Alliance Duel VS runs every week, Monday through Saturday, and it's the event that shapes how serious alliances manage almost everything else — when they train troops, when they use speedups, when they pick fights. If you've been treating it as a daily checklist, you're leaving a significant amount of points and rewards on the table.

This guide covers how the event actually works from a strategic level: the victory point system, what each day scores, how to sync with Arms Race, and the save-and-release discipline that separates consistent winners from alliances that wing it every week.

How Victory Points Work

The weekly winner isn't the alliance that scores the most total points — it's the one that wins the most daily matchups. Each day your alliance outscores the rival alliance in that day's theme, you earn victory points. First to 7 VP wins the week.

The VP value per day is not equal. Day 1 is worth 1 VP, Days 2 through 5 are worth 2 VP each, and Day 6 is worth 4 VP on its own — putting the full available pool at 12 VP per week. The math has a real implication: if your alliance wins every day from Monday through Thursday, that's already 7 VP and the match is settled before Saturday even starts. On the other hand, if the score is close going into Saturday, Day 6 is the entire week's deciding factor. See our Enemy Buster Day 6 Guide for the full breakdown of how to win that finale.

This VP weighting is why the smartest alliances don't treat every day as equally urgent. Early days matter for building a buffer and for individual rewards, but Days 5 and 6 are where the match gets decided.

Entry Requirements and League Structure

To participate, your Headquarters needs to be at least level 10 and your alliance must have 20 or more active members. Only the top 32 alliances in a warzone can enter. The event runs on a League system with seasonal placement — the first two weeks of a new league are placement matches, and your initial tier is set by your win count and how quickly you complete matches. Final league standings run on total victories across the season, and your tier (Silver, Gold, or Diamond) determines the quality of weekly rewards.

The Six-Day Theme Overview

Each day has a designated theme that decides what scores points. Using the right resources on the wrong day doesn't just waste them — it actively costs your alliance points that can't be recovered.

Day

Theme

Primary Scoring Activities

Day 1 (Mon)

Radar & Resources

Radar missions, stamina, Drone Parts, gathering

Day 2 (Tue)

Base Development

Building upgrades, construction speedups, trucks, survivors

Day 3 (Wed)

Tech Research

Research speedups, Valor Badge spending, Drone Component Chests

Day 4 (Thu)

Hero Advancement

Hero EXP, shards, skill medals, recruitment tickets

Day 5 (Fri)

Total Mobilization

Troop training, training speedups, building upgrades

Day 6 (Sat)

Enemy Buster

Troop kills, healing, speedups, trade trucks

There's one mechanical quirk that catches new players: for the first five minutes after the daily reset, nothing scores points. Wait for the countdown to end before claiming anything, finishing construction, or dumping speedups. Coordinated alliances often lose value to this window simply because nobody reminded members to wait.

Arms Race Alignment — Double-Dipping Points

Alliance Duel runs in parallel with the Arms Race event, and the themes overlap on purpose. Actions taken during the right Arms Race phase can score in both events simultaneously with a single use of resources. Aligning the two isn't optional for competitive alliances — it's one of the main ways to close the resource efficiency gap against heavier spenders.

Arms Race Alignment

On Day 1, the Drone Boost and Hero Advancement Arms Race phases overlap with radar and stamina activity. Day 2's construction scoring lines up with a city-building Arms Race phase. Day 3 tech research lines up with a research phase, and Day 5 training overlaps with a training-focused Arms Race period. Running both events in lockstep means every speedup or upgrade goes twice as far on the scoreboard.

The Save-and-Release System

The entire weekly strategy rests on one discipline: don't use things on the wrong day. Every major resource category in the game has an assigned scoring day, and the mechanics actively reward holding.

Several mechanics make this possible. Completed buildings stay in a gift-wrapped state until you choose to open them — finish your upgrades early in the week and claim the reward on Day 2 or Day 5 when building power scores. Completed research stays unclaimed until Day 3. Trained troops sit in the queue until Day 5 collection is worth points. Trade trucks only score if they're Legendary (orange) tier, so save refresh tickets until Day 2 and Day 6 when trucks count. Drone Component Chests only generate VS points if opened on Day 3 — opening them any other day wastes their scoring potential entirely.

The practical upshot: most of your resources are essentially locked in on Sunday. If you play the save system correctly going into the week, you have very few decisions to make each day — just release what's already been staged.

