Flins Lunar-Charged and Hyperbloom Combination

Many players’ Flins are still struggling with his limited burst rotation as he can only use two bursts per cycle, which causes poor target-switching and weak multi-target performance.

However, LDShop observed that the existence of thunderclouds from the Lunar-Charged reaction does not require continuous Hydro and Electro coexistence. Let’s dive deeper into how the Lunar-Charged mechanic perfectly combines with Hyperbloom to unlock Flins’ full potential.

Mechanism Breakdown

Lunar-Charged

  • A reaction that triggers when an enemy is affected by either Electro or Hydro with Ineffa in your team.
  • Then, it creates a Thundercloud that continuously releases bursts of lightning that deal Electro DMG to Electro-Charged targets.

Strengths:

  • Can deal CRIT DMG to enemies.
  • DMG scales off the Elemental Mastery stat.
  • Make sure you balance Elemental Mastery and CRIT stats for optimal Lunar-Charged DMG.
  • Can ignore enemy DEF and cannot be affected by DMG bonuses.
  • DMG buffs from characters like Furina and Yelan do not increase Lunar-Charged DMG.

Hyperbloom

  • A reaction that happens when Dendro Cores created from Bloom are hit with Electro.
  • These cores then turn into Sprawing Shots, which home on the nearby enemies to deal an increased Dendro damage in a comparatively smaller AoE.

Strengths:

  • Exceptional scaling and independent damage
  • Reliable auto-tracking behaviour benefits from consistent Electro triggers
  • Hyperbloom delivers bursts where Electro-Charged provides flow, which is the perfect complementary dynamic.

The Thundercloud Reaction

Beyond Hydro-Electro Coexistence

  • The Lunar-Charged Thundercloud can remain active even without the continuous coexistence of Hydro and Electro elements.
  • After being formed, the Thundercloud continues to exist on its own, unaffected by any current elemental auras.
  • Whether the enemy later gets hit by Pyro, Cryo or even physical damage, the Thundercloud remains active for its full duration.
  • The better thing is that both Flins’ and Innefa’s talents only rely on the existence of the thundercloud, rather than on active Hydro-Electro reactions.
  • This means you no longer need to keep reapplying Hydro, nor worry about losing damage when the enemy’s elemental status changes.
  • If the Thundercloud is active, Flins can unleash his full Lunar Charge Burst DMG.
  • During the 6-second gap before his next Burst, use his Electro-infused normal attack to trigger Hyperbloom and Aggravate reactions.

The Aggravate Reaction

Flins’ Hyberbloom Synergy

  • Flins’ main weakness lies in her poor target-switching and crowd control.
  • He is specifically built around Lunar-Charged and is thus gated to this team comp and its variations.
  • However, high damage multipliers on Lunar-Charged procs as well as consistent procs allow Flins’ damage to skyrocket beyond most Elemental Reaction-based teams.
  • These traits make them ideal for Aggravate and Hyperbloom reactions. Flins’ Elemental Mastery stat can further boost this Electro damage increase.
  • It allows him otherwise low-damage normal attacks to trigger Hyperbloom explosions and Aggravate damage, effectively turning what used to be “wasted” attacks into major DPS sources.
  • At the same time, Lunar-Charged, Hyperbloom, and Aggravate all scale with Elemental Mastery.

Flins’ Hyperbloom

  • Flins conveniently has a talent that converts ATK into Elemental Mastery, meaning his EM stat is naturally high. This makes him a multi-reaction DPS capable of stacking reaction damage efficiently across multiple triggers per rotation.
  • Hyperbloom serves as the ideal extension of Flins’s kit. His normal attacks have low multipliers, and his kit heavily relies on players triggering the reaction.
  • He also needs synergistic Nod-Krai characters that can activate the rest of his kit through Ineffa and/or Aino.
  • Flins' entire kit is built around Lunar-Charged and using him for other reactions like Overload is not recommended, as it disables half of his kit and severely reduced his overall damage potential.

Conclusion

The Lunar-Charged and Hyperbloom setup isn’t a gimmick, but a peak of Flins’s design. He no longer relies on constant Hydro uptime, instead excelling in fast, explosive reaction cycles where Thunderclouds, Seeds, and Aggravate effects merge into one storm of damage.

With natural Elemental Mastery scaling and synergy with top Dendro and Hydro supports, Flins turns precision and creativity into power. Mastering him means learning the rhythm of the storm, involving summon of the cloud, sparkling the bloom, and letting the thunder strike.
