The wait is finally over! Qiuyuan, the first male character revealed since Brant in Version 2.1, is stepping into the spotlight. With a martial-arts-inspired design, groundbreaking Echo skill buffs, and teamwide crit damage support, Qiuyuan isn't just another sub-DPS — he's set to redefine how you approach team synergy in Wuthering Waves. V1 → V7 Changes 

Dodge Counter

Added a new mechanic — within a certain time after Basic/Heavy Attack, if QiuYuan is hit,  instead of 100% damage reduction, it gives full immunity to the next hit and auto-triggers a dodge counter, boosting survivability and tempo. 

👉 Increased from 83.51% → 194.84%

Passive – “Bamboo’s Shade”

team Echo Skill DMG bonus raised from 20% → 30%, increasing Qiuyuan’s support value.

Resonance Skill 

“Through the Groves” now grants full interruption immunity while active (no more slowdown when hit), greatly improving reliability in crowds.

👉 Changes: 

• Main skill damage: 143.68% → 71.84%

• Dash multipliers: 84.94%+28.32%+342.47% → 32.33%+32.33%+86.21%
  → Overall damage numbers reduced, but mobility significantly enhanced.

Resonance Chain

Sword Sheathed, Mind Unclouded

Qiuyuan gains interruption immunity while casting Thus Spoke the Blade: To Teach, To Save, To Sacrifice (effect extended).

👉 Gains 20% Crit. Rate (increased from 15%).

O Blade, I, Who Teach No Longer

Emerald Sentence’s Shade grants 30% Echo Skill DMG Amplification only to nearby active Resonators.

👉 Change: Support range narrowed from entire team → nearby active members only.

O Blade, I, who Save No Longer

👉 Changes:

adds leave-field bonus damage, an enhanced combo route, and a stronger Outro Skill for more flexibility and threat.

O Blade, I, Who Sacrifice No Longer

Qiuyuan’s ATK increased by 20%.

👉 Change: Extreme multiplier buff removed, replaced with flat ATK% → overall nerf.

O Blade, I, Who Await to be Wielded

Qiuyuan ignores 15% of target’s DEF when dealing damage.

👉 Change: DEF ignore reduced from 20% → 15% → nerf.

Thus I Heard, Thus I Saw, Thus I Spoke

👉 Overhauled: replaces vortex with periodic DoT, grants a short-duration +100% Crit DMG, and extends Stagnation from 3s → 5s (now triggered by Heavy Attack: “To Sacrifice” instead of Basic Attack stage 4). 

Qiuyuan’s kit shifted from burst-heavy and team-oriented in Version 1 to a nerfed but more self-sustained and rotation-friendly design in Version 5, with reduced team support, toned-down multipliers, and added energy/rotation mechanics.

Skill Attributes LV10

Qiuyuan’s overall multipliers were boosted, with Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 4, and all three special skills (To Teach, To Save, To Sacrifice) receiving significant increases, while Stage 3 saw a slight reduction. The biggest change is that To Teach, To Save, and To Sacrifice shifted from providing Concerto Regen to dealing direct damage, with much higher scaling. Resonance Liberation, however, remains unchanged.

Resonance Liberation

from Version 1 to Version 7, Sundering Strike received a significant damage boost while keeping the same cooldown and energy cost. However, its teamwide Crit DMG buff was scaled back to only apply to nearby active Resonators, shifting the skill’s role from broad team support to a more situational, limited utility.

Signature Weapon

Emerald Sentence shifted from a broad team-oriented passive to a more self-focused buff with conditional team support. The Heavy Attack bonus tied to Bamboo Cleaver became the main focus, requiring Echo Skills for stacking and maintenance, while the teamwide buff was restricted to a temporary Intro-triggered Echo Skill DMG bonus. This change reduces its always-on team utility but strengthens Qiuyuan’s own sustained output and rotation synergy.

Qiuyuan is a Sub-DPS (secondary damage dealer) with a focus on sustained personal output rather than broad team buffs. Earlier designs emphasized high burst damage and teamwide support, but his current kit has shifted toward a more self-contained style. He can still contribute consistent Echo Skill damage, but most of his utility is now tied to his own performance instead of boosting allies.

The core of Qiuyuan’s gameplay strategy is maintaining steady damage through Echo Skills and rotations. His Crit Rate boost helps his consistency, while added energy refund mechanics let him cycle his skills more smoothly. Instead of providing large teamwide buffs, he specializes in continuous, reliable damage and efficient rotations, making him more of a sustained sub-DPS than a short-burst buffer.

Qiuyuan's Signature Weapon

Emerald Sentence

Attack: 587 Critical hit: 24.3 Attack buff: 12%

Emerald Sentence is Qiuyuan’s signature weapon, designed to balance personal damage and team support. Its passive increases Heavy Attack DMG by 40% after casting an Echo Skill, and when the wielder triggers an Outro Skill, all teammates’ Echo Skills gain a 20% DMG Bonus. This design perfectly aligns with Qiuyuan’s mechanics, empowering both his own sustained output and his team’s overall performance.

