Gloo – Basic Info

  • Role: Tank
  • Lane Recommendation: EXP Lane/Roaming
  • Damage Type: Magic
  • Basic Attack Range: Melee

MLBB Best Gloo Guide

Our #104 number hero – Gloo, is a Tank type hero who is most preferred to be used as a EXP laner or a roamer in matches because of his control effects and HP regeneration skills, making him both reliable and flexible during draft picks. But he was never like this before and it all changed in the early month of 2025 when Moonton decided to give Gloo a complete rework. Gloo holds the title of the most banned hero currently with a massive 44.64% ban rate because it is considered as a big threat in both rank games and eSports scenarios.

Some Trivias:

  • Gloo is the only hero except Angela who can stick on other heroes. While Angela can stick on allies, Gloo sticks on the enemy heroes.
  • If you are a Gloo main, you should definitely opt for the Patrick skin in the MLBB x SpongeBob collaboration event. So, you can actually do some MLBB top up to get the exclusive skin. The best platform to make the top-up is LDShop, it lets players top up for less and it is a great way to save money.

Skills and Passive

Passive – Stick, Stick

When an enemy is hit by any of Gloo’s skills, they gain a stack of his passive called Sticky that can be stacked up to 5 times. Gaining this passive stack will decrease the enemy’s movement speed by 4% for a duration of 6 seconds. Moreover, the enemy’s damage output on Gloo is reduced by 4% with each stack.

Things to remember

  • The damage reduction only works on Physical and Magic damage but it doesn’t work on True Damage.
  • The Movement speed reduction only works if the enemy’s movement speed is in the range of 230-420 and it cannot slow them further than 230 points.

Skill 1 - Slam, Slam

Gloo’s first skill is called “Slam, Slam” which is an AOE and CC skill. Gloo expands forward to slam the ground and deal 80 (+80% of Total Magic Power) Magic DMG on the enemy. This skill leaves a Goo on the ground which looks like a swamp. The Goo explodes after 3 seconds to inflict extra damage of 300-450 (+12% of extra HP) as Magic DMG and making the enemies inside it immobilize for a second. If Gloo manages to touch it before it explodes, the skill’s cooldown resets and provides 2.5 - 5.0%of MAX HP as HP regeneration.

Skill 2 – Spread, Spread

Gloo’s second skill is called “Spread, Spread’ which is also an AOE and CC skill just like skill 1. It splits into multiple bodies in the form of Goo, stuns them for half a second and deals 100-200 (+80% of Total Magic Power) as Magic DMG to the enemy in the area of effect. While Gloo gains 10% Movement speed, it also inflicts certain Magic DMG per 0.25 seconds to the enemy it touches.

Skill 3 – Ultimate

Gloo’s third skill or its Ultimate is an Attach type skill with a Healing effect. The Ultimate needs to be charged and cannot be used directly. When an enemy hero reaches the full stack of Sticky (passive), Gloo attaches itself to the target for a duration of 9 seconds. Using the ultimate will also restore 25-30% of Gloo’s MAX HP in an instant.

It doesn’t end here. While being attached, Gloo’s basic attacks deal 30-90 (+50% of Total Magic Power) (+5% of Max HP) as Magic DMG. If Gloo takes any damage during this state, 80% of the damage is transferred to the host it is attached to. If the host dies, the cooldown of the Ultimate skill is reduced to only 5 seconds.

How to use Gloo efficiently

Gloo is an annoying hero and you need to maximize his potential on the battlefield to claim victory. Here are the things you can follow to improve your hero mastery on Gloo:

  • If you are choosing to play as the EXP laner with Gloo, then try to take advantage of your passive stacks and HP regeneration. Always take the first skill first to trigger your passive and HP regen. Gloo is very hard to kill 1v1 in the early stage of the game, so make use of that and once you are level 4, help the team in the turtle fight by zoning out the enemy jungler.
  • During team fights, target the enemy with the least mobility and highest value to ult him and make him completely vulnerable in the fight.
  • One good combo to use is: Use your first skill on the enemy to slow them, follow up with your second skill to stun them and gain maximum stacks. Once it reaches max stack, use your Ultimate.
  • If you are a high ranking player or competitive one, always ban Faramis which is the only proficient counter to Gloo. Although true damage is also a problem for Gloo, it doesn’t matter because there are other heroes on your team to counter them too.

Best Builds

Here are the most recommended equipment builds for Gloo:

Build 1:

  • Rapid Boots
  • Cursed Helmet
  • Oracle
  • Glowing Wand
  • Brute Force Breastplate
  • Guardian Helmet
  • Alternate:
    • Immortality
    • Winter Crown

Build 2:

  • Rapid Boots
  • Cursed Helmet
  • Oracle
  • Glowing Wand
  • Guardian Helmet
  • Winter Crown
  • Alternate:
    • Immortality
    • Radiant Armor

Best Emblems and Battle Spell

For the emblem set, it is important to use the Common emblem for more mana regen and HP regeneration that helps in sustaining in the early game. One can also opt for the Tank Emblem for more durability. Use the following set of talents with common emblem as recommended by pros:

  • Agility
  • Wilderness Blessing
  • Impure Rage/ Brave Smite

Battle Spells

For the battle spells, you can choose from these two:

Spell Name

Image

Purpose

Flicker

To escape critical situations because Gloo doesn't have any dash skills.

Flameshot

To push the enemy back in the Ultimate state or finish them off from a distance.

Conclusion

Following this guide will give you all the on paper experience needed for Gloo but it is important that you master him through on ground experience. The revamped MLBB Gloo is highly picked or highly banned, so you might not get to pick him most of the time but when it is important to make use of it, when you do.
