Last War: Survival Server Change Guide: How to Switch Servers

Hi, Commanders! Sometimes the server is the real problem, not your account. Maybe rallies are dead, your alliance is falling apart, or your active hours never line up with the rest of the Warzone. In that case, switching servers in Last War: Survival can be worth looking into.

Can You Change Servers in Last War: Survival?

Yes, but not freely.

In Last War: Survival, your server is basically your Warzone. Your base, heroes, alliance, rankings, and account progress are tied to the Warzone where your character was created. You can’t just jump to any server at any time.

There are two main options:

Option 1: Start Fresh on Another Server

Creating a new character is the simplest way to enter another server. It does not move your current account. Instead, you make a brand-new character in a different Warzone.

How to Create a New Character

• Open Last War: Survival.
• Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner.
• Go to Settings.
• Open Character Management or Manage Characters.
• Choose Create New Character.
• Select the server or Warzone you want.
• Confirm and start fresh.

This works best if you are still early in the game, joined the wrong server, or want to play with friends right away.

Just remember the big catch: your old progress stays where it is. Your HQ level, heroes, resources, alliance, rankings, and event progress do not carry over to the new character. If your current account is already valuable, this is a full restart, not a transfer.

 

Option 2: Move Your Main Account with Transfer Surge

If you don’t want to lose your progress, you need Transfer Surge. This is Last War’s seasonal server transfer event. It lets eligible players move their existing account to another Warzone.

However, Transfer Surge is not always available, and you cannot choose just any server. The system uses eligible Warzone Groups, usually made up of nearby servers with similar age and progression. This keeps older, stronger accounts from flooding much newer servers.

To transfer, you usually need to:

• choose a server inside your eligible Warzone Group;
• meet the target Warzone’s HQ or power requirements;
• have an open seat for your status tier;
• get approval from the target Warzone President;
• prepare enough Transfer Tickets or Transfer Vouchers.

If you miss the event window, you’ll need to wait for the next transfer period.

 

Transfer Surge Rules You Should Know

Transfer Surge usually runs for 14 days and is split into four stages:

Application Phase	Apply to the Warzone you want to join
Transfer Phase	Complete the move after approval
Display Phase	Transfer results and remaining seat info are shown

The most important part is the Application Phase. This is when you apply to your target Warzone. Stronger or more active servers may have limited seats, so don’t apply blindly.

Transfer Score and Status Seats

Transfer Surge is not just about paying tickets. Your account also gets a Transfer Score when the event starts.

This score is based on your overall account development, including buildings, heroes, units, tech, Drone, and Overlord power. Based on that score, you may be placed into a status tier such as:

Each target Warzone has limited seats for each tier. That means a server may look open, but your application can still fail if your tier has no seats left.

 

Fully Open, Semi-Open, and Limited Open Servers

Limited Open	Harder to enter, often very limited seats

Transfer applications usually need approval from the target Warzone President, especially when seats are limited. Don’t apply blind. If you want to join a strong alliance, check chat, recruitment posts, or the Talent Pool during Transfer Surge first. Many alliances list their open spots, tags, and requirements there, so you’ll know where you’re going before you spend your tickets.

 

Transfer Tickets and Vouchers

Server transfer is not free. You usually need 50 Transfer Tickets or Transfer Vouchers to move your account.

Your Transfer Score affects your status tier and which Warzones you can apply for, but it does not normally change the ticket cost. Start saving tickets early from the Alliance Shop whenever they appear. Don’t wait until the transfer window opens and then realize you’re short.

 

Transfer Day Checklist

Before Transfer Day, make sure your account is ready.

Check these before moving:

• leave your current alliance;
• recall all squads back to your base;
• stay on your original Warzone map;
• make sure you are not the Warzone President;
• confirm the target Warzone before applying;
• claim important event rewards before the move;
• double-check that you have enough Transfer Tickets.

Once your application is approved, the transfer is basically locked in. You can move manually on Transfer Day, and if you don’t, the game may transfer you automatically at reset.

After the move, your base and main account progress stay with you, but server-based rankings will update in the new Warzone. Some active rewards or tasks may carry over or be handled by mail, but it is still safer to claim important rewards before transferring.

 

Should You Restart or Transfer?

Choose Create New Character if you are still early, want a clean restart, or need to join friends as soon as possible.

Choose Transfer Surge if your account is already strong and you want to keep your HQ, heroes, upgrades, and long-term progress.

Most players switch servers for one of three reasons: people, activity, or politics. Maybe your friends are elsewhere. Maybe your Warzone is half-dead. Maybe the server rules are making the game miserable.

Just don’t transfer because of one bad week. A different Warzone can still have its own drama. Before you move, check the target server’s language, time zone, alliance structure, SvS activity, power rankings, and transfer limits.
