Rank

Top10:Serval

Rarity: 4-star|Type: Lightning

Serval feels like a mix between Erudition and DoT — she can deal direct Lightning damage and also apply Shock status. However, she's not particularly strong in either aspect, which is why she’s not very popular.

She had some opportunities to appear when the Pure Fiction mode was introduced, but those opportunities didn’t last long. Now, she has mostly fallen out of use and is rarely seen in teams.

Top9:Qingque

Rarity: 4-starType: Quantum

Qingque acts like a destruction path character, relying on enhanced normal attack's spread damage to deal damage—earning her the nickname “Little Imbibitor Lunae”.

When Huahuo first debuted, Qingque was highly effective and once stood as the strongest quantum Main Carry. However, as subsequent powerful Main Carries were continuously updated, players no longer needed to rely on luck for 4-star Main Carries. Nowadays, Qingque has become relatively unpopular.

Top8:Himeko

Rarity: 5-star|Type: Fire

Himeko features powerful multi-target capabilities through her Ultimate and Follow-Up Attacks, making her a solid pick for Pure Fiction and even a viable option in Break Effect team. The”Himeko + Herta” combo was once dominant in Pure Fiction, known for its incredible wave-clearing potential.

However, Himeko’s Follow-Up Attack only triggers upon Weakness Break, which makes her highly dependent on enemies having Fire Weakness. This greatly limits her flexibility across various combat scenarios.

With the release of The Herta, Himeko has largely fallen out of the meta spotlight. While she can still be brought out in certain situations, her popularity and usage have dropped significantly.

Top7:Herta

IMG_256

Rarity: 4-star|Type: Ice

Herta is currently the undisputed 4-star MVP.Her Skill, Ultimate, and Follow-Up Attack all deal AoE damage, making her extremely effective in Pure Fiction where waves of enemies constantly spawn. In this game mode, her Follow-Up Attack can trigger frequently, allowing her to outperform even some 5-star characters in wave-clearing efficiency.

Outside of Pure Fiction, Herta can still be slotted into The Herta-centric Erudition teams to provide supplemental AoE damage and help stack Crimson Knot (Anaxa's "Script Reading" stacks). She's one of the rare 4-star units who can serve as a core team member across multiple game modes, not just as filler or support.

Top6:Argenti

IMG_256

Rarity: 5-star|Type: Physical

Argenti is an Ultimate-focused Erudition character who relies on a dual-stage Ultimate for damage output. His first-stage Ultimate excels at clearing waves of mobs, while the second-stage Ultimate adds some single-target burst, giving him limited flexibility.

However, due to the lack of any unique combat mechanics in his kit, Argenti has remained a relatively niche pick in most game modes. He was once the king of Pure Fiction, able to wipe out waves of enemies back-to-back with his Ultimate. But as enemy HP pools increased in newer stages, Argenti now needs solid temporary buffs, as well as high investment in both himself and his support units, to maintain effectiveness.

Outside of Pure Fiction, his single-target performance is underwhelming, making him a less optimal choice for content like Memory of Chaos or boss-heavy encounters. While still flashy and satisfying to use, Argenti currently sits in a more specialized role than a generalist DPS.

Top5:Jing Yuan

IMG_256

Rarity: 5-star|Type: Lightning

Jing Yuan is the limited 5★ Erudition DPS of Version 1.0.

His kit revolves around stacking Lightning-Lord hits through his own actions and then unleashing powerful follow-up attacks via Lightning-Lord. However, because the timing of the Lightning-Lord’s action cannot be directly controlled, Jing Yuan was often criticized for being inconsistent and clunky, especially in earlier stages of the game.

That all changed with the release of Sunday, whose kit is almost tailor-made for Jing Yuan. He greatly increases Energy Regeneration, enabling faster Ultimate cycling. His Action Advance allows Lightning-Lord to act immediately, solving the issue of delayed burst damage.

Combined with Jing Yuan's already solid multipliers and scaling, these synergies have revitalized his position in the meta. In the current version, Jing Yuan has made a strong comeback and is now considered a top-tier AoE DPS when paired with the right support.

