Lunar Elemental Reactions Details

What are Lunar Elemental Reactions

Introduced with the release of Ineffa during Genshin Impact Version Update 5.8, Lunar Elemental Reactions are special version of existing Elemental Reactions in Genshin Impact like Electro-charged and Bloom, with special effects that not only boost the damage output of these elemental reactions but also grant special effects for certain characters based on the Lunar Elemental Reaction triggered.

Lunar Elemental Reactions are uniquely available for characters that come from Nod-Krai, the brand new region of Genshin Impact that is independent from other 7 nations and Archons.

Flins

Genshin 6.0 Flins Kit: Skill, Weapon and Constellation

Unlike normal Elemental Reactions where the elemental reaction’s damage output scales solely through the Elemental Mastery stat of both characters that initiate the Elemental Reactions, Lunar Elemental Reactions’ Damage scales on different stats based on the skill kit of the characters that trigger the Lunar Elemental Reactions in addition to the character’s Elemental Mastery Stat.

For example, Ineffa’s and Flins’ Lunar-Charge Damage is increased proportional to both their Elemental Mastery stats and their Attack stats, with every 100 attack stat increasing their Lunar-charge damage by 0.7%, up to 14%.

Additionally, all Lunar Elemental Reactions will have the same properties as the normal Elemental Reactions, like Lunar-Charge and Lunar Bloom sharing the Transformative Elemental Reaction properties of Electro-Charge and Bloom, making their damage unable to trigger critical hits but ignoring the enemies’ defense.

How To Activate Lunar Elemental Reactions

In order to activate Lunar Elemental Reactions, players will need to have special characters from the region of Nod-Krai in the party in order to activate different types of Lunar Elemental Reactions. Depending on which of the characters are present in the party, different Lunar Elemental Reactions can be triggered, such as:

- Lunar-Charged: Ineffa, Flins

- Lunar Bloom: Lauma

Lauma

Different Nod-Krai character’s skill kit and abilities will also take Lunar Elemental Reactions into account, with different skill kit and abilities increasing the damage of different Lunar Elemental Reactions like Ineffa, Flins and Lauma and different skill kits that facilitate Lunar Elemental Reactions like Aino.

Please keep in mind that in theory, players only need 1 Nod-Krai character in the party to trigger Lunar Elemental Reactions and the Lunar Elemental Reaction triggered will be determined based on the Nod-Krai Character. However, due to different effects, it is highly recommended that you bring at least 2 Nod-Krai characters for Lunar Elemental Reaction teams.

Special Nod-Krai Characters Effects & Moonsigns

In addition to their ability to trigger different Lunar Elemental Reactions, when Nod-Krai characters are present in the party, depending on the amount of Nod-Krai characters present, different effects can be triggered that alter the abilities of different Nod-Krai characters’ skill kit. This effect is known as Moonsigh.

When there is only 1 Nod-Krai character in the party, the special effect Nascent Gleam will trigger, altering effects of Nod-Krai Characters in the party:

- Ineffa: changes the appearance and ability of Birgitta.

- Flins: None

- Aino: Increase Aino’s Elemental Burst Damage and attack frequency, allowing her to deal Hydro damage in a large area more frequently.

- Lauma: Changes Burgeon,Bloom and Hyperbloom’s elemental reactions from unable to deal critical damage to being able to crit with a fixed 15% critical chance and 100% critical damage.

When there are at least 2 Nod-Krai characters in the party, the special effect Ascendant Gleam will be triggered, altering the effects of Nod-Krai Characters in the party:

- Ineffa: none

- Flins: Increase Lunar-Charge Damage Dealt by Flins by 20%

- Aino: When using her Elemental Burst, increases all party member’s Elemental Mastery by 60 for 15s.

- Lauma: Increases Party’s Lunar-Bloom Critical Rate by 10% and Critical Damage by 20%.

Please note that both Nascent Gleam and Ascendant Gleam effects CAN NOT be active at the same time. This means that for characters that have their effects changed depending on the moonsign effects like Aino and Lauma, players will need to manage their numbers of Nod-Krai characters in the party properly if they want to use them in different teams.

