Elementalist Overview

Elementalist Crystal of Atlan

Class Type

Basic Class

Advanced Class

Magister

The Elementalist is an Advanced Class in Crystal of Atlan, designed for ranged combat. Most of its 17 abilities (3 finishers + 14 regular) can be cast from long or medium range, with a few best used up close. Its basic attack also has long range, allowing consistent damage from afar. Despite being ranged-focused, the Elementalist can still handle close combat thanks to flexible casting and dash skills. The Elementalist has a good mix between extensive AoE skills and abilities that can focus on smaller groups of enemies.

How Elementalist Works:

The Elementalist revolves around Thundercore spheres—the more you have, the faster your skills cooldown (thanks to Thundercore Drive, unlocked at Lv. 45).

Use Lord of Thunder to instantly max out your spheres, then chain fast skills like Icy Thrust and Vortex to pressure enemies nonstop. Add in big AoE spells, and you’ve got a fast-paced, high-damage playstyle that’s all about rhythm and relentless casting.

PVE Build Breakdown

Key Traits

  • Great AOE and fast mob clearing
  • Thunder Core mechanic is central to maximizing damage
  • Skill spam is highly effective

Key skills in PvE setup

Falling Stars

  • Main DPS skill.
  • Long-range, wide AoE, deals consistent damage with burn effect.
  • Best used from a distance to apply pressure.

Thunderbolt Bird

  • Great combo extender
  • Chains smoothly with most skills for sustained pressure.

Mana Surge

  • Quick dash and damage skill
  • useful for chasing or countering after knockdowns

Icy Thrust

  • Slower cast
  • Safe to use after dodging an enemy's attack

Lava Eruption

  • Burst damage tool.
  • Pairs well with follow-up skills like Falling Stars or Mana Surge.

Punishment of Frost

  • High damage, high risk.
  • Continuously drains stamina/energy while active.
  • Cast in mid-air for instant activation and auto-aim benefits.

**Skill choices focus on those enhanced by the best-in-slot gear, especially those benefiting from Cryo-enhanced effects.

The player activates Lord of Thunder before fights for extra DPS and favors Meteor as a powerful, favorite skill. The Ionic Barrier and Mana Surge combo, with upgrades on dash, is used as a mobility and defensive tool. The Thunder Core Conversion skill can be charged up to 6 seconds to create a large thundercloud, but charging isn’t strictly necessary due to aerial combos.

Most Elementalist skills improve when cast in the air (jump-casting), with better range, faster cast, and auto-aim features.

Overall, the PvE skill setup is simple and easy to use, optimized for efficiency and comfort during farming.

PVE Elementalist Crystal of Atlan

PVP Build Breakdown

Skill Setup & Recommendations

Icy Thrust

  • Max this skill for lower cooldown and bonus crit rate (important since PvP gear lacks crit stats).
  • Use in the air to maximize accuracy and range.
  • Ideal combo: Thunder Core → Air Jump → Icy Thrust → Lightning → Meteor

Mana Surge

  • Best used when recovering from knockdowns or chasing stamina-drained enemies.
  • Can be comboed with Lava Eruption or Lightning Eagle for follow-ups.

Lava Eruption

  • A solid alternative to Punishment of Frost, offering medium super armor.
  • Use defensively or to interrupt enemy aggression.

Spiritual Harness

  • Boosts energy efficiency and skill responsiveness. Core to sustained casting.

Lightning Blade

  • Enhance damage output when focusing on Falling Stars, Lava Eruption, or Thunderbolt Bird.

Cooldown / Damage Boost Passives

  • Improve uptime and overall pressure.

Cryo-Enhanced Gear (Eye Skill Focus)

  • Skills like Punishment of Frost benefit greatly from gear that amplifies Cryo effects.
  • Prioritize gear that specifically buffs skills you frequently use (check armor-enhanced skill list).

Additional Info About Skills (Things You Should Consider on Your Build)

  • Most skills get stronger when used mid-air. For example, Punishment of Frost becomes instant-cast and auto-aims at enemies.
  • Thunder Core Conversion hits hardest after 6 seconds of charging, but you can jump to release it instantly.
  • Dash + Mana Surge is your go-to combo for quick movement — great for chasing or escaping.

PVP Combat Tips & Mechanics

Role & Strategy Overview

Role: A ranged spellcaster with high DPS but limited super armor and defensive options.

Weakness: Vulnerable to close-range burst classes like Cloud Strider and Star Breaker.

Opening: Cast Lord of Thunder immediately to generate Thunder Cores and set up your resource engine.

Stamina Management: Avoid using Dash early; let stamina recover naturally. Save Dash as a defensive escape.

Engagement: Start passively, gauge your opponent’s habits, and look for safe spell opportunities.

Core Tactics:

  • Maintain distance and avoid direct engagements.
  • Frequently use aerial casting to benefit from auto-aim and safer positioning.
  • Focus on chipping away at enemies rather than committing to all-ins.

Final-Hit Skill (Quick Ice Cast):

  • Excellent for finishing off fleeing enemies due to its fast activation and high accuracy.

Mechanics & Micro Tips

Jump-Casting

  • Improves skill range, auto-aim, and makes your attacks harder to predict.

Tornado

  • Can be manually directed with your mouse cursor—use this to zone or kite.

Dash Awareness

  • Dash is your last line of defense—don’t waste it.
  • Skilled players may bait your Dash with movement tricks. Watch for jump feints, especially from Star Breakers.

Avoid Charge Skills

  • Charge-based skills are high risk in PvP and can be easily interrupted. Stick to fast, reliable casts.

PVP Skill Rotation

Lord of Thunder  Vortex Thunderbolt Bird  Icy Thrust  Vortex  Punishment of Frost  Icy Thrust  Falling Stars  Vortex  Spiritual Harness - Thunder  Icy Thrust

You can then sort the AoE attacks as you wish. The best ones of the bunch are Falling Stars and Spiritual Harness - Thunder. Still, those have relatively long cooldowns even if they are affected by the Thundercore cooldown reduction, so it's better to have them in the same column while you keep using Thunderbolt Bird and Punishment of Frost.

You'll use Lord of Thunder as often as possible, while the ability in the second row is up to you. You can keep yourself very aggressive by using Lava Eruption, or play it safer when you don't have Lord of Thunder by using Ionic Barrier, which sets a shield on you. You can even use Lightning Blade and aim far from your enemies if you want an extra dash to avoid damage; that's entirely up to your playstyle.

Conclusion

Whether you're grinding through Abyssal Purgatory or pushing up the PvP ranks, the Elementalist offers a flashy, fluid, and deeply satisfying gameplay experience when properly built.
