Animaters & Anima Revealed
Animaters (Characters)
According to information released on the official site, the Animaters (trainers of Nexus Anima) are currently divided into three categories: Sovereigns, Novarchs, and Others. Sovereigns are likely the top-tier opponents in Nexus Anima, while Novarchs may serve a role similar to Pokémon Gym Leaders. The “Others” category seems to include a variety of unique characters we’ll encounter on our journey.
Sovereigns
Order? Seven? The world demands its seven days of rest!
Novarchs
Familiar faces return! Blade from Honkai: Star Rail and Kiana from Honkai Impact 3rd will make appearances here.
Others
Of course, the game’s official mascot has also made her debut!

Nexus Anima (Creatures)
Many Anima have already been showcased, and as the game’s core combat units, they come with two key attributes:
Aspect
One aspect of the bonding system, similar to “elemental attributes” in other games. Matching Aspects between companions can trigger powerful effects. Unlike Traits, Aspects also seem tied to an Anima’s personality.
Trait
Another bonding element, comparable to “character paths” in other titles. Traits typically have a stronger impact on combat power.

PV & Gameplay Showcase
📺 Nexus Bond Teaser: Side by Side | Honkai: Nexus Anima
On August 29, the first PV for Honkai: Nexus Anima premiered across platforms, highlighting a peaceful world where humans and Anima live in harmony. But of course, nothing is ever so simple — this is Honkai, after all.
Interestingly, the PV briefly flashes several in-game icons, each resembling a Aspect symbol framed like a badge. Could these be “Aspect Badges” tied to different challenges, hinting at Gym-style trials?
📺 In-game footage from Honkai: Nexus Anima
The official gameplay footage reveals Nexus Anima’s core loop: open-world exploration, auto-chess combat, and side activities tied to both characters and Anima. While many players expected these gameplay, there were also some surprises — such as character customization, allowing players to craft their very own protagonist.
In the open world, Anima can even serve as mounts, making exploration smoother and more dynamic. Meanwhile, in the Auto-chess battles, Anima take center stage as primary fighters, with characters providing unique buffs. Before each battle, players can use consumables called Nexus Threads to grant temporary boosts — a system familiar to veterans of auto-chess style games.
