WuWa Version 3.3 is finally here, bringing the 2nd Anniversary celebration and Hiyuki—the white-haired miko swordswoman who happens to be the first premium Glacio main DPS since Carlotta dropped over a year ago. While everyone’s talking about her flashy dual-form combat and those gorgeous Iai slashes, there’s one question that really matters before she drops on April 30, 2026: which sword are you going to give her?

Let’s break down everything you need to know about Hiyuki’s weapon options—what makes Frostburn exceptional, when it’s absolutely worth pulling, and which alternatives can still let her dominate the Tower of Adversity.

Hiyuki Overview

Hiyuki is a 5-Star Glacio Sword user who functions as a Resonance Liberation-focused Main DPS . Her core gameplay loop revolves around two stances—Present Self and Foreclaimed Self—with a resource system built around Dedication, Frostheart, and Snowforged Blade stacks . In Foreclaimed Self, nearly all her attacks count as Resonance Liberation DMG, which means any weapon that buffs Liberation damage directly amplifies the bulk of her output.

Hiyuki

She also applies Glacio Chafe stacks to enemies. These can be converted into Glacio Bite by teammates, and when Bite stacks reach 10, Hiyuki detonates them with Frostbind for massive burst damage . Her signature weapon Frostburn is explicitly designed to supercharge this entire interaction chain.

Here are her key damage scaling priorities:

  • Crit stats (she gets substantial innate Crit Rate from her kit and best Echo set)
  • Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus
  • Glacio DMG Bonus
  • ATK%
  • DEF ignore/shred (rare and highly valuable)

With that understood, let’s look at every viable sword ranked from best-in-slot to budget options.

Best Weapon: Frostburn

Frostburn is Hiyuki’s signature 5-star sword, and it’s not even close—this weapon was purpose-built to amplify every mechanic in her kit.

Frostburn

Frostburn

Base ATK | 588

Crit Rate | 24.3%

The passive reads like a checklist of everything Hiyuki wants :

- ATK increased by 12%

- When the wielder applies Glacio Chafe, Glacio DMG is Amplified by 28% (duration: 20s)

- Resonance Liberation DMG ignores 10% of the target‘s DEF (duration: 20s)

- If the wielder is the active Resonator, all Glacio Chafe DMG dealt to nearby targets is Amplified by 20% (duration: 6s, triggers once every 0.1s)

The synergy here runs deep. Hiyuki applies Glacio Chafe constantly—her Basic Attack Stage 3 in Present Self applies it, her Foreclaimed Self Stages 3-5 each apply it, and Foreclaiming: Inward Vision applies 4 stacks on hit . So that 28% Glacio DMG amplification has effectively permanent uptime.

The 10% DEF ignore on Resonance Liberation DMG is massive because Hiyuki’s entire Foreclaimed Self kit counts as Liberation damage. We’re talking about her 5-hit Basic Attack string, Heavy Attack, Mid-Air Attacks, Dodge Counter—all of it pierces enemy defense.

The 20% team Glacio Chafe DMG amplification is the hidden gem here. When Hiyuki is on-field, ALL Glacio Chafe damage dealt by anyone in the party gets amplified. That means Lynae’s coordinated attacks, future Lucilla’s sub-DPS output, and even the Glacio Bite detonations all benefit.

Verdict: Best-in-slot by a substantial margin. If you’re committed to Hiyuki and can afford the weapon banner, Frostburn is the single biggest upgrade you can give her.

When to pull: After securing S0 Hiyuki. The weapon provides more overall value than early Resonance Chains, though S2 eventually overtakes it for quality-of-life improvements.

5-Star Alternatives

2nd Place: Red Spring

 Red Spring

Red Spring is a limited 5-star sword that’s appeared on previous banners. It packs double Crit stats and a strong Basic Attack DMG passive. While it doesn’t have Frostburn’s Glacio-specific amplification or DEF shred, the raw stat stick value keeps Hiyuki’s personal damage competitive. If you already own Red Spring from a prior banner, you can comfortably skip the weapon banner without feeling crippled .