Special Non Nod-Krai Characters Party Effects

Additionally to the different Moonsigns effects that activate when there are Nod-Krai characters present in the party, special effects that boost Lunar Elemental Reactions can also be triggered by non Non-Krai characters when they are used in the same party as Nod-Krai characters.

When there are Nod-Krai characters in the party, whenever a non Nod-Krai character in the party uses their Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, they will increase the Lunar Elemental Reaction damage of the Nod-Krai character depending on certain conditions based on their elements:

- If the non Nod-Krai character element is Pyro, Electro or Cyro: increases the Lunar Elemental Reaction Damage by 0.9% every 100 Attack of the character.

- If the non Nod-Krai character element is Hydro: increases the Lunar Elemental Reaction Damage by 0.6% every 1000 Max HP of the character.

- If the non Nod-Krai character element is Geo: increases the Lunar Elemental Reaction Damage by 1% every 100 Defense of the character.

- If the non Nod-Krai character element is Anemo or Dendro: increases the Lunar Elemental Reaction Damage by 2.25% every 100 Elemental Mastery of the character.

This effect is calculated independently for each Non Nod-Krai character present in the party and can stack with each other to a maximum of 36% Lunar Elemental Reaction Damage boost for the party.

For example, if the party is Flins, Aino, Furina and Raiden Shogun, with Furina having 30000 max HP and Raiden Shogun having 2000 Attack, Furina will provide the party with 18% Lunar Reaction Damage Boost and Raiden Shogun will provide the party with 18% Lunar Reaction Damage Boost, stacking together to the maximum of 36% Lunar Reaction Damage Boost for Flins and Aino.

Tips & Tricks To Maximize Lunar Reaction Damage

Important Damage Calculations & Considerations

When using Lunar Elemental Reactions, depending on the different characters, their damage is calculated differently, with the damage boost to Lunar Elemental Reactions being boosted by different sources affecting the elemental reactions in different ways:

For Lunar-charged, to maximize the damage of Lunar-charged, players need to have a good balance between the Attack and EM stat of the Nod-Krai characters when using the reaction. Ideally, for both Flins and Ineffa who are the primary users of Lunar-charged, players should aim for at least 2000 Attack stat on both of them and invest in a decent amount of Elemental Mastery to maximize the damage output of Lunar-charged.

For Lunar Bloom, since the elemental reaction functions similarly to Bloom, players should focus on boosting Lauma’s Elemental Reaction stats as high as possible to boost the Lunar Bloom damage output.

An important note regarding Lunar Bloom that players need to know is that, unlike Lunar-charged which completely replace Electro-charged when Nod-Krai characters are on the field, Lunar Bloom and Bloom can coexist at the same time, with Lunar Bloom and Bloom damage being calculated completely differently to each other. Additionally, Lauma’s kit changes entirely whenever she wants to be on the Bloom team or Lunar Bloom team depending on the Moonsign, so players should be careful when making a team for Lauma.

Team Building Recommendations

When building a team for Lunar Elemental Reaction for characters like Ineffa, Flins, Aino and Lauma, players need to take into account both the special Moonsign effects of each individual Nod-Krai character and the special party effects of non Nod-Krai characters in order to maximize the damage output of Lunar Elemental reaction.

Columbina

Genshin Columbina (The Damselette), The Flagship Character Moon Maiden Arrives!

To maximize the Lunar Elemental Reaction damage, it is highly recommended that players form a party of 2 Nod-Krai Characters and 2 Non Nod-Krai Characters. This is to ensure that the Nod-Krai characters in the party can fully activate the Ascendant Gleam Moonsign effect to boost their kit while also allows up to 2 different Non Nod-Krai characters to boost the Lunar Elemental Damage output of the entire team through the special team effects.

Additionally, the main DPS option of the team should be equipped with new Night of the Sky's Unveiling artifact set that increases the wearer’s Critical Rate by 30% when the Ascendant Gleam is active and boost the overall Lunar Elemental Reaction damage of the user when the team trigger a Lunar Elemental reaction.

Please note that for certain Nod-Krai characters like Lauma and Aino, due to how their skill kit changes depending on if there is 1 Nod-Krai character in the team or if there are 2 Nod-Krai characters in the team, changing the team’s composition accordingly to change their skill kit to maximize their damage output is highly recommended.