Valor Badges and the Compounding Advantage

Valor Badges

Valor Badges are the currency you earn from unlocking reward chests each day, and they feed directly into Alliance Duel research in the Technology Center. This creates a compounding loop: more badges means more research, more research means higher point multipliers and additional chest slots, more chests means more badges next week.

Alliance Duel research can increase your point income by up to 150% and unlocks chest tiers 4 through 9, which contain the most valuable rewards. Alliances that invested heavily in this research tree early in the season now score significantly more points per action than alliances that delayed it. The most efficient place to spend Valor Badges is Alliance Duel, Intercity Truck, or Special Forces research on Day 3, where spending them directly generates scoring points on top of the long-term tech benefit.

Every chest you claim accelerates your ability to score in future weeks. That's why consistent participation — even partial participation — builds more value over time than sporadic all-in weeks.

Individual Rewards and Chest Thresholds

Each player has their own reward chest track running alongside the alliance match. The nine chests unlock at increasing point thresholds:

  • Basic (Chests 1–3): Available to all participants, up to 540,000 points
  • Advanced (Chests 4–6): Requires Advanced Reward research, up to 2,300,000 points
  • Super (Chests 7–9): Requires Super Reward research, up to 7,200,000 points

Hitting 7.2 million points each day through combined combat and non-combat activity maxes out your personal rewards. Players who finish in the Top 30 for individual daily points receive extra ranking rewards on top of the chests.

The chests contain Valor Badges, diamonds, hero shards, drone components, resources, and Upgrade Ores. The Tactical Master Supply Box — a rarer chest reward — can drop 10,000 diamonds or Legendary decoration items.

Preparation That Starts Before Monday

The alliance that wins reliably posts a weekly plan before Monday and enforces it. At a minimum, that means: a list of what each member should be saving and releasing on each day, a coordinated attack window for Day 6, a clear rule about not dumping resources in the five-minute reset window, and a reminder to shield before Saturday.

Don't try to grow base power in the days before the event starts if you want to be matched against weaker rivals — some alliances intentionally hold off on collecting buildings or troops until after the opponent pairing is set. It's also worth starting long tech research at the end of Day 1 to have it ready to claim on Day 3.

For everything that happens on the combat day itself, the Enemy Buster Day 6 Guide covers shield timing, the rival alliance 5x kill multiplier, and how non-combat players can still contribute serious points.

FAQ

What's the fastest way to win an Alliance Duel match?

Win Monday through Thursday. Days 1 through 4 total 7 VP — exactly the number needed to close the match — and locking it before Saturday means your alliance can treat Day 6 as bonus rewards rather than a pressure situation. This requires consistent participation from members every day, not just effort on specific days.

Do individual points affect whether my alliance wins the day?

Individual points determine your personal chest rewards and leaderboard ranking, but the daily win is based on your alliance's combined total versus the rival alliance's combined total. Both matter — individual performance stacks into the alliance score. A few inactive members on a key day can cost the alliance the daily matchup.

What happens if we lose most days but win Day 6?

Winning Day 6 earns 4 VP. If your alliance went into Saturday with 3 VP and the rival had 6, winning Enemy Buster ties the week at 7–7 — but since neither alliance reached 7 first, the tiebreaker rules apply (typically total match points). It's not an automatic loss, but you're relying on tiebreakers. The cleaner play is to compete on the earlier days rather than gambling everything on Saturday.

Why do Drone Component Chests only count on Day 3?

The game's scoring system assigns specific item categories to specific daily themes. Component Chests are tied to the Tech Research theme on Day 3. Opening them any other day still gives you the components, but they won't generate Alliance Duel VS points. Drone Parts (used in the Drone Center) are different — those score on Day 1 with the radar theme, not Day 3.

Is Alliance Duel worth engaging with if my alliance is low-powered?

Yes, primarily through non-combat activities. Gathering, trucks, radar missions, training, and research all generate individual chest points regardless of combat power. Even F2P players in smaller alliances can consistently reach the first 3 chest tiers each day, and the Valor Badges from those chests accelerate research that improves future scoring. Skipping participation entirely is the least efficient choice.

What is the 5-minute reset rule and why does it matter?

Each new Alliance Duel day has a five-minute countdown after reset during which no actions generate points. Claiming rewards, opening chests, or finishing upgrades inside that window produces nothing. For individual players this is a minor nuisance; for coordinated alliance speedup drops or simultaneous attacks, it can disrupt a planned push if members forget to wait.
