PV Analysis
Interaction
Based on the UI interface shown in the gameplay PV, there are interaction buttons in the top-left, top-right, and bottom-right corners. The PV first demonstrates the functions of the bottom-right interaction buttons.
- "E" Key: Controls the Anima to release skills and interact with NPCs.
- "R" Key: Interacts with Anima, utilizing their abilities such as flying, gliding, or surfing to overcome terrain obstacles and explore the world.
- "Shift" Key: Activates a dash or sprint (available when the player is walking alone or interacting with any Anima).
- "Ctrl" Key: When interacting with flying-type Anima, pressing "Ctrl" causes descent (this button is not displayed in other situations).
- "Space" Key: When interacting with flying-type Anima, pressing "Space" causes ascent (this button is not displayed in other situations).
The top-left corner of the interface features a mini-map and four interaction buttons, though their specific functions were not revealed. The top-right corner has seven interaction buttons, with the PV only showing the fourth button from the left, labeled "Transform."
Character Customization System
Upon clicking the "Transform" button, players can access the character customization system. Here, they can adjust various aspects of their character's appearance, including body type, facial presets, hairstyle, eyebrows, eyes, nose, ears, and clothing.

Anima
In terms of Anima mechanics, if aAnima approaches the player on its own, it will not trigger a confrontation. Only the player can initiate a "confrontation" by pressing the "F" key. However, in the wild, some "aggressive" Anima might actively initiate confrontations.
The player character can also use the "F" key to interact with Anima in a playful manner, which increases friendship levels with them. As friendship grows, the probability of successfully capturing the Anima may increase. Capturing Anima is achieved through auto chess gameplay, and while the PV only showcased PVE elements, it remains unclear whether PVP will be included.
Similar to traditional auto chess games, Honkai: Nexus Anima features battle Anima, equipment, "Hextech"-like enhancement options, and faction synergies. During battles, players must deploy a certain number of Anima to compete against enemy Anima. Equipment can be assigned to Anima to provide stat bonuses, and faction synergies can be activated to grant additional effects. Notably, battle Anima in the game display level numbers above their heads, indicating that this is not a synthesis-based auto chess game. Instead, the player's out-of-battle cultivation of Anima may influence their stats.
From the Hextech enhancements shown in the gameplay PV, effects such as dual resistance bonuses are included, suggesting that Anima positioning plays a role in battles. Additionally, the player character may possess skills that provide bonuses to specific or exclusive Anima.
After achieving victory, players can register the Anima in their collection. The Anima illustrated book displays various attributes and elements of each Anima, such as name, star rating, aspect, and traits……
Beyond these features, players can also interact with surrounding structures and NPCs, as well as manipulate elements like day-night cycles.
