Meliodas, the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins, is one of the most powerful DPS characters in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. He can use three different weapon type: Longsword, Axe, and Dual Swords, each with its own unique playstyle.
Today, LDShop will breaks down the best builds for every weapon, along with a universal team that works for all of them.
Longsword Meliodas
The Longsword playstyle focuses on normal skill spam and capitalizing on the Darkness Burst debuff for sustained damage.

Best Weapons
- Best in Slot: Gluttonous Soul Longsword
Increases Darkness damage after using a Normal Skill, which fits perfectly into the Longsword’s rotation.

- Alternatives: Crimson Flame Longsword/ Jet‑black Longsword
The Crimson Flame boosts Attack after a Burst is activated; the Jet‑black increases Crit Chance after an Ultimate Move.

Core Mechanics & Rotation
Longsword Meliodas revolves around his passive Speed Master: when you land a Normal Skill on an enemy afflicted with Darkness Burst, you deal extra damage and reduce the cooldown of that Normal Skill.
Rotation:
1. Apply Darkness Burst : Use a teammate or Tag Skill to put Darkness Burst on the target.
2. Spam Normal Skill - Chain Attack: Thanks to the cooldown reduction, you can use it frequently. This is your main damage source.
3. Use Special Skill - Abyssal Dash: It resets its cooldown when hitting a Darkness Burst target and grants Haste stacks, further boosting damage.
4. Finish with Ultimate - Blazing Cross: Deals double damage against enemies with Darkness Burst, but removes the debuff on the final hit. Use it as a finisher.

Potential
- Tier 5: Reduces the passive’s Darkness Burst duration penalty, increases Normal Skill cooldown reduction, and gives an extra Haste stack on Special Skill.
- Tier 7: Adds bonus damage to the final strike of the Normal Skill.
- Tier 10: Adds massive bonus damage to the final strike of the Ultimate Move—perfect for a finishing blow.
Axe Meliodas
Axe Meliodas is all about charged attacks and stacking Infernal Release for huge burst windows. It requires good timing but rewards you with the highest damage potential among the three builds.

Best Weapons
- Best in Slot: Black Flame Wings Axe
Provides high Attack and Crit Chance, directly boosting all your damage.

- Alternatives: Crimson Flame Axe/ Jet‑black Axe
Same as before: Attack on Burst activation, or Crit Chance after Ultimate.

Core Mechanics & Rotation
The Axe build centers on the Strike Master passive. By repeatedly applying and removing Demon Energy, you gain stacks of Infernal Release, which significantly increases Darkness damage.
Rotation:
1. Apply Demon Energy: Use your charged Special Skill Abyssal Power Smash or the Tag Skill Power Arc.
2. Remove Demon Energy:Use Normal Skill Circle Slash to teleport behind a Demon Energy–affected enemy, dealing damage and removing the debuff. Each removal gives you one stack of Infernal Release (max 3).
3. Charge & unleash: Use the charged Special Skill again for devastating damage. The higher your Infernal Release stacks, the harder it hits.
4. Reset with Ultimate Demon’s Fighting Spirit: If you have 3 or more Infernal Release stacks, your Ultimate resets all skill cooldowns, letting you repeat the whole combo.
Potential
- Tier 5: When using Special Skill, increases Darkness damage by 30% for 20 seconds and makes you immune to interruptions while charging. A must‑have for comfort.
- Tier 7: Adds bonus damage to the final strike of the Normal Skill.
- Tier 10: Slightly increases Ultimate range, and increases Demon Energy damage by 100% for 10 seconds on hit enemies.
Dual Swords Meliodas
Dual Swords is the most popular weapon type for Meliodas, praised for its smooth gameplay, high attack speed, and massive burst potential. The key is entering Demonic Power and staying there.
Best Weapons
- Best in Slot: Black Flame Wings Dual Swords
Attack and Crit Chance ,again the top choice.

- Alternatives: Crimson Flame Dual Swords / Jet‑black Dual Swords
Solid transitional options.

Core Mechanics & Rotation
The Spirit Master passive defines Dual Swords: landing 5 hits on an enemy with Darkness Burst activates Demonic Power for 20 seconds. While active, all your abilities are enhanced.
Rotation:
1. Trigger Demonic Power: Have a teammate apply Darkness Burst (usually via the “Fire‑to‑Darkness” conversion), then quickly land 5 hits with Meliodas.
2. Spam Normal Attacks: While in Demonic Power, each Normal Attack hit reduces the cooldown of your Normal Skill.
3. Use Normal Skill Burning Slash: In Demonic Power, it deals AoE damage and heals you based on your Attack.
4. Extend the window with Special Skill Dark Rapid Slash: Each hit increases the duration of Darkness Burst.
5. Unleash Ultimate X Slash Flurry: Against enemies with Hellfire (applied by Demonic Power), each hit removes one stack and deals +15% damage per stack. The final strike is a guaranteed critical hit.
Potential
- Tier 5: Increases Special Skill range, and while in Demonic Power the final strike reduces both Special Skill and Normal Skill cooldowns by 50%. A huge QoL upgrade.
- Tier 7: The final strike of the Normal Skill deals bonus damage and applies 5 stacks of Hellfire when in Demonic Power.
- Tier 10: While in Demonic Power, each hit of the Ultimate reduces its cooldown by 1 second, and the final strike deals massive bonus damage.
Team Composition
No matter which weapon you choose, Meliodas’s core mechanic relies on Darkness Burst. The most effective and F2P friendly way to enable it is the Fire‑to‑Darkness conversion team.
Recommended Team
- Main DPS: Meliodas (any weapon)
- Fire Enabler 1: Tristan (Dual Swords), quickly builds the Elemental Burst gauge with fire attacks.
- Fire Enabler 2: Tioreh (Book & Wand) ,provides an activation a Fire element burst.
- Conversion Support: Bug, the key unit. His skill “corrupts” any existing Elemental Burst into Darkness Burst.

This budget team gives you access to Meliodas’s full damage potential without needing rare characters. As you progress, you can replace the fire enablers with other characters that apply Darkness Burst more directly or provide stronger buffs, but the core idea remains the same.
