Zhongshan is a NPC first introduced in Version 1.2 during the adventure mission Bestial Ferocity on Xianzhou Luofu. She poses as a recruit for the “Unshackled,” an animal liberation group, and serves as a guide for the Trailblazer, helping them free several creatures as part of a newcomer trial. Her personality is marked by chaotic humor, making the mission both engaging and unpredictable.

After the mission is completed, including its unexpected mishaps, Zhongshan vanishes from Luofu. She leaves the Trailblazer a message revealing that she has departed to pursue her next adventure, keeping her true whereabouts and intentions mysterious.

How to obtain Zhongshan’s Letter

The item Zhongshan’s Letter is obtained only after completing the Adventure Mission Bestial Ferocity: The End.

After finishing the first part and waiting for the next daily reset in the game, the mission will reappear with a follow‑up. Completing it leads you to find a letter she left at Heron Express in Exalting Sanctum, along with some small gifts.

Letter content summary

The letter is written directly to the Trailblazer and explains that Zhongshan has already departed the Luofu. She confirms the “Unshackled” incident concluded successfully and mentions her amusement with the whole episode.

She teases that Tonya, Benna, and Heathmann are all doing well. At the end of the letter, Zhongshan expresses hope to meet again “at the tavern” for drinks.

 

 

Zhongshan’s Return in Version 4.0

In Zhongshan’s Letter, she writes:

"Aha… Perhaps one day we will meet again at 'the tavern.' At that time, please allow me to buy you a martini with a topology olive and some Barnsley fractal peppers (that's my favorite)."

The 4.0 update has now made this reference relevant: the new Aha version and the World’s End Tavern area correspond directly to the letter’s content.

Additionally, in the Tavern Declarations (a notice posted on a wall in the tavern), the tenth declaration reads:

"10. The final power of interpretation for the above articles is vested in Bragi, Aha, Sampo, Giovanni, Zhongshan, Aha, Nanook, Aha, Sparkle the real Sparkle."
