Is Aino a Useful 4-Star Support? Genshin Impact 6.0

The Nod-Krai beta is finally out, introducing new regional mechanics and characters. Aino will be the new 4-star character coming in Version 6.0. Since she's the first 4-star from this new region, she will likely be given out for free to all players ( To Be Determined).

Is she a useful character for the Nod-Krai meta? Let's look at her early beta kit and see how good she might be.

Aino Overview

Rarity: 4★ Element: Hydro Role: Support Region: Nod-Krai

Aino is a member of the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop, a faction in Nod-Krai. This organization, introduced during the Song of the Welkin Moon event, is celebrated across the region for its expertise in crafting intricate mechanical creations.

While Aino is not particularly strong in dealing damage or providing buffs, her main value lies in enabling the Ascendant Gleam Moon Sign, which requires two Nod-Krai characters in a team. Activating this Moon Sign unlocks the full effects of Nod-Krai artifact sets, weapons, and passive abilities, making her an important utility support for Nod-Krai teams.

Aino Mechanic Analysis

Special Mechanic - Moon Sign

The key team-building mechanic for Nod-Krai characters is called Moon Sign.

• 1 Nod-Krai character → Nascent Gleam Moon Sign
• 2 Nod-Krai characters → Ascendant Gleam Moon Sign

Higher-level Moon Signs unlock stronger buffs from Nod-Krai artifact weapons, sets and talents. You also keep the bonuses from lower levels unless stated otherwise.

For example: With 2 Nod-Krai (Ascendant Gleam), you get both the crit bonus and extra crit for Lunar Bloom damage. So it is strongly recommended that you have at least two Nod-Krai characters in a team.

Basic Kit Information

Weapon: Hydro Claymore

Ascension Stat: Elemental Mastery (first Hydro Claymore with Elemental Mastery buffs)

Element Skill (E): Grapples to an enemy (similar to Keqing's skill). Generates 3 Hydro particles.

Element Burst (Q): Summons a robot ducky that applies Hydro.

Base: Hits every 1.5s → Hydro every 3s on one target.

With C1 Passive (2+ Nod-Krai characters):

• Larger AoE and range
• Hits every 0.7s, applying Hydro every 2.1s (similar to Kokomi's off-field Hydro application)

C4 Passive: Burst damage boosted by 50% of EM, but still low overall.

Constellations

C1: +80 EM for 15s after Skill/Burst

C2: Off-field Burst fires extra Hydro attack every 5s when active character hits an enemy (extra Hydro application)

C3: +3 Burst talent levels

C4: Skill grants +10 flat energy

C5: +3 Skill talent levels

C6: With 2+ Nod-Krai characters, grants 35% Lunar Reaction DMG bonus for 15s after Burst (biggest team buff)

C2 is good for extra Hydro in Bloom teams. C6 is her major value spike.

Aino Best Teams

Main role: Ensure 2 Nod-Krai characters are in the party to unlock set/kit bonuses.

With C6: One of the best supports for Flins / Ineffa teams (comparable to C0 Yelan but scales better with investment).

Nu Bloom (with Lauma): Enables Nod-Krai artifact bonuses + Lunar Bloom crit buffs.

Flex support: Can pair with another Nod-Krai to enable Nod-Krai DPS set for non-Nod-Krai carries like Alhaitham.

 

Final Thoughts

Aino is a functional  free 4-star support. She is especially useful in the early stages of new Nod-Krai teams, but she is not a long-term must-pull unless you plan to invest in reaching her C6.
