A tight, well‑built team will carry you further than a dozen half‑invested units. Below, LDShop stripped the fleet down to the five essential Star Sailors team compositions. Each table shows formation, so you know exactly what to aim for.
How the 6‑Slot Formation Works
Every team in Star Sailors is built from six slots:
1. Adventurer, which is mandatory frontline fighter, class can be changed later.
2. Battle Partners: Attackers and Defenders, they stand on the battlefield with you.
3. Assist Partners: Supporters and Debuffers, they sit on the backline and provide buffs/debuffs without taking damage.
4. Monster Partner: it provides passive stat bonuses and a timed active skill; the Monster never enters the field but its element and stats matter a great deal.
A full mono‑element team with a matching Monster Partner unlocks devastating chain attack bonuses during Overdrive, successive attacks of the same element deal significantly more damage. That’s why the templates below always recommend an element‑matched Monster when possible, even for mixed early‑game setups.
Early Game F2P Team
|
Adventurer |
Battle Partner 1 |
Battle Partner 2 |
|---|---|---|
|
Swordsman (Attacker) |
Soul (Fire Attacker) |
Remi (Earth Defender) |
|
Assist Partner 1 |
Assist Partner 2 |
Monster Partner |
|
Caroline (Fire Debuffer) |
Dora (Water Supporter) |
Any early Monster; match element if possible |
A perfectly balanced starter setup using only free story units. Swordsman and Soul handle damage, Remi keeps the frontline alive, Caroline reduces enemy damage and strips buffs, and Dora offers a party‑wide ATK buff alongside a heal over time. The Monster slot can be filled with whatever you obtain early, which aim for a Fire or Earth Monster once you start building mono teams. And reminder, you can replace Dora with Ed or Hunter K if pulled.

Rak (Fire Defender) |
|
Assist Partner 1 |
Assist Partner 2 |
Monster Partner |
|
Caroline (Fire Debuffer) |
Ed (Fire Supporter) |
Fire Monster |
Your gateway to chain attack synergy. Highlander and your Fire DPS stack debuffs, Rak provides a sturdy frontline, and the double Fire Assist (Caroline + Ed) heals, cleanses, and pumps up fire damage. A Fire Monster pushes your Overdrive burst even higher. The moment you pull Heidi, swap her in for Soul, she turns this team into a map‑wide nuke engine.
F2P Earth Team (Boss Killer)
|
Adventurer |
Battle Partner 1 |
Battle Partner 2 |
|---|---|---|
|
Sage (Supporter) |
Any Attacker (ideally Nina) |
Remi (Earth Defender) |
|
Assist Partner 1 |
Assist Partner 2 |
Monster Partner |
|
Jerry (Earth Support) |
Nutty (Earth Debuffer) |
Earth Monster |
Built to melt single targets. Sage provides sustain and buffs, your best single‑target attacker (Nina if you have her, otherwise any well‑geared DPS) focuses the enemy down, and Remi absorbs pressure. Jerry amps earth damage, Nutty applies control debuffs, and an Earth Monster ties the element together. If you missed Heidi, invest here. Reminder,Sage can be replaced with Enchanter.
Inferno Fire Team (Spender / Premium)
|
Adventurer |
Battle Partner 1 |
Battle Partner 2 |
|---|---|---|
|
Highlander (Attacker) |
Heidi (Fire DPS) |
Jen (Fire Tank) |
|
Assist Partner 1 |
Assist Partner 2 |
Monster Partner |
|
Caroline (Fire Debuffer) |
Ed (Fire Supporter) |
Fire Monster |
The ultimate fire comp. Jen makes your squad nearly unkillable with heals and damage reduction, Heidi unleashes devastating AoE, and Caroline + Ed form the perfect support & debuffing enemies, cleansing your team, and supercharging fire damage. A Fire Monster locks in the full chain attack bonus, melting everything in your path. Use this for both story and rapid AoE farming.
Nina Checkmate Team (Spender / Premium)
|
Adventurer |
Battle Partner 1 |
Battle Partner 2 |
|---|---|---|
|
Sage (Supporter) |
Nina (Earth DPS) |
Any Defender (Jen, Erling, Remi) |
|
Assist Partner 1 |
Assist Partner 2 |
Monster Partner |
|
Hunter K (Support) |
Jerry (Earth Support) |
Light or Earth Monster |
Hunter K’s ATK and crit rate buff turns Nina into a crit‑capped executioner, while Jerry layers on earth amplification. The Sage adventurer keeps the team healthy, and your flex defender slot lets you bring whatever tank best suits the fight. If you own Kaira and Gerbil, trade them in for Hunter K and Jerry,,this mirrors the premium Boss Focus template and gives you healing, buff‑stripping, and massive debuff control, all while a Light Monster pushes your Overdrive chain to its limit.
Conclusion
Your Star Sailors team needs a sharp focus: one main DPS, one sturdy tank, an element‑matched Monster, and supports that amplify your core strategy.
And if you’re ready to secure the next must‑have character, make sure you’re topping up safely. LDShop can offer discounted, secure in‑game top‑ups so you can power up your crew without the hassle.
