Phainon is said to be a 5-star Physical Destruction Path main DPS character, specializing in fast actions and frequent turns to deal damage. He has a unique Ultimate charging mechanic similar to Acheron and Castorice, where the charge rate depends on how many single-target buffs he receives.

Nameless hero █████, the Chrysos Heir carrying the Coreflame of "Worldbearing", you must memorize the ideals of all worlds, carry the fate of multitudes, and bring the first light of dawn to the new world.

His secret text is: “Have you seen it? The dawn of Omphalos has arrived.”

Phainon’s Leaked Skill Kit Details

According to r’s leaks:

Basic ATK:

• Deals Physical DMG equal to % of Phainon's ATK to a single target enemy, gains 1 point of [Memory].

Skill：

• Deals Physical DMG equal to % of Phainon's ATK to one designated enemy, and Physical DMG equal to % of Phainon's ATK to its adjacent targets, gains 2 point(s) of [Memory].

Talent：

• How to Obtain：
  • When another ally use their ability targeting Phainon and inflicts a buff on Phainon, Phainon gains 1 point of [Memory].
  • When hit by an enemy, Phainon gains 1 point of [Memory]. 
  • [Memory] →Max 15 points.
• Buff：
  • When gaining [Memory], Phainon's Crit DMG increases by %, lasting for 2 turns.
  • When reaching 12 points of [Memory], Phainon can use his Ultimate.

Ultimate：

• Consumes 12 points of [Memory], enter the Territory "The Chronosruin lrontomb" transforming into □□□□□, Obtains 4 "Ruin".
• During the transform state:
  • lmmune to crowd control debuffs
  • Increases own ATK by %
  • Increases Max HP by %
  • Reduces DMG taken by %
  • All skills deals an extra Toughness reduction of own Type
  • All self buffs extend by 1 turn All other allies leave the field

Territory "the Chronosruin lrontomb"：

• While in Territory
  • All enemies gain a Physical Weakness.
  • Phainon gains 8 special turns inserted into the action order
• After all special turns end:
  • Exit the Territory and transformation
  • Allies return to battle
  • All allies' SPD increases by %, lasting 1 turn
• The interval between special turns is fixed at ? Action Value. Buff/Debuff durations do not decrease during special turns.
• During the Territory duration, Ruin replaces Skill points as the resource for using abilities. The gain and consumption of Ruin work the same as Skill Points.

Enhanced Basic ATK：

• Deals Physical DMG equal to % of ATK to a single enemy and % to adjacent target, obtains 2 "Ruin" marks.
• While in Territory "the Chronosruin lrontomb", the "Ruin" marks are used instead of skill points.
• Consuming and obtaining "Ruin" marks is considered equivalent to consuming and obtaining skill points.

Enhanced Skilt 1：

• lmmediately forces all enemies to act, obtains "Ruin" marks equal to the number of Enemies.
• Restores HP equal to % of Max HP and dispels all debuffs.
• Gains "Counter" status until next special turn

• DMG dealt by the wearer ignores % of the target's DEF
• When using Ultimate:
  • The wearer receives the [Lost] effect, which increases Skill and Ultimate DMG dealt by %
  • When the wearer is hit, immediately restores HP equal to %of the wearer's Max HP, until the start of the next turn.

 

Phainon Bonus Trace

• T1：
  • When Phainon enters battle or enters his Territory “the Chronos ruinlron tomb," ATK increases by %, stacks up to 2 times, lasts 2 turns.
• T2：
  • When receiving healing or shields from allies, Phainon's DMG increases by %, lasts 2turns.
• T3：
  • When other allies regenerate Energy for Phainon, gains 1 point of [Memory].
  • This effect can be triggered up to 1 time(s) each turn, and it resets at the start of Phainon's turn

 

Phainon Eidolons’ Description

• E1:
  • While in the Territory, Physical RES PEN increases by %. When exiting the Territory, all allies recover ? Energy.
• E2:
  • In transforming state, Phainon's DMG increases to % of original value. lf Enhanced Skill2 consumes 4“Ruin" marks, gains an extra turn after attacking.
• E4:
  • Counter DMG from Enhanced Skill 1 gains an additional % multiplier.
• E6:
  • While in the Territory and after attacks enemies, additionally deals True DMG equal to %of the total DMG of this attack to target that has the highest HP among the targets attacked. After exiting the Territory, gains ?point(s) of [Memory].

 

Phainon Relic and Ornament

Ornament：

Dusky Dawn Cliff 2P Increases ATK by 12%. When the wearer takes action consecutively 2/3 times, increases their CRIT Rate by 12%/16% until the end of the current turn.

The upcoming Dusky Dawn Cliff from Version 3.4 is ornament prepared for Phainon.

Phainon already has many ATK-boosting effects in his own kit. With his Relic set and Ornament, his total ATK bonus can reach around 60%. If you also pair him with ATK support characters, the ATK boost will overflow and become less effective.

However, this Ornament helps fix Phainon’s low CRIT Rate. As long as Phainon uses his Ultimate once, the effect lasts for 8 turns, making it easy to fully stack the CRIT Rate bonus.

The main issue is that Phainon’s ATK is already very high, so he becomes heavily reliant on Sunday to make full use of his kit.

Relic：

Wavestrider Captain 2P 16% CRIT DMG bonus 。 4P When the wearer becomes the target of another ally target's ability, gains 1 stack of "Help" (Max→2) If there are 2 stack(s) of "Help" when the wearer uses their Ultimate, consumes all "Help" to increase the wearer's ATK by 48% for 1 turn(s).

Wavestrider Captain is a new Relic set coming in version 3.3.

According to leaks, if this Relic set is Phainon’s signature set, then Sunday is very likely to be Phainon’s main support character in the team.

 

Phainon’s Team Synergy

There are two main team comps for Phainon, and Team 1 is currently considered the most efficient.

• Team 1: Phainon + Dan Heng SP + Cerydra + Sunday
• Team 2: Phainon + Tribbie + Robin + Sunday

In Team 1, Phainon is the main DPS. Cerydra (coming in version 3.5) is expected to be the strongest single-target support based on current leaks. Sunday gives Action Advance and buffs to Dan Heng SP, and Dan Heng SP summons the little dragon for Phainon. The dragon’s stats scale from Dan Heng SP’s stats. At the same time, Dan Heng SP also fills the sustain role. This team synergy could be the strongest team after Castorice’s era.

However, since Dan Heng SP will only appear in version 3.6, it will take time to fully build Team 1. While waiting, Team 2 can likely be used right after testing starts. Trailblazers just need to prepare your tickets in advance.

 

 

Hidden Easter Egg?

It’s worth noting that when Phainon was teased, the official reveal deliberately hid 5 characters. These hidden letters might be Phainon’s real name — Kevin.

Some Trailblazers may not know who Kevin – the ​"savior hero"​ and leader of the ​Thirteen Knights of Ashen Moth​ from Honkai 3 and is known as the “Savior Hero.” He was the strongest human warrior in the previous civilization. This background is very similar to Phainon’s.

Also, key terms like “Flame-Chaser” and “Savior” are closely connected to Kevin. Because of this, many players believe Phainon might be Kevin’s counterpart in HSR.

In the poster, there’s even a figure standing behind Phainon, which some think could be Kevin.
