Calibarn Gundam (Final Battle) and Destiny Gundam EX

Calibarn Gundam (Final Battle)

As the third UR unit from the Witch from Mercury series, Calibarn Gundam is classified under the One-Shot Killer tag, becoming the second limited UR for that tag.

Calibarn Gundam (Final Battle)

Core Unit Characteristics:

Excellent Battlefield Adaptability: Good adaptability in all terrain types and a 5 Move allow it to be active on most maps, with flexible attack range when paired with its pilot.

Contradictory yet Balanced Armament Design: Its EX Weapon, the "Variable Rod Rifle EX," boasts solid power (base 6840) but employs a unique HP-cost mechanic (10%). Its weapon effect is even more unique: the higher its HP, the greater the damage dealt. This creates an interesting tactical loop—high HP leads to high damage, but attacking lowers HP, affecting subsequent output.

Variable Rod Rifle EX

Survivability & Sustain: The unit possesses 40% Beam Weapon Damage Reduction.

Strength Analysis & Combat Role:
Calibarn's damage mechanism means it's not a "brainless powerhouse." Its damage output is excellent on its first turn at full HP, but diminishes as its HP decreases during battle. Therefore, it heavily relies on battleship healing or support to maintain its high-damage threshold. Compared to the rerun Strike Freedom Gundam, Calibarn has a higher theoretical damage ceiling at full HP, but its practical output is less stable.

Pilot Analysis: Suletta Mercury

Suletta's role is that of a functional triple-action core. Her primary value lies in piloting Calibarn, where she reduces the EX weapon's HP cost to 5% and provides crucial 60% HP recovery via her active skill, sustaining the unit's high-damage performance. However, this healing skill has a high SP cost, requiring commanders to make smart turn-by-turn choices between "sustain" and "burst." Her Awakening stat can reach 983 after using her skill, and while it doesn't break the 1000 mark, it's sufficient for most scenarios. Overall, she is a pilot that requires careful management to consistently translate Calibarn's mechanical potential into combat performance.

Destiny Gundam (EX)

Destiny Gundam unabashedly showcases "violent aesthetics," carrying the Ace Unit tag and also fitting into the recently buffed Tough as Nails team.

Destiny Gundam (EX)

Core Unit Characteristics:

Terrifying Burst Damage: In the EX2 phase's guaranteed critical state, combined with the unit's innate 20% Critical Damage boost, its single-turn burst damage is off the charts.

Solid All-Round Foundation: The unit has 40% Physical Damage Reduction. Its EX Weapon, the "Arondight Beam Sword," has extremely high power (scales with MP) and is complemented by a conventional 5-range weapon to cover range limitations.

Arondight Beam Sword

Shinn Asuka:
Shinn Asuka's value, in a way, surpasses that of the Destiny Gundam itself. His revolutionary "Supercharged EX" mechanic is a bold innovation in the game's systems.

Shinn Asuka

The New "Supercharged EX" Mechanic: This is the highlight of the update. When Shinn Asuka pilots Destiny Gundam (or any other unit) and enters the "Supercharged" state, it triggers special phases:

Supercharged EX1 Phase: Immediately gains +20% to Critical Rate, Melee, and Reaction stats for the turn, and MP is locked (no consumption).

Supercharged EX2 Phase (Next Turn): The state upgrades to guaranteed Critical Hits, with Melee and Reaction stat boosts soaring to +50%. MP remains locked.Cost: After the EX2 phase ends, MP is reduced by 12, entering a downtime period.

His greatest appeal lies in his astonishing versatility: The first turn (EX1) grants +20% to all relevant stats and locks MP. The second turn (EX2) enters a berserk state with guaranteed crits and +50% stat boosts. Although the third turn sees him weakened due to drained MP, in short PvE stages or scoring events, this is enough to annihilate targets instantly. Therefore, pulling for Shinn Asuka is akin to adding a "Two-Turn Tyrant" to your entire melee pilot roster—his strategic value is immense.

Rerun Reminder: Strike Freedom Gundam

This banner also features a rerun of the highly versatile and powerful Strike Freedom Gundam. For commanders who missed it previously or wish to upgrade its potential, this is an excellent second chance. It remains a reliable core unit for many team compositions.

Pulling Advice: Rationally Plan Your New Year Diamonds

Players Prioritizing Meta Strength:
Prioritize Destiny Gundam. Both the unit's groundbreaking burst potential and the pilot's unparalleled versatility make him one of the most valuable investments in the current version.

F2P / Light Spenders:
It is recommended to concentrate resources on the Destiny Gundam. Shinn Asuka's value as a pilot offers great "bang for your buck."
If your One-Shot Killer team lacks a core DPS and you don't have Strike Freedom, Calibarn can be considered. If you already have Strike Freedom, Calibarn's improvement is relatively limited.

Fans & Collectors:
Follow your heart! Both Calibarn Gundam and Destiny Gundam possess their own unique appeal.

The two new units featured in this banner have distinct strategic roles: Destiny Gundam is a weapon of extreme short-term burst, while Calibarn Gundam is a sustain-oriented specialist requiring meticulous management, trading HP for damage. For players seeking to deepen their roster and maximize burst potential, Shinn Asuka's priority is undeniable.
