Reflection Temple is a solo horror puzzle event in Where Winds Meet where surviving means paying attention to a growing list of taboos. The catch is that several deaths are actually required to move the story forward, so trying to avoid every taboo on your first run will only leave you stuck.
This guide covers the complete Reflection Temple route, including the required deaths, three Charm Coins, offering puzzle, Part 2 escape, and event rewards.
How to Start Reflection Temple
Open Windtail's Jianghu → Events → Reflection Temple, then select Go to teleport to the event area.
Before entering, you can choose your camera and horror settings:
· First Person: More immersive, but with a narrower field of view.
· Third Person: Easier for navigation and keeping track of nearby threats.
· Thrill Mode: The standard horror experience with full scares and audio effects.
· Mild Mode: Softens the horror and gives additional warnings around certain scares.
You can change your POV at any time from the Scroll of Deliverance menu, so Third Person is a good choice if you are mainly trying to clear the event efficiently.
Reflection Temple becomes available on August 27, 2026 and runs until September 27, 2026 at 4:59:59 (UTC+8).
Reflection Temple Taboos Explained
The temple starts with five rules, but more are revealed as you progress. There are nine possible taboo deaths in total.
|
Taboo |
What You Need to Know |
|
Seek No Voices Before the Temple |
Do not turn around while the opening voice is calling you. |
|
Never Enter the Temple Alone |
This death is required once. Your shadow remains afterward and becomes your companion. |
|
Take No Altar Offerings |
Do not take the Paper Effigy too early. |
|
Let No Child's Shadow Touch You |
Keep the child statues in sight or they will move toward you. |
|
Never Answer to Ghostly Calls |
Stay silent when questioned during the lift sequence. |
|
Consume No Food of the Dead |
Do not eat the food found in the courtyard. |
|
Never Mix the Five Offerings |
This taboo must eventually be broken to continue. |
|
Steal No Relics From the Dark |
Taking the candle relic causes another required death. |
|
Never Look Into Wells in Pairs |
Important during Part 2: do not inspect the well again. |
The important point is that not every death means you made a mistake. The first temple entrance, the offering sequence, and the candle sequence deliberately use death to advance the puzzle.
Reflection Temple Part 1 Walkthrough
1. Reach the Temple and Survive the Opening Voice
As soon as the sequence begins, a voice will tell you to turn around.
Do not turn around while it is speaking. Wait until the call has ended before exploring behind you.
You can then check the nearby chest, letter, skeleton, and other clues before heading toward the temple entrance. There is also another clue and chest near the right side of the entrance.
2. Enter the Temple and Accept the First Required Death
The rule says Never Enter the Temple Alone, but there is no way around it on your first entry.
Walk inside and let the taboo trigger.
After you respawn, a shadow/reflection of your character will remain behind. This shadow counts as your companion, allowing you to enter the temple safely on the next attempt.
Do not take the Paper Effigy near the well yet.
You can also open the door to the left of the entrance and inspect the clue inside before continuing.
3. Get Past the Child Statues
The next section introduces three child statues.
They behave like moving statues: when you look away, they move toward you. If one reaches you, you die.
Keep them within your field of view while repositioning and move through the area carefully. Third Person makes this section considerably easier.
Once you enter the lower well route, keep moving and prepare for a chase.
4. Collect All 3 Charm Coins
There are three Charm Coins along this escape route.
Pick up the first coin and immediately start running, as a puppet will chase you. Continue along the main route for the second coin, then grab the third before heading toward the lift.

Avoid unnecessary side paths during the chase. Several lead nowhere and only give the pursuer more time to catch you.
5. Stay Silent on the Lift
Once you reach the lift, a ghostly child will question you.
Do not answer.
Responding breaks Never Answer to Ghostly Calls and kills you. Stay silent and continue once the sequence allows you to move on.
Afterward, collect the key, open the available doors, and make your way around the rear of the temple. When the direct route is locked, use the alternate path to continue.
6. Collect the Five Offerings
Eventually you will reach the courtyard and offering area.

Inspect the note and obtain the Rotten Meat, but do not eat anything from the nearby food stall. Eating the Nether Food triggers Consume No Food of the Dead.
By the time you reach this section, two of the five offerings should already have been obtained through the earlier route. The remaining three are:
· Cold White Rice — near the gate on the right.
· Soaked Riverweed — search the coffin on the opposite side.
· Withered Paper Flowers — inspect the crack beside the nearby house.
Once you have all five, return to the temple and place them on the offering plates.
7. Get the Candle Relic
After respawning, return to the temple and take the candle relic from the monk.
This breaks another taboo and causes one more required death.
When you respawn again, retrieve the candle from your shadow instead. You can also loot the chest to the left of the altar and inspect the nearby skeleton before leaving.
8. Return to the Starting Well
Go back to the original well.
Place the candle on the candlestick, then collect the Paper Effigy from the well. You can now leave the temple and complete Part 1.
Reflection Temple Part 2 Walkthrough
Part 2 is shorter, but this is also the section that matters if you want a clean run without breaking taboos.
1. Do Not Look Into the Well
After leaving the temple, inspect the note on the ground and head back toward the offering area.
You may be tempted to inspect the well again.
Do not do it.
Looking into it now triggers Never Look Into Wells in Pairs and kills you.
2. Follow the Black Goat

Exit through the gate on the right and inspect the bag just outside. Check the corpses and note on the opposite side, then follow the black goat along the path.
Stay on its route rather than wandering away.
When the goat jumps down, do not jump directly after it. Take the normal road down instead.
At the bottom, collect the goat meat and inspect the nearby room.
3. Finish the Final Offering
Return to the offering plates and place the goat meat onto the plate.
Then head back to the well and drop the Paper Effigy inside.
Leave the temple area once more to finish Reflection Temple.
How to Complete the No-Taboo Objective
You cannot make your initial Part 1 run completely deathless because several taboo violations are built into the progression.
For the objective that requires you to leave the temple without violating any taboos, focus on completing Part 2 without dying.
You can replay it through the Scroll of Deliverance menu by choosing Re-enter the Temple.
For a clean Part 2 run, remember the three main points:
· Do not look into the well.
· Follow the black goat's route and use the road down instead of jumping after it.
· Complete the goat meat offering and return the Paper Effigy to the well.
Reflection Temple Rewards
Completing event objectives gives Soulbound Paper. Accumulating it unlocks the following rewards:
|
Soulbound Paper |
Reward |
|
20 |
Coin ×5,000 |
|
40 |
Modulating Stone: Mirage ×2 |
|
60 |
Inner Way Note: Chest ×5 |

Make sure to return to the event menu after finishing the route and claim each collection milestone.
Final Tips
Reflection Temple is much easier once you know which deaths are required and which taboos should actually be avoided. Use Third Person for better visibility, switch to Mild Mode if you prefer fewer scares, and use the Part 2 replay for your no-taboo clear.
