Ark of Osiris, usually shortened to AOO, is the alliance battleground that most active Rise of Kingdoms players build their whole event calendar around. It runs roughly every two weeks and pits two randomly matched alliances against each other for a full hour of scored combat.
This guide walks through how the event is structured, what you need to qualify, how scoring actually works, and what separates alliances that win consistently from ones that just show up.
Event Overview
At its core, AOO is a scheduled alliance-versus-alliance battle. Each side fields up to 30 combatants chosen by alliance leadership, and both alliances are dropped into a purpose-built battleground that has nothing to do with the regular kingdom map. Points come from capturing and holding structures, escorting the Ark itself, and defeating enemy troops, and whichever alliance has more points when the timer runs out wins the match.

Because the battlefield resets separately from your kingdom, troops don't actually die in AOO. Healing still costs speedups, but it never touches your resources, which changes the calculus quite a bit compared to normal PvP. You can afford to play aggressively in a way that would be reckless anywhere else.
Eligibility and Registration
Not every alliance can just walk into AOO. To register, an alliance generally needs more than 10 alliance flags and a ranking inside the kingdom's top 20 by alliance power. On the player side, governors need to have joined the alliance and reached City Hall level 16 or higher before their alliance registers; anyone who doesn't meet that bar isn't eligible to be picked as a combatant for that match.

Matches happen on a fairly predictable cadence, with most kingdoms seeing two or three AOO events a month. Since 1.0.88, the mode also split individual stats into separate Golden Battlefield and Silver Battlefield tracking, and the Golden Battlefield now uses five coordinator slots per team, which gives leadership a bit more room to assign specific roles during the match.
How the Battlefield Works
Most AOO maps follow a three-lane layout: a contested middle lane where the Ark itself spawns, and two side lanes where alliances fight over fixed buildings. Some matches use a five-lane version instead, where lane assignments are looser and positioning matters even more.

The middle lane is open-field combat. This is where the strongest commanders, troop tech, and gear in your alliance should be concentrated, since holding the Ark area usually decides the match. The side lanes work differently: there's no open-field fighting there, and control comes down almost entirely to rallies. Building up rally targets, timing them well, and having enough firepower to both capture and then defend a building is the whole side-lane game.
Resource nodes are also scattered around the map, and while they're easy to overlook when the middle lane is chaotic, gathering nearby resources adds a steady trickle of extra points. If you're a lower-power player without priority teleport access, this is often the most useful job you can do.

Scoring and the Ark Itself
Points come from a few different sources. Killing enemy troops while defending a structure or fighting in the open field earns individual points based on the power destroyed, and attacking a structure to take it from the enemy earns even more per equivalent power killed. None of this awards alliance-wide points directly, though; alliance points come specifically from holding structures and escorting the Ark.
The Ark is the single biggest score swing in the match. It spawns in the center of the map, and if your alliance can pick it up and physically carry it back to an unoccupied structure, you get a large point bonus. Each time the Ark respawns after being delivered, the reward for the next successful escort increases, so contesting it repeatedly through the match matters more than trying to win it just once.
Rewards: Golden vs Silver Battlefield
AOO rewards scale with which battlefield tier you're playing in and how you perform individually.

At two events a month, a consistently strong Golden Battlefield player can be looking at close to 5,000 gems monthly just from AOO, which is why it's often treated as the single most efficient F2P event in the game. Silver Battlefield is friendlier for less competitive alliances and still pays out in legendary sculptures, just without the same gem ceiling.

Preparation Tips
Clearing your hospital before the match starts is worth doing every time, since it gives you full healing capacity for the fight ahead. Defense-boost items tend to matter more here than usual too, mainly because you're already getting an attack boost from the event itself, so stacking defense helps balance that out.
Army expansion buffs are worth activating, though a 25% expansion is usually the safer call over a 50% one outside of open-field combat, since going too large can create friction with how the rest of your alliance is coordinating marches. Pop your troop capacity buff as well so your marches are hitting at full strength from the opening minutes.
Decide your march setup before the event goes live rather than scrambling mid-match. Commander pairings matter a lot here, and checking a current tier list before locking in your loadout is a good habit if you're not sure which pairing suits your role. Joining your alliance's coordination channel early and confirming your assignment ahead of time also matters more than raw power in a lot of matches; AOO tends to reward alliances that communicate well over alliances that are simply strong on paper.
If you're not a top-power player and won't be first in line to teleport into contested fights, resource gathering and side-lane support are usually the better use of your time than trying to force your way into the middle-lane fight.
FAQ
Does Ark of Osiris cost resources if my troops get hurt?
No. Healing inside AOO costs speedups, not resources, and none of it carries over to affect your kingdom or your troops outside the event.
How often does Ark of Osiris happen?
Most kingdoms see it roughly every two weeks, with some months fitting in two or three matches depending on scheduling.
Is Ark of Osiris worth it for F2P players?
Yes, and it's often considered one of the best F2P-friendly events in the game. Hitting the 10,000 individual point threshold in the Golden Battlefield can be worth up to 2,500 gems per win, which adds up quickly across a month.
What's the difference between Golden and Silver Battlefield?
Golden Battlefield is the higher-stakes track with a bigger gem ceiling and more sculptures, generally suited to stronger, more competitive alliances. Silver Battlefield still pays out in legendary sculptures but is aimed at less competitive alliances and doesn't carry the same gem rewards.
Why can't my alliance register for AOO?
Registration requires more than 10 alliance flags and a spot in the kingdom's top 20 by alliance power. If your alliance falls short of either requirement, it won't be eligible to register that cycle.
What's the single biggest scoring opportunity in a match?
Escorting the Ark to an unoccupied structure. It's worth more than almost anything else on the board, and the reward increases each time the Ark respawns and gets delivered again.
