Nilou Skill Kit Details & Leveling Priority
Nilou skill kit focuses mainly on her ability to enable the entire team to create special Bountiful Cores with her talent, which triggers when the entire team is filled with Dendro and Hydro Element characters.
Nilou’s main gimmick lies in her Skill and Talent, with her Skill allowing her to perform a 3 step dances, dealing Hydro Elemental damage to enemies proportional to her own Max HP and with the 3rd step of the dance providing the active character with a special Hydro Aura that can apply the Hydro mark on enemies. When allies in the party only consist of Hydro and Dendro characters, Nilou will additionally grant the party the special Golden Chalice's Bounty effect, which boost the team’s Elemental Mastery and allow the team to create Bountiful Cores. Bountiful Cores are Dendro Cores that explode much faster and deal extra Dendro Elemental Damage to enemies proportional to Nilou’s Max HP when they explode, making them the upgraded version of the normal Bloom Elemental Reaction.
Nilou’s Elemental Burst allow her to deal an instance of Hydro damage to all enemies and apply a special Hydro mark on enemies that periodically apply the Hydro Mark on enemies, making it easier for the team to create Bountiful Cores with the Bloom Elemental Reaction when she is not on the field.
Due to the fact that Nilou’s main strong point lies in her Elemental Skill and Ascension Talent, Players should Prioritize Leveling Up Her Elemental Skill First and Foremost and Unlock Her Ascension Talents As Soon As Possible. The rest of her skill kit can be leveled gradually if players want to maximize Nilou’s own damage output, otherwise, they don’t need to be leveled.

Best Weapons & Artifact Builds
Nilou Recommended Weapons
As a Main Hydro DPS option for Bloom-centric thanks to her powerful bountiful cores effects, Nilou’s skill kit mainly scales off 2 stats: Max HP and Elemental Mastery.
Due to this, Nilou wants weapons that boost Elemental Mastery to boost the Bloom Reaction Damage output and weapons that boost her Max HP to help boost the damage output of Bountiful cores even further and keep her alive on the field longer.
The best in slot weapon for Nilou is of course, her signature weapon:

Nilou Best Artifact Sets
For Nilou, her best artifact set is the Vourukasha's Glow
set, which boost Nilou’s Max HP stat and grants her a massive damage boost for her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, which further boost the damage output of her team even when she is off the field. If players don’t want to boost the damage output of Nilou herself, you can mismatch between a 2 pcs Vourukasha's Glow and 2 pcs Tenacity of the Millelith.

Constellation Priorities
Nilou Recommended Constellations
C1 - Dance of the Waning Moon
Nilou’s 1st Constellation boost her damage output as well as improve her overall rotation by extending her effect duration, helping to improve the overall team damage output by producing much stronger and longer bountiful cores.
Rating: Highly Recommended (A Strong Improvement to Nilou and the team’s overall damage output)
C2 - The Starry Skies Their Flowers Rain
Nilou’s 2nd Constellation helps to reduce both the enemies’ Hydro and Dendro resistances by a massive amount when Nilou does her normal combo and when the team initiates Bloom or Lunar-bloom Reaction, helping to massively improve the overall damage output of the team. This Constellation is extremely crucial in various Bloom teams as it is one of the few ways to straight up reduce enemies’ resistances to boost all allies’ damage output.
Rating: Most Recommended (Massively improves the entire team’s damage output simply by doing Nilou’s normal combo, allowing Nilou-centric teams to perform exceptionally well)
C4 - Fricative Pulse
Nilou’s 4th Constellation allows Nilou to recover 15 energy whenever her combo finishes hitting the enemy and improves the damage output of Nilou’s combo. This Constellation helps to improve Nilou’s rotation and her own damage output.
Rating: Highly Recommended (Improves Nilou’s rotation and reduce her energy regen requirements as well as help to boost Nilou’s own damage output)
C6 - Frostbreaker's Melody
Nilou’s 6th constellation boosts Nilou’s critical rate and critical damage proportional to her max HP, allowing her to gain an extra 30% critical rate and 60% critical damage. This Constellation is made for players who want to use Nilou as the team’s Main On-field DPS, with her attacks being able to deal critical damage easier with these effects that can easily be fulfilled by building Nilou with high Max HP as per usual.
Rating: Highly Recommended (Makes Nilou into a main on field DPS character and helps provide her with free stat boosts).
Nilou Constellations VS Signature Weapon Pulling Priorities
In terms of pulling investment for Nilou and the balance between getting her Constellations and her signature weapon, there are certain considerations players should make:
- Nilou’s weapon is a very strong generic Sword weapon that can work on any Max HP scaling Sword user and is one of the best weapons in the game, and having it massively boost Nilou’s abilities.
- Nilou’s main constellation that players should aim for is her C2, which massively boost the team’s damage output by reducing enemies’ resistances. While other constellations are strong, it only serves to boost Nilou’s own damage output and doesn’t affect the entire team that much overall.
Therefore, with these considerations, players should invest in Nilou in this order:
C0 + R0 |
C0 + R1 |
C2 + R1 |
C6 + R1 |
C6 + R5 |

