Best 3.5 Echo & Sonata Pairings

Yangyang: Xuanling: Thousand-Puppet Pavilion

Yangyang: Xuanling

Yangyang: Xuanling is the cleanest user of the Havoc version of Song of Feathered Trace. Her kit is centered on Havoc Bane, and current kit summaries describe her as a Havoc Sword main DPS whose damage comes mainly from Heavy Attack chains, stance cycling, and Havoc Bane stack payoff. That lines up perfectly with this combo: the main Echo gives Havoc DMG and Heavy Attack DMG, then adds extra Havoc hits whenever the wearer inflicts Havoc Bane; the 5-pc set adds Crit Rate and Heavy Attack DMG after inflicting Havoc Bane. Nothing is wasted here. It improves her trigger condition, damage type, and main damage category at the same time.

Suisui: Forbidden Bastion main Echo + Song of Feathered Trace

Suisui

Suisui should use the Glacio Chafe support side of Song of Feathered Trace, not the Havoc DPS side. Her kit applies Glacio Chafe through multiple actions, including her Intro and follow-up field effects, while her team buffs scale heavily with Energy Regen. That makes the set’s 2-pc Energy Regen useful, and the 5-pc Chongming’s Feather effect is basically made for her: after inflicting Glacio Chafe, she converts her Energy Regen into a team ATK bonus.

The Forbidden Bastion main Echo also makes sense because it gives Healing Bonus in the main slot, which supports Suisui’s healer/amplifier role. She does not need personal damage from the Echo; she wants healing stability, ER, and a cleaner buff window.

Jingran: Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis + Lamp of Nether Road

Jingran

Jingran is the natural target for Rustfire Chassis + Lamp of Nether Road, assuming his current pre-release direction holds. The logic is very direct: Rustfire Chassis deals Fusion DMG based on Max HP, gives Fusion DMG Bonus, and also gives Heavy Attack DMG Bonus in the main slot. Lamp of Nether Road then adds HP, Crit Rate after gaining Shields, and Fusion DMG at max stacks.

Current pre-release info points to Jingran as a Fusion Broadblade main DPS with HP scaling, shield-focused gameplay, and enhanced Heavy Attack pressure, so this combo supports all three pillars at once: HP scaling, shield stacking, and Fusion Heavy Attack output.

Qingxiao: Heart of Evil’s Purge + Future main Echo

Qingxiao

For Qingxiao, the important part is Heart of Evil’s Purge, but I would be careful with the main Echo choice. The set itself is clearly aimed at an Aero DPS who can inflict Tune Strain - Shifting, because it gives Aero DMG on 2-pc and then adds Crit DMG plus more Aero DMG after triggering Tune Strain - Shifting.

Current pre-release discussion points to Qingxiao as an Aero main DPS tied to Tune Strain, so she is the real match for this Sonata Set. However, if the main Echo shown is Rustfire Chassis, that specific main Echo is not ideal for her because its Fusion / HP / Heavy Attack bonuses do not match Aero damage. For Qingxiao, use Heart of Evil’s Purge with a proper Aero/Tune main Echo, not Rustfire as the active 4-cost.

Conclusion

The new 3.5 Echo and Sonata Set options push specific playstyles much harder, especially for characters who can properly trigger their set conditions. Yangyang: Xuanling, Suisui, Jingran, and Qingxiao each benefit from different mechanics, so choosing the right Echo setup early can save a lot of farming time and make your builds feel smoother once Version 3.5 goes live.
