Exotale: Scene 8 Analysis

This amazing trailer that heavily expands the lore of HSR both in terms of expanding on existing lores that players might have not known from story quests and side quests currently in the game, special alternate endings to our beloved characters and protagonists, to even pointing out the possible outcomes and endings for the upcoming endings to the Amphoerus saga in Honkai Star Rail version 3.7 Update patch. Stellaron Hunters & Elio’s Scripts

One thing you may curious about is the suspicious lack of Stellaron Hunter involvement in the entirety of the main story, especially when the Stellaron Hunters often appear together with the Astral Express to guide the Trailblazerr to follow Elio’s special scripts.

Well in this trailer, we finally get our answer with the appearance of Silver Wolf, Kafka, Blade, and a possibly surprise appearance of Elio himself - The black cat. As narrated by Kafka, the Stellaron Hunters have been monitoring and watching over the Trailblazerr’s journey of Amphoerus and that this journey has been following the least disastrous path for astral express themselves and the entire cosmos.

This heavily implies and emphasizes the fact that Elio’s scripts are not set in stone and variables can exist with different outcomes for the future. Also, to avoid more disastrous outcomes, the Stellaron Hunters would manipulate different factors to lead the Trailblazerr to follow in the least disastrous script possible. This aligns with their goal as followers of the Finality.

Additionally, thanks to all the visual clues surrounding the Black Cat, it is heavily implied that black cat is Elio himself or at least is an entity that is linked to Elio and has the ability to observe different possibilities and outcomes depending on its eyes. It would be a very interesting reveal if we find out that Elio, the leader of the Stellaron Hunter we have known so long, turns out to be the Black Cat hidden in plain sight.

 

Alternate Choices & Disastrous Outcomes

At the end of Penacony and at the start of the Amphoreus Saga, the Astral Express crew have the choice to go to different planets aside from Amphoreus as their next journey destination. Ultimately, everyone decided to go to Amphoreus to refuel on Trailblazer Energy as per Black Swan’s suggestion, which leads to the current main story of Amphoreus. However, with this new trailer, we finally get a glimpse of what would have happened if the Express decided to visit the other planets instead, with all of the outcomes being extremely disastrous.

The first choice was to go to the Oceanic Planet of Lushaka, the home planet of Mikail. If the Express were to go to this planet, they would have experienced a wonderful and peaceful sea voyage adventure and continue on with their Trailblazer. However, this will leads to the Amphoreus disaster not being resolved, leading to the Remembrance releasing the completed Lord Ravager Irontomb from the confine of Amphoreus and directly leads to the premature end of The Herta, with Irontomb assimilating her as its head and start the third Emperor War on the Cosmos.

The second choice was to go to the Agate World, also known as Melustanin, ground zero of the Stellaron disaster. If the Express were to go to this planet, several important events would have happened. The Express will narrowly avoid direct confrontation of another Lord Ravager Celanova, but without Irontomb occupying the attention of all Lord Ravagers, Celanova will continue her campaign in full.

Unlike the current timeline where Celanova ceased her campaign and the Xianzhou Alliance is only considering Jingliu’s proposal, if Celanova’s campaign was to continue in its full force, the Xianzhou Alliance would have stray from the Trailblazer’s help and accepted Jingliu’s proposal, allowing her to assimilate the Lightning Lord with Tazzyroth’s remains and the power of destruction to become the 8th Lord Ravager in an attempt for an all out war against the Abundance, starting the Aeon War.

The last choice is to go to the Glass Belt Patrevia, where the Express will be met with the Mourning Actors and meet with the most tragic fate in the hands of the strongest foe - the Lord Ravager Zephyros. If this were to happen, the entire Astral Express would have been annihilated in the worst way possible, with Welt facing Zephyros at the end of the script, clashing against Zephyros’ White hole with his Black hole, resulting in the rupturing of the entire cosmos.

All three of these outcomes highlight 2 things: the first important thing is that going to Amphoreus is the least disastrous choice out of all of the possible outcomes and even if Black Swan did not influence the Express to choose this possibility, it is highly possible that the Stelleron Hunters would have intervened to ensure this outcome.

The second point that has a lot more implications is that in all possibilities, the Astral Express will have to face a Lord Ravager or a possible Lord Ravager. This emphasizes the fact that the Trailblazer and the Destruction will always face each other and the result of these clashes will shape the end of the Cosmos.

 

Amphoreus Possible Endings

With the possible outcomes of their choices being explored, now that the Trailblazerr have reached the end of Amphoreus, Elio’s Script suggests only 2 outcomes for the end of Amphoreus, with each having different consequences for the Cosmos.

The first outcome, known as possibility A, is that at the end of everything and once we have successfully prevented the rise of Irontomb, to ensure the safety of the cosmos and everyone else, the Trailblazerr will need to sacrifice Amphoreus and erase the existence of all Chrysos Heirs and people of Amphoreus themselves. It is heavily suggested that this is the ending that would likely happen, as it will have the least disastrous impact on the cosmos at large.

The second outcome of the story or possibility B, is the freezing of all of Amphoreus using the power of Remembrance. Upon choosing this outcome, the Trailblazer will be able to preserve the memory and existence of the people of Amphoreus for as long as possible. However, this will also lead to the Remembrance becoming the 4th kind of Finality, resulting in a disastrous end for the entire cosmos at the end of time.

As known from the 3.6 Story Quest, at the end of time, where the Aeon War breaks out, there will be 4 paths that signifies the end of the Cosmos: Destruction, Harmony, Nihility and a blank path. It heavily implies that depending on your choices and adventure, the fourth path that will lead to the end of the cosmos can change depending on your decisions. With this, if the Trailblazerr were to choose possibility B and freeze the entirety of Amphoreus, the Remembrance will become that 4th path and leads the cosmos to a different kind of Finality.

Cyrene’s Special Role

Finally, let’s touch on the last part of the trailer and one that involves that last piece of the puzzle: Cyrene.

As it is referenced in Version 3.6 Story Quest, it is heavily implied that Cyrene, alongside Evernight, is a seed of the Remembrance and is directly linked to Fuli, the Remembrance itself. Due to this, it is not farfetched to speculate that she will have special abilities that involve the manipulation of Memories, as this is the specialty of the followers of the Remembrance and members of the Garden of Recollection.

It is important to note that in the trailer, the script’s choices only involve the Trailblazerr’s choices, with their choice directly affecting the fate of Amphoreus and the cosmos. However, perhaps Cyrene’s role in all of this will allow us to have a semi-happy ending with the help of her power, writing up a better ending for the story, or as she puts it, a romantic story no one has ever seen before.

Perhaps with Cyrene’s power on our side, despite having to delete all of Amphoreus for the sake of the cosmos, maybe we will be able to meet with our Chrysos Heir friends in other forms such as Memetic entities. Writing a proper end for the Amphoreus saga and the chronicle of the Chrysos Heirs.
