Unlike resources where you have to choose between spending and ranking, War Merit is a one-way counter. Go ahead and buy those Drone Parts or Skill Medals from the shop; your rank is safe.

There are two main paths to earning this currency:

• Combat & Progression: First Blood kills on Doom Elites, participating in City captures, and Faction Clash events.
• Contribution: Donating your Catch (Fish) to Alliance Skills and Faction Technology.

The core of the system is the Tier ladder. As your Total War Merit reaches specific thresholds, you'll unlock the ability to Promote to the next rank.

Why should you care about hitting that Promote button the second it lights up? Two reasons:

• Passive Stat Bonuses: Higher Tiers grant permanent stat increases (Attack, HP, Defense, and later, Damage Reduction) that make you stronger in every fight this season. At the highest levels, we're talking up to 5% Damage Reduction for the Deepwood Chieftain rank. That's a massive edge in close PvP battles.
• The Daily Stipend: This is the kicker. Every single promotion grants you an immediate Daily Stipend. The higher your Tier, the juicier the stipend (often including Drone Parts, Skill Medals, and speedups).

The War Merit payout for being part of the first kill of a Doom Elite or the first capture of a Fishing Grounds/City is significant. Coordinate with your Alliance. If you miss the initial wave of rallies, you miss easy, massive points.

2. Faction Clash Consistency

You might not be the biggest whale on the server, but that's fine. Consistent participation in the Faction Clash Kill Ranking and Defense Ranking adds up. Reinforcing Cities and participating in destroying enemy Faction Cities all contribute to your total. Just showing up for the brawl is better than sitting out.

3. Don't Sleep on Fishing (And Donations)

It’s easy to think of the Fishing Grounds as just a mini-game, but it’s the fuel for the Faction Tech tree. When you donate your Catch to Alliance Skills or Faction Technology, you get War Merit. Plus, you're helping unlock critical season perks like Alliance Pacts and the War Spoils claim feature. It’s a win-win.

4. Purge Action & Rainforest Wrath

During the first two weeks, Purge Action rankings provide a huge daily settlement bonus (up to 35k War Merit for the top spots). Keep pushing those Doom Elite levels. Also, keep an eye out for Rainforest Wrath spawns—similar to the Worms from Season 3, these map bosses drop extra merit and resources just for hitting them.