3rd Place: Emerald of Genesis

Emerald of Genesis

This is the standard banner 5-star sword—accessible to anyone who’s been playing long enough to accumulate Standard Tides. It offers 24.4% Crit Rate (nearly identical to Frostburn’s) and a respectable ATK% boost tied to Resonance Skill usage. It won’t match the ceiling of Frostburn or Red Spring, but for a “free” option, it performs admirably. Many F2P players will find this is their practical best choice .

4th Place: Blazing Brilliance

Blazing Brilliance

Blazing Brilliance provides a massive 48.6% Crit DMG secondary stat, which sounds appealing on paper. However, its passive focuses on Resonance Skill DMG stacking—and Hiyuki’s damage profile is overwhelmingly weighted toward Resonance Liberation. She only uses her Resonance Skill occasionally for grouping and buff activation. If you have no other 5-star options, use it for the Crit DMG stat stick, but don’t pull for it specifically.

Best 4-Star Option

Feather Edge

For players who don’t own any of the above 5-stars, Feather Edge is the budget king.

Available through the Battle Pass, Feather Edge provides 20.25% Crit Rate at max level—incredibly valuable on a character who wants to stack Crit DMG everywhere else. Its passive (at R5) grants 7.2% ATK and 10.8% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus for 15 seconds after casting Resonance Liberation . Since Hiyuki uses her Liberation constantly as part of her stance-switching loop, this buff enjoys high uptime.

At R5, Feather Edge can surprisingly hold its own against R1 standard 5-star options. If you buy the Battle Pass anyway, slowly refining this sword over multiple patches gives you a genuinely competitive weapon without touching the gacha.

Other 4-Star Considerations

Fables of Wisdom (R5):

Fables of Wisdom (R5): Provides up to 16% ATK increase when hitting enemies with Negative Statuses. Since Glacio Chafe counts as a negative status, this has theoretical synergy. However, the lack of Crit stats holds it back significantly compared to Feather Edge.

Weapon Priority: A Practical Pull Guide

Based on my experience building characters in WuWa and analyzing Hiyuki‘s kit, here’s how I’d prioritize your resources:

Priority

Target

Astrite Cost (Hard Pity)

Notes

1st

S0 Hiyuki

~25,600

Unlocks the character and all core mechanics

2nd

Frostburn

~12,800

Biggest single DPS increase over alternatives

3rd

S2 Hiyuki

~51,200 additional

Transforms overworld gameplay with continuous Iai

4th

S3+ Hiyuki

Variable

Whale territory—massive power spike at S3

Important note: the community consensus I’ve seen emphasizes that S2 > Weapon if you must choose. Why? S2’s 140% Iai multiplier increase and out-of-combat Frostheart recovery completely change how Hiyuki feels to play. Instead of building resources before each fight, you chain Iai slashes continuously in the overworld. Frostburn gives bigger numbers, but S2 gives you the definitive Hiyuki experience.

That said, if you can stretch to S0 + Frostburn, you’re getting the competitive baseline. With anniversary rewards providing approximately 40-50 free pulls, many dedicated savers will hit this mark.

Should You Pull Frostburn?

Pull Frostburn if:

- You’re committed to Hiyuki as your long-term Glacio main DPS

- You plan to build the full premium Glacio team (Hiyuki + Lucilla + Chisa)

- You already have S0 Hiyuki and want the biggest single upgrade

- You have enough Astrite saved (factoring in anniversary rewards)

Skip Frostburn if:

- You already own Red Spring or Emerald of Genesis and are satisfied with strong (not maximum) performance

- You’re F2P and S0 Hiyuki drained your savings—S2 provides better gameplay feel

- You’re saving for Denia (Phase 2) or Lucilla (3.4) and need to prioritize

My personal recommendation: If I could only choose one investment path, I’d go S0 Hiyuki, skip Frostburn (use Emerald of Genesis), save for S2. The S2 gameplay transformation is that significant. But if you want Hiyuki at her absolute peak performance and visuals, Frostburn is the sword she was designed to wield—and it shows in every frame of those gorgeous Iai animations.

Good luck with your pulls, Rovers.
