The game was originally introduced with a broad 2026 window before its summer gameplay reveal locked in the final launch date. Thankfully, this is no longer one of those mysterious “coming sometime next year” situations—the squad is almost ready to deploy.

What Time Does STAR WARS Zero Company Release?

The official launch is scheduled for 3:00 PM UTC on August 27, 2026. Unlike a rolling midnight release, this creates one shared worldwide unlock time, which means players in Asia and Australia will enter the battlefield late at night or just after midnight.

Here is the expected regional schedule:

Local Release Time

US West Coast

August 27, 8:00 AM PDT

US East Coast

No Early Access or Advanced Access period has been announced. Both the Standard and Deluxe Editions unlock at the regular worldwide release time.

Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack

The Deluxe Edition adds the Grand Army of the Republic Cosmetic Pack, Shadow Collective Cosmetic Pack, and five exclusive painted weapon themes. These are customization extras rather than extra campaign missions or an earlier start.

For most players, the Standard Edition looks perfectly complete. The Deluxe upgrade makes more sense if you enjoy decorating your squad with Clone Wars-inspired armor, tattoos, helmets, and weapon designs. Just do not buy it expecting to sneak onto the battlefield a few days ahead of everyone else—the launch order applies to the whole company.

Once you know how much the extra cosmetics matter to you, price is the next thing worth comparing. If the game is already on your August wishlist, check LDShop to buy a STAR WARS Zero Company key at a more wallet-friendly price. Choose the available option that matches your platform and region, then get ready to deploy on August 27.

What Platforms Is STAR WARS Zero Company On?

PC

EA app, Steam, Epic Games Store

PlayStation

PlayStation 5

Xbox

Xbox Series X|S

There are currently no announced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch versions. The game is being developed around current-generation consoles and PC, so players on older hardware will need to upgrade platforms before joining Hawks and the crew.

It is also a dedicated single-player experience. There is no competitive multiplayer or co-op campaign to organize around launch, which is probably good news for anyone who prefers spending twenty minutes perfecting one turn without a teammate shouting, “Just take the shot!”

What Is STAR WARS Zero Company About?

STAR WARS Zero Company

Set near the end of the Clone Wars, the story follows Hawks, a customizable former Republic officer leading Zero Company—an independent squad hired for covert investigations and tactical operations.

Your team combines recruitable Custom Operators with story-driven companions, including Clone Trooper Trick, Jedi Padawan Tel-Rea Vokoss, Mandalorian warrior Cly Kullervo, and Umbaran sniper Luco Bronc. Together, they hunt Kundri Fathom, leader of the Separatist-aligned Infinite Coil.

The main campaign is expected to last around 30 to 40 hours. Although the overall storyline is linear, your mission decisions, squad composition, injuries, and character relationships can change individual moments along the way.

How Does STAR WARS Zero Company Play?

STAR WARS Zero Company

Unlike the real-time action of STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor or STAR WARS Outlaws, Zero Company puts you behind the holotable in isometric, turn-based battles.

Each Operator receives three Action Points per turn for movement, attacks, abilities, equipment, and Overwatch. Cover, high ground, flanking, and positioning all affect your chances of surviving—and landing the perfect shot.

Successful attacks build Advantage, a shared resource used for powerful abilities such as extra Action Points, accuracy boosts, and rocket strikes. You can also combine skills, like Force-pushing an enemy out of cover and straight into a teammate’s Overwatch zone.

Mistakes have lasting consequences. Operators receive an Injury when downed, and suffering three Injuries results in permanent death on standard difficulty.

Between missions, you return to the Den to recruit and customize Operators, heal injuries, improve facilities, upgrade equipment, and develop Bonds between squad members. Stronger Bonds unlock combat bonuses and Cross Training benefits.

For me, this mix of tactical combat, squad relationships, customization, and cinematic storytelling is the game’s biggest hook. It feels like a proper Star Wars campaign built around strategy, rather than familiar mechanics wearing a galactic costume.

STAR WARS Zero Company FAQ

Do I need to play another Star Wars game first?

No. Zero Company tells an original, standalone story. Familiarity with the Clone Wars will help you recognize its setting and returning characters, but no previous game is required.

Is STAR WARS Zero Company multiplayer?

No. It is designed as a single-player turn-based tactics game and does not currently include multiplayer or co-op modes.

How long is the campaign?

The main story is estimated to take approximately 30 to 40 hours. Difficulty, tactical experience, and the amount of optional content you complete can affect the total playtime.

Does STAR WARS Zero Company have permadeath?

Yes. On standard difficulty, an Operator permanently dies after suffering three Injuries. Hawks is essential to the story, so losing Hawks causes the mission to fail instead.

Can you create your own squad members?

Yes. Alongside the authored story characters, you can recruit and customize Operators with different names, species, appearances, weapons, specializations, and backstories.

Conclusion

STAR WARS Zero Company launches worldwide on August 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM UTC for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There is no Early Access period, so every commander begins the campaign together.

With customizable Operators, dangerous tactical battles, permanent consequences, and a fresh look at the Clone Wars from behind the front lines, Zero Company feels like a welcome change of pace for Star Wars games. Time to prepare the squad—and remember, having the high ground is still a perfectly valid strategy.