Best Team Recommendations
As Nilou is one of the main component to Genshin Impact’s Bloom Elemental Reaction team and her Talent requiring all party members to be of the Hydro or Dendro Element, her team options are quite limited in nature, with her teammates mainly consisting of characters that can help facilitate the Bloom Elemental Reaction and boost the team’s Bloom Reaction Damage output. Some of Nilou’s best teams are:
Nilou Bloom Elemental Reaction Teams
Nilou Bloom Elemental Reaction Teams are Nilou’s main teams as she is the premium enabler for the Bloom Elemental Reaction. There are several variety for this kind of teams, with various Dendro and Hydro characters being included to help boost the overall damage output of the team by creating Bountiful Cores:
- Critical Bloom Team:
|
|
|
|
Nilou |
Kokomi |
||
Sub DPS/ Hydro Enabler |
Main DPS |
Support/ Dendro Enabler |
Sustain |
The Critical Bloom team takes advantage of Lauma’s special Talent when there’s only 1 Nod-Krai character in the team, allowing her to turn all Bloom damage, which normally can’t deal critical damage, to damage with a fixed critical rate. This massively boost the damage output of the Bountiful Cores created by Nilou and help skyrockets the overall damage output of the Bloom Elemental Reaction. Nahida serves as the team’s Dendro Enabler with her strong and long lasting off field Dendro Mark and her potential C2 which boost the critical damage of Dendro-related Elemental Reactions even further. Nilou serves as the team’s off field Hydro enabler and helps Lauma to create Bountiful Cores when she is on field with her Dendro infused normal attacks. Finally Kokomi serves as the team’s main sustain option with her strong off field Hydro application and strong heals.
- Normal Bloom Team

Nilou |
Kaveh |
Nahida |
|
Sub DPS/ Hydro Enabler |
Main DPS |
Support/ Dendro Enabler |
Sub DPS/ Hydro Enabler |
This team is the normal Dendro Bloom team, with Kaveh serving as the team's main on field DPS option that can instantly detonate all Cores on the field with his skill. Nilou, Nahida and Yelan serve as off field elemental enablers for Kaveh to create as many Bountiful Cores when he is on field as possible with his normal attacks to maximize the team’s damage output.
- Nilou F2P Bloom Team
|
|
|
|
Nilou |
Kaveh |
Yao Yao |
Xingqiu |
Sub DPS/ Hydro Enabler |
Main DPS |
Sustain/ Dendro Enabler |
Sub DPS/ Hydro Enabler |
Functions similarly to the Nilou Normal Bloom Team, the Nilou F2P team substitute Nahida with a decently good off field Dendro Enabler and Sustain option in the form of Yao Yao and replace Yelan with Xingqiu for the same Hydro Application effect that triggers whenever Kaveh uses his Normal Attack while on field to create as many Bountiful Cores as possible.
Conclusion
We hope that with the help of this guide, players will have a better understanding of the best Nilou builds, skills, constellations and teams in order to fully unleash her potential in the world of Genshin Impact.
