Should I Pull Hysilens' Light Cone? │HSR

Hysilens is a new character who gets her debut in Honkai: Star Trail Version 3.5. Her signature Light Cone, “Why Does the Ocean Sing”, arrives alongside her and will be featured in the Brilliant Fixation banner beginning on August 13 and running through September 2.

Stats breakdown

• At level 80, HP is 952, the lowest among the 5-star Nihility Light Cones.
• At level 80, her ATK is 635, the highest among the Nihility Light Cones and equal to Acheron's signature cones, “Along the Passing Shore”.
• DoT damage is affected by the ATK damage multiplier, so the higher the ATK damage, the higher the DoT damage.
• The DEF Shred at level 80 is 463, the second lowest among the 5-star Nihility Light Cones.

Hysilens’ Talent, Sirenic Serenade, grants her the ability to inflict one of four DoT debuffs—Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn or Shock—on enemies when an ally attacks. This effect has a 100% base chance to trigger prioritizes applying a debuff that the enemy isn’t already afflicted with. "Why Does the Ocean Sing" is a powerful Light Cone that increases Hysilens’ performance. Though it offers comparatively low HP and Defence, Hysilens’ kit includes ways to mitigate incoming damage, helping compensate for her fragility.

 

Signature Light Cone (Superimposing Level 1)

• Solo increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 40%. Hysilens’ bonus ability, The Fiddle of Pearls, grants a full 90% damage bonus when its Effect Hit Rate 120%. If your special weapon enhances Effect Hit Rate, you can more easily achieve the target.

• There is 80% chance for the enemy to enter “Enthrallment”, lasting for 3 turns. While the target is in “Enthrallment”, for every 1 debuff applied by the wearer on the target, increases the target’s DoT by 5%, stacking up to 6 times.
• When the target gets attacked by an ally, increases the attackers’ SPD by 10% for 3 turns. When the wearer gets knocked down, removes all “Enthrallment”.
• The speed of the DoT team characters is very useful, as faster speed means stronger DoT-dealing ability. For the Detonator Kafka, speed is even more important: the faster the speed, the more action turns she can take, and the more times she can detonate DoTs.

In summary, “Why Does the Ocean Sing” has three main effects: it stacks the effect hit panel of Heather Sound, increases the Dot damage taken by enemies by 30%, and speeds up the entire team by 10%.

 

Pulling advice

• Integrating Kafka into a team with Hysilens is highly recommended for optimizing DoT strategies. Kafka’s enhanced abilities in Version 3.4 make her an exceptional DoT support, and paring her with Hysilens can significantly amplify your team’s DMG output.
• Pulling for Hysilens’ signature Light Corn is not essential as you have plenty of effective alternatives. Just select a Light Cone with the right effect to fit your team and playstyle.
• Jiaoqiu's signature Light Cone, Those Many Springes, increases Effect Hit Rate by up to 60% and applies the “Unarmoured” debuff with a 60% base chance, increasing DMG taken by the enemy by 10-18% depending on the level. As for Jiaoqiu’s SPD, you can hit any breakpoint as long as he goes first before your DPS in the turn order.

• Black Swan’s signature Light Cone, Reforged Remembrance, enhances the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 40%. Her 4 DoTs will let Arcana stack up, and having another detonator in the team will allow for even more stacking and damage. You will see max Arcana explosions quite regularly.

• Pull for Black Swan if you want to give a huge upgrade to your DoT teams, especially of you have Kafka, making it a Triple DoT team.

• A 4-Star Light Cone, Eyes of the Prey, boosts effect Hit Rate and increases DoT. When superimposed to Level 5, its Effect Hit Rate bonus reaches 40%, and DoT is increased by 48%.

• Hysilens’ primary soul grants a unique enhancement: an independent multiplier that boosts sustained damage and doubles the number of DoTs triggered by her talents. More DoTs translate into more total damage, and they can also spawn additional physical DoTs from Hysilens’ finisher and stack Arcana effects from Black Swan.
• For pulling Hysilens, consider a “E0S0” or “E1S0”, either skipping the first phase entirely or pulling just once.
