Genshin 6.0 Old Character Buffs: Albedo, Eula, Klee

First wave of character buffs

Albedo, Eula and Klee will headline the initial batch of strengthened characters.

Albedo

Rarity: 5-star  Element: Geo   Weapon: Sword

Outstanding features:

• Provides a consistent and free off-field Geo DMG whenever the enemies are hit by any sources of damage.
• Has one of the lowest Elemental Skill CD and lasts for 30 seconds, essentially making it a semi-permanent ability if it stays on the field.
• Gives an additional 125 Elemental Mastery after using Elemental Burst.
• Solar Isotoma's platform can easily be destroyed by certain bosses or enemies. In some cases, some arenas won't allow you to create one at all.
• Before C2, skill (DEF) and burst (ATK) have split scaling. As Albedo should focus on building DEF for his Elemental Skill, the damage of his burst will not be significant.
• Albedo has low base stats and lacks viable play options. Her constellation that adds fall damage contributes neither meaningful stats nor effective mechanics.
• She is widely seen as the weakest 5-star character.
• As part of this buff, Albedo’s character model is expected to be optimized and updated.

Eula

Rarity: 5-star  Element: Cryo  Weapon: Claymore

Outstanding features:

• With powerful scaling and a broad AoE, her Elemental Burst can clear enemies in a single strike.
• Her Elemental Skill reduces enemy's Physical and Cyro Resistance, and stacks with an Elemental Reaction like Superconduct.
• Eula's Grimheart mechanic prevents her from getting interrupted, allowing her to perform without a shield.
• Her Elemental Burst deals much less damage if it misses or doesn’t crit, plus it requires a large amount of energy.
• Clearing content with Physical Damage Teams is challenging, which makes Eula a niche option when requires significant investment and strategy.

Klee

Rarity: 5-star  Element: Pyro  Weapon: Catalyst

Outstanding features:

• Klee can cover a certain area and deal decent Pyro Damage through her Elemental Skill and Burst.
• She can serve as the main driver for Pyro reaction teams with her quasi-permanent Pyro application, as all her attacks apply Pyro.
• She performs well with frontloaded damage, making her a relatively reliable Pyro DPS for swiftly breaking through challenges.
• Klee can use her Charged Attack to continuously stun enemies, allowing her to damage them safely.
• She excels in quick burst of damage but cannot keep up sustained damage for long periods.

Why old characters need buffs?

• Since the launch of the Natlan region, the Spiral Abyss has clearly become much faster and more challenging. Some veteran players are really having to put in extra effort to keep up.
• Most players who have relatively low constellation levels would be motivated to invest primogems [Those who do not have enough primogems, please go to LDShop to have a look] when their first and second constellations receive significant upgrades.
• Buffing these old characters won’t negatively impact the new ones. In contrast, it can encourage veteran players to pull for constellations, which in turn helps boost overall revenue.
• The new “Lunar Elemental Reactions” mechanism introduced in version 6.0 will give many veteran players and dedicated casual players a chance to benefit and join in on the rewards.
• Buffing old characters helps keep the gameplay balanced and ensures all characters remain viable choices.

Conclusion

It is expected that the second batch of character buffs will be released soon too, and characters will include Tartaglia, Xiao and Yoimiya.

In addition, new character model archetypes will be introduced, and more older characters will receive optimized updates. Starting from version 6.0, more of these old characters are also expected to rerun in limited banners.
