Yixuan or Astra Yao? Zenless Zone Zero 2.0 Pulling Plan

ZZZ version 2.0 is just around the corner. In this excited anniversary version, we're going to get three new characters from Yunkui Summit, Yixuan, Ju Fufu and Pan Yin Hu.

Along with them, we have reruns of fan favorites like Astra Yao and Caesar.

How many pulls in ZZZ 2.0

Version 2.0 runs from June 6th to July 16th, lasting six weeks, offering a variety of rewards from dailies and new events. Here are the total pulls we can get.

• Free to Play: 21,530 Polychrome + 26 Encrypted Master Tape ≈ 161 pulls (107 pulls in the first half + 54 pulls in the second half).
• Monthly Pass: 25,490 Polychrome + 26 Encrypted Master Tape ≈ 185 pulls (119 pulls in the first half + 66 pulls in the second half).
• Monthly Pass + New Eridu City Fund: 26,270 Polychrome + 30 Encrypted Master Tape ≈ 194 pulls (124 pulls in the first half + 70 pulls in the second half).

First Half Banner Recommendations

New Character: Yixuan

Weapon: Rupture Element: Auric Ink

Pull Priority：Top Tier (Ture DMG main DPS)

Core Mechanic: Shear Force Damage + High Mobility, designed to excel in both single-target and AoE damage scenarios.

Yixuan debuts as ZZZ’s first Rupture agent, with a combat style reminiscent of Attack-types — prioritizing CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. Her standout feature is Shear Force damage, a unique mechanic that ignores enemy defenses, making her especially potent against tanky foes.

With high mobility, flight capabilities, and a dual-ultimate system, she excels at maneuvering across dynamic battlefields. Moreover, since her damage scales with HP, she pairs well with supports who boost both survivability and offensive potential.

Pull Recommendations：

For most Proxies, Yixuan is definitely worth pulling. She’s powerful enough to carry you through content with ease. And as the first Rupture main DPS, she brings a unique playstyle to the table. If your resources allow, it’s definitely fun and worthwhile to experiment with different types of main DPS.

• F2P Players: If you got Astra Yao, prioritize M0S1 Yixuan since Yixuan lack of Permanent S-Rank W-Engine.
• Beginners: Yixuan is a great pick for who want a powerful DPS character with unique mechanics. She will be a strong asset as you progress through the game.
• Resource-Limited Players: If you need to choose between Yixuan and Astra Yao, consider your current team setup. If you already have a strong support lineup, Yixuan can be a great addition to boost your damage output. However, if you lack support characters, you might want to prioritize Astra first.
• Whales: For max performance, pulling for M1 or M2 can significantly boost her potential, with M2 giving major benefits to boost her DMG to next level. M6 is also a great mindscape which can increase the Shear Force DMG by 20%.

Mindscape & W-Engine Analysis:

• M1: Upon entering battle, Yixuan immediately stack up full Talisman Value, allowing immediate use of her Ultimate and CRIT Rate increase 10%. M1 mainly improves her skill rotation, providing a solid and reliable upgrade to her overall performance.
• M2: Ignores 15% of the Ether-RES when using Ult and EX Special Attack and extends all enemies’ Stunned state by 3%, boots Yixuan’s overall DMG output both on stats and mechanics.
• M6: Gain additional chance to unleash Ult and boost Shear Force DMG by 20%.
• Signature W-Engine: "Qingming Birdcage" Huge CRIT Rate boost, Qingming Companion effect stacks up to 2 times and each increase Ether DMG by 8% and Shear Force DMG by 10%.

New Character: Pan Yin Hu

Weapon: Defense Element: Physical

Pull Priority：Recommended for Yixuan Team (BIS Yixuan Support)

Core Mechanic: Give Shear Force boost based on Panda’s Attack and make his debuff duration longer.

Pull Recommendations：

As a A-Rank agent, Pan Yin Hu is the only Shear Force Support and he is not that hard to get. Proxies who want to pair Yixuan with her best team need to build her with Panda can pull for M0 Panda.

Rerun Character: Astra Yao

Weapon: Support Type: Ether

Pull priority: Top tier (Best Support)

Core Mechanic: Team-wide healing + ATK/ DMG/ CRIT DMG buffs

Astra Yao is an incredibly flexible support character designed to enhance any team with her powerful buffs and healing capabilities. Her ability to provide significant damage and CRIT damage buffs to the entire team, along with her healing ultimate, makes her an essential addition to any lineup.

Her core mechanics directly increase the effectiveness of any DPS character by 20%–25% through damage and CRIT damage buffs, making her a cornerstone of many high-performing teams.

Pull Recommendations:

She is 100% must pull since she’s very flexible and you can literally put her in any team.

• F2P Players / Beginners: Prioritize M0S0 Astra Yao is enough.
• Whales: Go for M1, which reduces all-attribute RES by 6%, stacks up to 3 times, and gains 1000 Decibels immediately when enter the battlefield. M1 can improve Astra Yao performance, increase team’s overall damage output.

Mindscape & W-Engine Analysis:

• M1: Reduces 6% RES + 1000 Decibels.
• M2: 19% ATK increased for Core Passive.
• Signature W-Engine: "Elegant Vanity" 30% ATK + 10% damage increase for squad if Astra consumed 25% of her energy, not much buffs for Astra, not recommended to pull.

 

Second Half Banner Recommendations

New Character: Ju Fufu

Weapon: Stun Type: Fire

Pull Priority: Recommended (Fire Stunner with Team buffs)

Ju Fufu offers universal team support with buffs to all allies' RES, ATK, and Decibels, making her more flexible than Lighter, who only supports Ice and Fire DPS. As an off-field stun unit, she can consistently build stun without occupying field time, similar to Trigger.

Her broad compatibility and synergy with Rupture characters like Yixuan position her as a valuable addition to future meta teams.

Pull Recommendations:

• F2P Players: Pull for M0S0 Ju Fufu if you want to build Yixuan to the best with her premium team or if you lack of Stunner.
• Beginners: Low priority. Focus on securing a primary DPS first or better support like Astra Yao.
• Whales: M1 Ju Fufu increase 12% CRIT Rate, 35% Stun DMG Multiplier and gain 100 Might.

Rerun Character: Caesar

Path: Defense Type: Physical

Pull Priority: Pullable

As a top-tier support comparable to Astra Yao, Caesar’s main strength lies in the powerful shields he provides, enabling high damage output while still offering competitive buff values. He also fits seamlessly into nearly any team without much thought.

Pull Recommendation:

While his mechanics are a bit less refined than Astra Yao's, in Zenless Zone Zero where at least three teams are needed, Caesar still holds a high priority for investment.

However, with the arrival of Yixuan—who forms her own dedicated team—and Astra Yao anchoring another, Caesar is now more likely to serve as the third-team support. This slightly reduces his overall flexibility and necessity compared to before. If you got enough resources, you can pull for M0S0 Caesar for your third team setup.

 

Conclusion

All four featured characters in version 2.0 were previously considered near must-pulls in earlier patches, offering a strong balance of power, versatility, and value. With all them appearing in the same version, Proxies need to make trade-offs.
