Alliance Duel (also called VS) is one of the most rewarding recurring events in Last Z: Survival Shooter. This guide covers how the event works, what each of the six daily themes actually requires, how to sync with Full Preparedness for double rewards, and what research you should be prioritizing in the background to make all of this more efficient long-term.

What Is Alliance Duel?
Alliance Duel is a 6-day weekly competition that pits your alliance against a randomly matched opponent alliance, typically from a different server. Both sides earn points throughout the week by completing actions that match each day's theme. The alliance with higher total points at the end of the week wins the Duel and advances (or holds position) in the League standings.
The event resets weekly, and every four weeks marks a new season. The League runs from lower tiers up to Diamond, with Diamond offering the best rewards by a significant margin. Winning your weekly Duel pushes your alliance up the rankings, so there's compounding value to consistently performing well — not just for the weekly win bonus, but for your league placement across the whole season.
The scoring structure rewards both individual effort and collective coordination. Each player earns points personally, which unlock daily chests at set milestones. Your alliance's combined score determines who wins the weekly matchup, and your personal rank within your alliance also affects what you receive at the end of the week.

Daily Themes: The 6-Day Rotation
The Alliance Duel cycle follows a fixed Day 1 through Day 6 rotation. Each day has one main theme, and almost all meaningful points come from actions tied to that theme. Actions that don't match the day's focus still give some points, but far fewer — which is why hoarding resources and spending them on the correct day is the core strategy.

How Each Day Works
Day 1 — Modded Vehicle Boost

Vehicle day is all about opening boxes, not using components. This catches players off guard: using vehicle components gives no points. Opening them does. Save your radar tasks from the night before, open every component box and chip chest you've been holding, and clear any available radar missions. Orange chip chests can be worth around 1 million points each, so hold them specifically for this day.
A good weekly habit is buying the wrench stock from the VIP store and Glory shop (roughly 15 per week combined) and saving everything for Monday.
Day 2 — Shelter Upgrade

Building day tends to be the hardest day for free-to-play players because construction speedups are relatively scarce. The orange bounty missions and refugee recruitment are where the extra points come from. Save 20–40 refresh tickets exclusively for Tuesday so you can fish for orange bounties, which are worth substantially more than lower-tier ones. If an orange refugee appears during recruitment, recruit them immediately instead of resetting.
One useful trick: recruit once normally, then use "Try Your Luck" on subsequent attempts to save tokens while still generating points. If you can't realistically reach 6 million points on this day, stop at 3 million — the chest at that milestone still has solid value, and overspending speedups here will hurt you on future weeks.
Sync your biggest building actions with Full Preparedness at Apocalypse Time 08:00 or 20:00 so you score in both events simultaneously.
Day 3 — Age of Science

Research day is the other difficult day. Research speedups and badges are both spent here, and neither is easy to accumulate quickly. The reliable shortcut is the orange intercity trade trucks: completing four of them adds around 1.2 million points with minimal resource cost, so prioritize those first. Then spend your saved research speedups and badges. Use badges only on this day — consuming them on any other day wastes their point value.
Again, if 6 million isn't realistic, 3 million is an acceptable stop point.
Day 4 — Hero Initiative

Hero day is generally the easiest to score on. Fragments of any color count, along with equipment upgrades, power cores, orange skill books, and primary recruitment. Focus your orange equipment upgrades on your five main heroes and save the bulk of your recruitment tickets and exclusive equipment shards for this day.
One important warning: don't spend enhancement alloys on purple or blue equipment. Save all alloys strictly for orange gear — upgrading lower-tier equipment with alloys is a common mistake that drains a resource that's harder to replace than it looks.

- Equipment tier indicators (orange vs blue/purple)
- Recruitment ticket spend confirmation
Day 5 — Holistic Growth

Training day is where your accumulated training speedups go. Train and assemble troops during this window, and run any radar tasks you've held from Thursday. Every type of speedup gives points on this day, but training speedups are the main focus — save them all week and deploy them here.
One thing to be careful about: if your alliance recently took losses in combat, don't immediately train replacements on a non-Friday day expecting to score. Save that training for Friday and score on it then.
Day 6 — Enemy Buster

Combat day is the most straightforward. Points come from killing enemy units, having your own units killed in battle, completing orange wanted missions, and orange intercity trades. Coordinate with your alliance on target selection to avoid doubling up on the same enemies. This is generally considered the easiest day to hit your point targets — if you're behind on points for the week, aggressive play here can help close the gap.
Don't use bounty refresh tickets on this day. Save them for Tuesday's Shelter Upgrade day, where they're worth significantly more.

