The rainforest is calling, Commanders! Season 6 – Lost Rainforest is finally here, and while we’re all excited about Hero Awakening and the new map, the real game-changers this season are actually the three supporting systems: War Merit, Fishi, and Faction Tech.

If you skip these, you’re leaving serious power on the table (and probably getting steamrolled in faction wars). Here is your complete guide to mastering the new mechanics.

War Merit System

More Than Just a Flex

War Merit System

First up, let’s talk about the War Merit System. At first glance, it might just look like a fancy badge on your profile, but trust me, it’s much deeper than that.

What is it?

This is the seasonal ranking system for everyone in your faction group. It tracks how active you are. Think of it as your "Season Pass" progress, but instead of just paying for it, you have to actually fight for it.

How to Earn Merits

The devs designed it so you don't have to go too far out of your way, but you do need to stay busy. You earn points from basically every meaningful action:

- First kills of Doom Elites and Rainforest Zombies.

- Capturing Fishing Grounds and Cities.

- Donating your Fishing Catch (more on that below).

- Reinforcing allies and ranking in events like Faction Clash.

The Ranking & Rewards

Here is the kicker: spending your War Merit items in the shop does not lower your total score. So spend away without worrying about losing your rank.

As your rank increases, so does your daily stipend. Higher ranks also grant stat bonuses. While the exact numbers are hidden until launch, the description implies that higher tiers give you a significant edge in combat. Plus, you get exclusive titles and nameplates to show off to the enemy before you burn their city down.

Fishing Gameplay

Fishing Gameplay

I know what you’re thinking: "Fishing? In a war game?" But hear me out. Fishing is actually the most efficient way to stack resources this season.

The Basics

You can only fish at Fishing Grounds controlled by your Faction. You’ll need bait, which you get from the daily Visitor in your base (and maybe a little extra if you picked the right profession specialization).

The Strategy (This is important)

The fish species available in a hole are determined by the original faction that held it, not who holds it now.

- Pro Tip: If you want to catch specific fish for better rewards, you need to capture a Fishing Ground from the enemy faction. Just walking up to your own faction's holes won't give you the rare species.

Confiscation & Donations

Here is the wild part. If you fish in a hole held by a different alliance (but same faction), there is a chance your fish gets confiscated by that alliance. It hurts, but it goes toward their Alliance Tech. However, you should be donating your catches anyway. Donating fish gives you War Merit and helps unlock Faction Tech buffs. It’s a win-win.

Faction Tech

Faction Tech

If you take one thing away from this guide, let it be this: Faction Tech wins seasons.

This isn't just your regular old research tree. This is the shared power of your entire faction (remember, that’s 4 whole warzones working together).

The "Pact" Abilities (Critical!)

The most crucial tech in the tree involves the Alliance Pact.

- What it does: Allows two alliances in the same faction to link up if their territories are adjacent.

- Why you need it: Once linked, you can borrow their territory to move across the map and you can reinforce their cities.

- The Strategy: If your server group (warzone) wants to help the #4 alliance fight the #1 enemy, you must research the advanced borrower/territory tech. Without it, you’re stuck in your own corner watching your allies lose.

The "Pact" Abilities (Critical!)

Influence Points & Defense

Don't sleep on the Influence tech either. Occupying and destroying enemy cities generates Influence Points for your faction. There are techs specifically designed to increase the points you get from these actions.

Also, prioritize the Defense Support Speed Up tech. When an ally’s city is under siege, getting there 30 seconds faster can mean the difference between holding the line and losing a Sanctuary.

Final Thoughts

Season 6 isn't just about who has the biggest wallet or the highest hero level. It’s about coordination and utilization.

- Solo players need to focus on Fishing and War Merits to keep their personal income high.

- R4/R5s need to be screaming at their factions to prioritize Faction Tech, specifically the Pact abilities, before anything else.

The Lost Rainforest is dark and full of zombies, but if you master these three systems, you’ll be the one hunting the enemy, not the other way around.

Good luck out there, Commanders.
