If you pulled Rin Tohsaka, congratulations — you've got a six-pack fighter who can deal damage, buff the team, and pop off all on her own. But if you build her wrong... sorry, she's just a basic attack bot that throws gems. This guide will give you the chance to really get to know her!

Rin Tohsaka Overview

Rarity: 5-Star | Path: Erudition | Type: Quantum
Rin Tohsaka is a Quantum damage dealer whose whole gimmick is "burn skill points to fuel Gem Energy, then go nuclear." She keeps stealing Gem Energy whenever allies spend or recover skill points, and once she hits 15 energy or 7+ skill points, her skill upgrades into "Second Magic Experiment" — an AoE opener followed by up to 33 random single-target jewel bombs that can delete an enemy from full HP if RNG loves you. Her ultimate gives back 1 skill point, slaps 25% vulnerability on everyone, and throws in 12 free Gem Energy. If Archer is on the team, they'll launch a joint follow-up attack that hits all enemies and recovers 4 skill points. Upgrade priority: Talent first (no gems = no fun), then Skill, then Ultimate. Basic attack exists, but we don't talk about basic attack.
Rin Tohsaka Skill Priority
Talent > Skill > Ultimate > Basic ATK
Rin's core damage comes from her enhanced Skill, and her Talent directly determines whether you can use the enhanced Skill, how often you can use it, and how high her Crit DMG is — without leveling the Talent, the enhanced Skill can't even be activated. The Skill determines the damage multipliers of the enhanced version, making it her main damage source. The Ultimate is a burst + energy battery, so its priority is lower than the first two. The Basic ATK is just a filler when you have no Skill Points — completely unimportant.
Rin Tohsaka Skill Kit
Basic ATK

- Bajiquan
Deals Quantum DMG equal to 140% of Rin Tohsaka's ATK to one designated enemy target.
Skill
- Jeweled Sword Zelretch
Deals Quantum DMG equal to 225% of Rin Tohsaka's ATK to one designated enemy target.

- Second Magic Experiment
Deals Quantum DMG equal to 112% of Rin Tohsaka's ATK to all enemies. Then, consumes 3 points of "Gem Energy" to deal additional Quantum DMG equal to 112.5% of Rin Tohsaka's ATK to one random enemy target. This repeats until "Gem Energy" is less than 3 or there are no enemy targets with current HP greater than 0, up to a maximum of 33 times. When used, if current Skill Points are greater than 2, consumes Skill Points until only 2 points left, immediately gaining 2 points of "Gem Energy" for every 1 Skill Point consumed.
Ultimate

- An Gal Ta Ki Gal Šè
Deals Quantum DMG equal to 750% of Rin Tohsaka's ATK to a single designated enemy, and Quantum DMG equal to 250% of Rin Tohsaka's ATK to other enemy targets. When used, recovers 1 Skill Point(s) for allies, and increases the DMG taken by all enemies by 25% for 3 turn(s).
Talent
- Gem Magecraft
When entering combat, gains 20 "Gem Energy." When an ally consumes or recovers Skill Points, CRIT DMG increases by 125% for 2 turn(s). For every 1 Skill Point consumed or recovered, Rin Tohsaka gains 1 "Gem Energy." If Rin Tohsaka possesses 15 or more "Gem Energy" or if current Skill Points are 7 or more, her Skill is enhanced into "Second Magic Experiment."
- Freeform Tohsaka Style
After attacking Archer uses his Skill "Caladbolg II: Fake Spiral Sword," if there are fewer or equal to 3 Skill Point(s), Rin Tohsaka and Archer will launch a Joint Follow-Up ATK on all enemies, each dealing Quantum DMG equal to 375% of Rin Tohsaka's ATK and 375% of Archer's ATK, and recover 4 Skill Point(s) for allies. This Joint ATK can only trigger once. The trigger count resets after Rin Tohsaka's turn ends.
Technique
- Conversion Charge
After using the Technique, gains 10 point(s) of "Gem Energy" at the start of the next combat.
Traces
- ELEGANT CONDUCT
When Rin Tohsaka is on the field, additionally increases the max number of Skill Points by 2. When entering combat, Rin Tohsaka's ATK increases by 150%, and DMG dealt ignores 20% of the target's DEF. If Archer is in the team, Archer also gains this effect.
- LADYLIKE POISE
After Rin Tohsaka uses her Enhanced Skill, her SPD increases by 20% for 3 turn(s).
- INBOUND PROSPERITY
When Rin Tohsaka uses her Ultimate, she gains 12 point(s) of "Gem Energy."

While possessing "Shadow Gem," the Skill is enhanced to "Second Magic Experiment." The Enhanced Skill consumes all "Shadow Gem," does not trigger the effect of converting Skill Points into "Gem Energy," and does not consume "Gem Energy." |

E2 > E1 > E4 > E6 > E3 ≈ E5
E1: After consuming 30 or more Gem Energy in a single Enhanced Skill, you get one free Enhanced Skill that doesn't consume resources — smoother rotation, but not game-breaking.
E2: All allies' Skill DMG becomes 110% of original, a separate multiplier. Peak value for cost — stop here if you're on a budget.
E3: Skill +2 levels. Pure stepping stone, don't overthink it.
E4: When allies consume or recover Skill Points, they gain 10% SPD for 3 turns. Nice to have, but not essential.
E5: Ultimate +2 levels, Talent +2 levels. Too deep in the sequence, too expensive for what it gives.
E6: 20% All-Type RES PEN + gains an extra turn after using Ultimate. True final form — completely different character once you get here.
If you want to save money, stop at E2 — E1 is the entry ticket, E2 is where the real value kicks in. If you have more to spend, push for E4. Whales go straight to E6 for the extra turn. E3 and E5 are just stepping stones — never stop for them intentionally.
Conclusion
Don't level her Talent? All those gems mean nothing. Skip her Skill? Her nuke turns into a firecracker. Stop at E2? That's called being smart with your money. Go all the way to E6? That's called devotion. As for her Basic ATK? That's just Rin keeping up appearances — using it in a real fight is an insult to the art of Jewel Magecraft. Want more? Check out LDShop HSR Hub.