Syncing with Full Preparedness (Golden Hour)
One of the most effective strategies in Alliance Duel is timing your biggest spends with the Full Preparedness event, which runs at Apocalypse Time 08:00 and 20:00. When Alliance Duel and Full Preparedness overlap, your actions score in both events at once — giving you double the return on each resource you spend.
The simplest way to apply this: on any theme day, hold your most expensive actions (big building upgrades, bulk troop training, research queues) until one of those two time windows. You get Alliance Duel points and Full Preparedness progress from the same actions, which is one of the cleanest efficiency gains available to any player, free-to-play or otherwise.
In some weeks, the event timing allows this to happen twice on a single day. When it does, try to split your upgrades across both windows for maximum chest progress on both events.
Weekly Rewards: What You're Actually Playing For
Daily rewards are tied to chest milestones — up to 9 chests per day, with chests 8 and 9 containing the most valuable loot. If you haven't done the Alliance Recognition research yet, you'll only unlock chests up to chest 3 or 4. This is a significant difference in weekly output, which is why that research is considered the most important long-term investment for regular Alliance Duel players.
A rough weekly breakdown at full chest completion:
- Without Alliance Recognition bonuses: around 5,000 badges/week (830 × 6 days)
- With max Alliance Recognition (2× bonus): up to 10,000 badges/week or more
- Win bonus: 1,500 badges, 6 orange hero fragments, 1,000 diamonds
- Loss consolation: 1,000 badges (still worth participating)
- 4-week season at Diamond League, first place: roughly 20,000 badges plus significant lab speedups
The badges alone make this event worth treating seriously. For context on what those badges unlock and how to spend them efficiently, our Alliance Recognition Guide covers the full research tree.
Alliance Recognition Research: Do It Early

The Alliance Recognition tech tree in your lab directly amplifies every Alliance Duel week you play. It doubles your daily reward output, unlocks the higher-tier chests, and increases the score multiplier that makes milestones faster to reach. The total investment is substantial — roughly 143,500 badges for Event King research and another 22,000–44,000 for Event Expert — but once maxed, it pays back more than 8,000 badges per week from Alliance Duel alone.
The recommended priority is to max Event Expert first, then work toward Event King. Don't stop Alliance Duel participation while you're building up badges — you're farming the very resource that funds the research.
FAQ
What's the first thing I should do when I join an active alliance?
Check the Alliance Duel day rotation and stop spending resources randomly. Figure out what day it is in the cycle, hold anything that matches a future theme, and start learning when to spend what.
Can free-to-play players make a meaningful contribution?
Yes, especially on Hero Initiative day (Day 4) and Enemy Buster day (Day 6), which require fewer premium resources. F2P players who follow the save-and-spend rhythm consistently contribute more than casual spenders who ignore the themes.
What happens if my alliance loses the weekly Duel?
You still earn the 1,000-badge consolation reward, and your personal chest rewards from hitting daily milestones are unaffected. Losing one week isn't catastrophic — league position takes multiple weeks to shift significantly.
How important is Chinatsu for Alliance Duel?
Chinatsu's passive gives a percentage boost to event points when leveled, up to around 20% at max level. It's a meaningful bonus for players already scoring high, but not the first priority for newer players. Get the core resource-saving habits right first.
My alliance is in a bad weekly matchup. Should we save resources for next week?
It depends on the gap. If the difference is large enough that pushing would still result in a loss, most alliances choose to conserve and secure a win next week. Talk to your R4/R5 leadership about the call — this is a judgment that requires knowing your alliance's weekly resource pool.
Is Enemy Buster the best day for alliance coordination?
It's the most social, but Hero Initiative (Day 4) is often the easiest for individual scoring. Enemy Buster needs the most coordination to avoid attack overlap and troop losses — talk to your alliance before committing to big combat actions on Day 6.