Top4:Jade

IMG_256

Rarity: 5-star|Type: Quantum

Jade is a high-performing Erudition character who can flex between Main DPS and Sub-DPS roles. She currently shines the most as a Sub-DPS in Herta (5★) teams, where her damage and utility are impressive. However, since there are already several strong Sub-DPS options for Erudition-based teams, Jade isn't necessarily a must-pull for most players—whether you have her or not, you'll likely feel satisfied with your investment.

Unlike Herta (4★), who struggles to consistently trigger her follow-up attacks outside of Pure Fiction due to enemies having higher HP and staying above the 50% threshold, Jade has no such limitation. As long as it's a multi-target scenario, she can consistently trigger high-frequency follow-up attacks, making her an even stronger Sub-DPS pick for 5★ The Herta teams across a wider range of content.

Top3:Rappa

IMG_256

Rarity: 5-star|Type:Imaginary

Rappa is an Erudition-path Super Break Main DPS who excels in multi-target scenarios, boasting top-tier AoE performance.
Her only real drawback is that her team lacks innate Imaginary Weakness implanting capabilities, which makes her somewhat environment-dependent. Still, Rappa remains one of the strongest AoE Main DPS characters in the current meta.

While initially underestimated upon release, Rappa has proven to be a breakout star in Version 3.0. Like 5★The Herta’s Skill and Ultimate feature strong hybrid multipliers for both AoE and single-target damage, , especially in Pure Fiction and in Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster or Memory of Chaos, where bosses often summon four adds.

Possibly due to Mydei being an Imaginary-type boss, recent Apocalyptic Shadow (Gold and Gears) stages almost always feature at least one route with enemies weak to Imaginary. This has allowed Ruan Mei to consistently shine as one of the best-performing legacy Main DPS characters in the current meta.

Previously, players would worry that when encountering enemies with non-imaginary weaknesses, Rappa would lose power in defeating them. In the recent "Chasing Light and Picking Gold" gameplay, there is always one enemy with a dummy number weakness, making Rappa the best-performing veteran main C.

Top2:Anaxa

IMG_256

Rarity: 5-star|Type: Wind

Anaxa's positioning is similar to Jade's, serving as both a main and sub-DPS. In terms of mechanics, he boasts impressive AoE performance while also having specialized mechanisms for single-target damage. Additionally, Anaxa has flexible self-buffs, offering different bonuses based on whether there's one or two Erudition characters, which provides good flexibility.

Anaxa acts as a sub-DPS for the Herta team. Other sub-DPS characters for the Herta team excel in AoE environments, but Herta herself is already strong enough in AoE and doesn't really need further enhancement. Anaxa's advantage lies in being a rare Erudition character who specializes in single-target damage and can apply weaknesses to enemies. This fills a relative gap for The Herta when facing three or fewer enemies. In single-target scenarios, Anaxa can also be used as a solo DPS, with high damage and Toughness reduction from her dual skill. If your budget allows, it's recommended to pull for her to strengthen The Herta's single-target bossing capabilities.

Top1:The Herta

IMG_256

Rarity: 5-star|Type: Ice

As one of the most groundbreaking main DPS characters, The Herta is undeniably the strongest character in terms of Erudition path. The arrival of her has completely redefined the double Erudition team system, providing the entire team with an 80% Crit DMG bonus. Not only is she a top-tier support, but her personal damage output is also excellent, capable of both AoE and single-target damage. Currently, The Herta-led Erudition teams dominate across all content.

Her damage stacking mechanic is unmatched in Pure Fiction, while Anaxa enables frequent Weakness buff. The pure DoT team (The Herta + Anaxa + Tribbie + Lingsha) has seen a qualitative leap in cross-element enforcement capabilities. The only slight drawback is in Memory of Chaos where single-target boss fights can be challenging, requiring her to be used within a set team comp.

The Herta absolutely crushes all three Treasures Lightward modes, and daily farming runs are a breeze with her. In Simulated Universe, she might not be the best boss killer, but she melts mobs in the early stages, letting you get Blessings fast. Even when you’re just exploring, she helps you sniff out treasure chests.

No matter the game mode, The Herta fits right in — whether it’s farming, bossing, or just chilling and collecting loot. If you pulled her, congrats — you hit the jackpot!
