MLBB’s New Assassin Hero | Sora is coming!

Over the years, Mobile Legends Bang Bang or MLBB has consistently remained one of the most popular MOBA titles worldwide because of its ever changing meta, regular balance updates and major collabs. Amidst the currently running MLBB x SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration, the one major announcement that is stealing the spotlight is the upcoming new Hero - Sora. The addition of a new hero is one of the biggest changes that captivates player’s attention as it always carries the potential of changing the current state of the game.

After the elegant arrival of Zetian and the Queen of Abyss, Obsidia, Sora is going to join the battleground soon. In this guide, we will break down each of Sora’s skills, passive abilities and the things that make him completely different from the existing heroes. Sora – Basic Info

Our new guy, Sora is a hybrid of Assassin and Fighter role mechanics that specializes in Charge and burst. He uses melee basic attacks and deals only Physical Damage. Due to his sustainability and burst damage, he is preferred to be an EXP laner but players can still use him for the hyper role.

For the lore, Sora is a free spirited boy that drifts as freely as the flowing clouds with his two companions - Belrick and Floryn along the Emerald Road. Sora has the blessing of the clouds that has the ability to shift forms.

What makes him Unique

The things that makes Sora’s arrival stand out are:

• Dual Ultimate Shift Mechanic: If you are a hardcore MLBB player then you must know that Lunox’s Ultimate can be used to shift forms that unlock different abilities. Similar to that, Sora’s Ultimate also has two forms – Thunder and Torrent. Each of them unlocks a different set of skills. While the Thunder form gives you more burst and assassin-like mobility, the torrent form gives you more durability and tank-like survivability.
• Character Design: Sora is a teenager with white hair, skinny body and a shirt that is open in the middle. I know, you might have imagined him as Luffy from One Piece. Yes, he is inspired from Luffy’s character design and we think that MLBB has added him to tease us for the upcoming One Piece x MLBB collab in the near future.
• Versatility: In normal form, Sora has the sustainability for a fighter and damage of an assassin. His ability to shift between a tank focus hero and an assassin focused hero, makes him quite versatile in several situations. Moreover, it also gives you more options while setting up his equipment build.

Skills and Passive

Passive

Sora’s passive ability is called the “Mystic Surge” that is a buff ability. Using his Ultimate, Sora can ascend to either Thunder or Torrent form. Upon casting, he gains 1 stack of Cloudstep upon dealing damage to the enemy and once he reaches 5 stacks, he unlocks his True Art.

While changing to the Thunder form converts 30% of his max HP into Physical attack at a ratio of 10%, changing to the torrent form converts each Physical attack point into 10 Max HP.

Skill 1 – Sundering Strike

Default

In the default form, the sundering strike is a two phase skill where he hits two times. The first time, he performs 2 strikes that deal 150-250 (+40% of Total Physical Attack) as Physical Damage and for the second phase, Sora lunges forward and deals 240-440 (+5% of Max HP) as Physical Damage to the target.

​Thunder Form

In the thunder form, the skill is called Sundering Strike - Thunder Flash. The first time, he performs 4 strikes that deal 150-250 (+40% of Total Physical Attack) as Physical Damage and for the second phase, Sora lunges forward and deals 240-440 (+5% of Max HP) as Physical Damage to the target. During this skill cast, Sora can move freely.

Torrent Form

In the torrent form, the skill is called Sundering Strike - Overwhelm. Sora strikes two times that slows the enemy by 40% and deals 150-250 (+40% of Total Physical Attack) as Physical Damage. For the second phase, Sora lunges forward and deals 240-440 (+5% of Max HP) as Physical Damage to the target that leaves them stunned for 0.5 seconds.

Skill 2 – Windstride

Default

Sora dashes ahead and inflicts 140-200 (+55% of Total Physical Attack) as Physical Damage. He hits the ground to slow them by 40% for 0.5s and deals 140-200 (+8% of Max HP) as Physical Damage upon reaching max range. Every time he hits a hero with the skill, it’s cooldown reduces by 2 seconds.

​Thunder Form

In the Thunder form, the skill is called Windstride - Thunder Rush. Sora dashes ahead and inflicts 140-200 (+55% of Total Physical Attack) as Physical Damage and summons a thunderstorm that slows the enemy by 50% for half a second and inflicts 140-200 (+8% of Max HP) as Physical Damage. Upon a successful hit, the cooldown reduces to 4 seconds.

Torrent Form

In the Thunder form, the skill is called Windstride - Skyfall. Sora dashes ahead and inflicts 140-200 (+55% of Total Physical Attack) as Physical Damage, knocking them back. In the second phase, he hits the ground to deal 140-200 (+8% of Max HP) as Physical Damage and stun the enemy for half a second. Upon a successful hit, the cooldown reduces by 2 seconds.

Skill 3 – Ultimate

Default

The Default form Ultimate is called Shifting Skies. Swiping left will be turning Sora into Thunder form while swiping right will turn him to his Torrent form. During the ascending animation, he gains extra movement speed and becomes untargetable. Turning in the thunder form will cast lightning strikes that hits the nearby enemies 3 times and inflicts 140-200 (+50% Total Physical Attack) each.

​Thunder Form

The Thunder form skill 3 is called “Heaven’s Wrath” where he jumps into the air and casts 15 strikes to a targeted area where each hit deals 60-100 (+40% Total Physical Attack).

Torrent Form

In the Torrent Form, the skill is called “Stormbind” where he jumps into the air and hits the targeted area for 5 times and inflicts 100-150 (+4% of Max HP) as physical damage with each hit. Sora becomes airborne and can ignore any incoming damage.

By switching forms, you can either become the frontline of the team and provide aggressive control effects with Torrent form or you can choose to delete the backline of the hero using Thunder form.
