Last War DVA Build Guide: Best Skills, Gear, Team & Season 6 Awakening

DVA shines brightest in Aircraft teams, where her fast Energy Damage, crit scaling, and full-squad synergy can actually stack up. Once her Exclusive Weapon and Season 6 Awakening enter the build, she turns from a solid back-row DPS into a carry worth planning around.

DVA Role Overview

DVA is an Aircraft Attack hero, and her job is to stay in the back row and keep throwing damage while your frontline buys time. Her Vortex Missile gives her reliable damage uptime, while her crit-rate passive makes every offensive upgrade feel better. Steel Barrage adds the bigger burst window, especially once her Exclusive Weapon starts improving it.

In real fights, DVA works best when she is protected long enough to cycle her damage. She fits naturally into Aircraft teams because Aircraft lineups can activate type bonuses, and Aircraft also has a matchup advantage against Tank heroes in the type triangle.

 

Best DVA Skill Priority

For most players, upgrade DVA’s skills in this order:

Vortex Missile first. This is DVA’s most consistent damage source and the skill that her Exclusive Weapon improves at activation. Since it keeps firing throughout the fight, every upgrade here gives you value immediately.

Armament Upgrade second. DVA’s crit-rate passive is a huge part of why she scales so well. More crit value makes her offensive gear, attack scaling, and burst windows feel much stronger. This is especially important once you start investing proper gear into her.

Steel Barrage third. Steel Barrage is still very important, especially with Exclusive Weapon Lv.10 and Lv.30, but early on it is a cooldown-based burst skill rather than her whole identity. If your DVA already has Exclusive Weapon Lv.10 or higher, you can raise Steel Barrage earlier.

Super Sensing last. The extra HP, Attack, Defense, and cooldown value are useful, but DVA needs her damage core first. Do not let this eat medals before Vortex Missile and her crit passive are in a good place.

 

Best DVA Gear

For DVA, the safest gear priority is:

Gun / Railgun first. DVA’s damage scales heavily with Attack, so her main offensive weapon should be the first serious gear investment. This gives the cleanest damage increase across her whole kit.

Chip second. Chip becomes very valuable because DVA already has crit support in her kit. Once her Gun/Railgun is strong, Chip helps push her burst ceiling higher and makes her crit-heavy damage profile more threatening.

Radar third. DVA sits in the back row, but PvP splash, back-row targeting, and long fights can still reach her. Radar helps keep her alive without delaying her main damage too much.

Armor fourth. Armor is useful later, but DVA should not be eating frontline hits. Build it after her offensive setup is already moving.

The big rule is simple: do not spread premium gear materials across too many heroes at once. DVA feels way better with one strong offensive setup than with half-built gear across your whole Aircraft roster.

 

Best DVA Exclusive Weapon Priority

DVA’s Exclusive Weapon is one of the biggest reasons to commit to her long term. To activate an Exclusive Weapon, the hero needs 5 stars and 50 unique weapon shards; major breakpoints are Lv.1, Lv.10, Lv.20, and Lv.30.

At Lv.1, DVA upgrades Vortex Missile and starts battle with Vortex Overload stacks based on the number of Aircraft heroes on your side. Vortex Overload gives extra Energy Damage, which is exactly what DVA wants.

At Lv.10, Steel Barrage gains extra value by giving DVA Storm Surge stacks after it hits. Storm Surge increases Attack Speed, so this makes her damage loop much smoother in Aircraft teams.

At Lv.20, Aircraft Specialist boosts all Aircraft heroes’ Attack, Defense, and HP by 7.5%. This is the best stopping point for most serious players because it gives both DVA and the full Aircraft squad a real stat upgrade.

At Lv.30, Overdrive lets DVA instantly cast Steel Barrage on 2 front-row units at the beginning of battle. This is a very strong high-investment breakpoint, but it is expensive. For most players, Lv.20 first, Lv.30 later is the smarter path.

 

Best DVA Team

DVA’s cleanest full Aircraft team is:

Front Row: Lucius + Carlie
Back Row: Morrison + DVA + Schuyler

This is the proper Aircraft setup. Lucius and Carlie give the team a real frontline, Morrison adds heavy damage pressure, Schuyler brings control and back-row threat, and DVA acts as the main burst carry. This team also keeps the full Aircraft direction intact, which matters more as your Aircraft gear, tech, and Exclusive Weapons improve.

If your Aircraft team is not ready yet, use a mixed carry setup:

Front Row: Williams + Murphy / Lucius / Carlie
Back Row: Kimberly + Marshall + DVA

This version is better for accounts that already have a stronger Tank core but still want to use DVA as a premium back-row attacker. Kimberly brings AoE pressure, Marshall boosts the team’s damage flow, and DVA finishes targets that survive the first burst window. You lose some pure-type value, but a strong mixed squad usually beats a weak “forced” Aircraft team.

Do not rush into 5-Aircraft just for the bonus if Lucius, Carlie, Morrison, or Schuyler are underbuilt. DVA needs protection and tempo more than she needs a pretty formation screen.

 

DVA Awakening Strategy in Season 6

Season 6 makes DVA even more important for Aircraft players because she is one of the heroes tied to the Awakening wave. If DVA is your main Aircraft carry, your prep should start before her Awakening window opens: get her to 5 stars, push her Exclusive Weapon to Lv.20+, and save the resources needed for Awakening content.

Your first goal is unlocking Awakening. After that, Star 1 is the realistic early target for committed Aircraft players. Star 2 and beyond are much heavier investments, so do not burn Universal Awakening Shards too fast unless DVA is truly one of your account’s main carries.

For Tank-main or Missile-main players, DVA is still worth building, but her Awakening should wait until your main squad’s core upgrades are handled. For Aircraft-main players, she should be near the top of your Season 6 priority list.
