DPS

Sub DPS/ Hydro Enabler

Support/ Dendro Enabler

Support/ Sustain/ Electro Enabler

Working somewhat similar to the Alhaitham Catalyze team, the Alhaitham Hyperbloom team focuses a bit more on using Alhaitham’s Dendro infused attacks to generate as much Dendro cores on the ground that can be converted into Dendro bullets with the Hyperbloom Reaction rather than Alhaitham’s Dendro damage itself against the enemies. Nahida is used on the team for her long lasting Dendro marks on enemies, with Alhaitham taking the field and dealing Dendro damage to enemies while under Yelan’s elemental burst, helping to generate Dendro cores on the ground extremely quickly. Finally, Shinobu can trigger the Dendro cores on the field with her special Electro rings when she is on or off field, allowing the Dendro bullets to deal additional damage to enemies thanks to Shinobu’s high Elemental Mastery build.

F2P Hyperbloom Team

Kaveh

Xingqiu

Kirara

Shinobu

Main DPS

Sub DPS/ Hydro Enabler

Support/ Dendro Enabler

Support/ Sustain/ Electro Enabler

The F2P Hyperbloom team takes advantage of Kaveh’s ability to infuse his normal attacks with Dendro element, allowing him to trigger Xingqiu’s elemental burst with normal attacks to generate Dendro cores on the field. Instead of using Kaveh’s elemental skill in this comp however, the Dendro cores will be triggered by Shinobu’s off field Electro ring to be turned into Dendro bullets, dealing Dendro damage to enemies proportional to Shinobu’s Elemental Mastery. For the last member of the team, Yao Yao or Kirara are highly recommended to complete the Dendro Resonance effect for the team while also granting the team extra sustain options in the form of healing in Yao Yao’s case or Dendro shield in Kirara’s case.
