Currency Wars will be a new permanent game mode arriving in Version 3.7, scheduled for release on November 4, 2025 (UTC-5).
Gameplay Overview
Currency Wars will debut in Version 3.7 as a large-scale, permanent game mode. Designed as a sandbox for team-building and experimentation, it features 10-person squads, front/back row positioning, and exclusive abilities that activate when characters are placed correctly or combined into specific synergies.
The mode feels like a deck-building or trading card game: players gather and level up characters, trigger combo bonuses, and fight waves of PvE enemies instead of going against other players. Early signs suggest it is aimed at experienced players who enjoy planning and strategy, with a focus on team synergies, balance, and long-term replay value. Full details are not yet available, but Currency Wars looks set to become the game’s next big endgame feature.
Core Gameplay Features
Team Composition
Form a Team
- Form an 8–10 person squad to battle and defeat opponents.
- Characters have three possible positions: Front Row, Back Row, or Flexible (usable in either).
- Front Row Empowerment: Strengthens or unlocks new combat skills.
- Back Row Empowerment: Automatically casts enhanced skills to attack enemies or support allies.
Characters & Progression
- Three characters of the same star level will automatically merge into a higher-star unit, greatly boosting combat power. 3★ is the strongest form, and Empowerment effects are also enhanced after upgrading.
- Owned characters retain their progression data; unowned ones are recruited as trial characters.
- Characters below the required progression standard are automatically strengthened and marked with a mapping tag.
Economy System
- Cost: Characters are purchased with Coins, ranging from 1–5 cost. Higher cost means stronger base power.
- Higher player levels increase the chance of higher-cost characters appearing.
- Coin Income = Base Coins + Win Streak Bonus + Interest.
- For every 10 Coins saved, gain +1 bonus Coin (up to +3). Saving wisely is a key way to strengthen your economy.
Equipment System
- Two basic items can be combined into one advanced item.
- Advanced items retain the base stats of their components and also provide powerful unique effects.
- Prioritize equipping your main DPS (usually a high-cost, high-star carry) with 3 advanced items.
Combat Mechanics
Battle Rules
- Defeat all enemies before the timer runs out → Victory, earning win streak progress and coin rewards.
- Fail to clear enemies in time → Defeat, your squad takes damage; when HP reaches 0, the test ends.
Buffs apply to entire teams rather than individual characters.
Different factions may receive unique faction-based buffs.
Try Out Gameplay-Exclusive Abilities
Characters may receive adjusted or exclusive skill kits, even with new animations (e.g., Firefly's boss move being repurposed as a usable skill).
New buff categories may appear, such as:
- Buffs for shield-breaking characters
- Buffs for Stellaron Hunters
Certain 4-star characters may be greatly enhanced to serve crucial roles in this mode.
*In the Currency Wars mode, Firefly receives a new Ultimate animation. (According to tester feedback, so far only Firefly has a newly added skill animation in this mode, with no similar updates observed for other characters.)
Currency Wars Point System
- At the end of each run, you’ll earn points based on your progress in Currency Wars. Accumulated points can be exchanged for rewards such as Stellar Jades and Fuel.
- Point rewards reset every other Monday at 04:00 (server time).
Currency War Rewards
Like Pure Fiction and Simulated Universe, this will be a repeatable endgame activity with both weekly and seasonal rewards.
- Weekly rewards (Independent shop and currency, separate from Simulated Universe, Pure Fiction, and Anomaly Arbitration.)
- Seasonal rewards (lasting about six weeks, same as the Battle Pass)