Basic Attack
Perform up to 3 consecutive attacks, dealing Aero DMG.

Heavy Attack
Consume STA to attack the target, dealing Aero DMG.Press Normal Attack right after performing the attack to perform Basic Attack Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash Stage 4.

Mid-air Attack
Consume STA to perform Plunging Attack, dealing Aero DMG.

Dodge Counter

Press Normal Attack right after a successful Dodge to attack thetarget,dealing Aero DMG, considered Heavy Attack.Within a certain period of time after Basic Attack or HeavyAttack</color, Qiuyuan reduces the next instance of DMG hetakes by 100% and casts <color=Highlight>Dodge Counter uponbeing attacked, dealing Aero DMG.

Resonance Skill: Through the Groves

Press Resonance Skill to dash forward for a distance, dealing Aero DMG, considered as Echo Skill DMG. If Resonance Skill is cast upon being attacked by an enemy target, Qiuyuan becomes immune to this instance of DMG and stagnates nearby enemies, while gaining immunity to interruption during this Resonance Skill.

Switching to other Resonators removes the Stagnation effect from enemies.

Undaunted Wayfarer
Hold Resonance Skill to dash forward for a distance at the cost of STA, dealing Aero DMG to the target, considered as Echo Skill DMG.

If there are no targets nearby, Qiuyuan will leap up and dash through the air by continuously consuming STA until it runs out. Release Resonance Skill to immediately end the dash and land. If there are targets nearby when Qiuyuan lands, deal Aero DMG to nearby targets, considered as Echo Skill DMG. This skill can be cast in mid-air.

Resonance Liberation: Sundering Strike

Deal Aero DMG to the targets within the range. For every 1% of Qiuyuan's Crit. Rate over 50%, this skill increases the Crit. DMG of all Resonators in the team by 2% for 30 seconds, maxed at 30%.

Inherent Skill

Quietude Within

Qiuyuan obtains Quietude Within for 10s upon entering the Inksplash of Mind state. This effect can be triggered once every 22s.

Heavy Attack Thus Spoke the Blade: To Teach, Thus Spoke the Blade: To Save, and Thus Spoke the Blade: To Sacrifice deal 50% more DMG. Thus Spoke the Blade: To Sacrifice additionally restores 30 points of Concerto Energy on hit.- This effect ends early when Qiuyuan is switched off the field. 

Drink Away the Sentiment

When casting Echo Skill, Qiuyuan's bamboo flask absorbs the overflowing energy and brews it into Flowing Panacea.

The next time Swordster's Soliloquy is obtained, the Flowing Panacea is consumed to gain 10% ATK increase for 20s.

Attack the target, dealing Aero DMG, considered as Heavy Attack DMG.
Within a certain period of time after casting this skill, press Normal Attack to perform Basic Attack Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash Stage 3.

Strike the Weak Spot

Attack the target, dealing Aero DMG equal to 100% of Qiuyuan's ATK, considered as Echo Skill DMG.
Grant 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification to the incoming Resonator, lasting for 14s or until the Resonator is switched out.

When Qiuyuan reaches 200 points of Swordster's Soliloquy, his Basic Attack is replaced with Basic Attack Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash, which chains together up to 4 consecutive strikes, dealing Aero DMG, considered as Heavy Attack DMG.

Bamboo's Shade 
When Qiuyuan reaches 400 points of Swordster's Soliloquy, he gains the Bamboo's Shade effect, granting all nearby active Resonators in the team 30% Echo Skill DMG Bonus for 30s. 

Inkverse of Spirit
When Swordster's Soliloquy is full, Qiuyuan enters the Inksplash of Mind state for 8s, during which Heavy Attack is replaced with Heavy Attack Thus Spoke the Blade: To Save.

In this state, hold Normal Attack to consume Swordster's Soliloquy to perform Heavy Attack Thus Spoke the Blade: To Teach, Thus Spoke the Blade: To Save, and Thus Spoke the Blade: To Sacrifice in order, dealing Aero DMG, considered as Heavy Attack DMG.

• Performing Thus Spoke the Blade: To Teach, Thus Spoke the Blade: To Save, or Thus Spoke the Blade: To Sacrifice is considered as performing Echo Skill.
• Inksplash of Mind ends when Swordster's Soliloquy is used up.

Qiuyuan can hold up to 600 points of Swordster's Soliloquy.

• 100 points of Swordster's Soliloquy is obtained when performing Basic Attack Stage 3.

	Bamboo's Shade now grants an additional 30% Echo Skill DMG Amplification to all nearby active Resonators in the team.
O Blade, I, Who Save No More
	The DMG Multiplier of Resonance Liberation Sundering Strike is increased by 500%. If Concerto Energy is full when not in the Inksplash of Mind state, Qiuyuan's Resonance Skill is replaced with Resonance Skill Straw Cape in Drizzly Rain, available once every 20s. Upon casting Straw Cape in Drizzly Rain, the Quietude Within effect immediately ends and 60 Concerto Energy is consumed to deal Aero DMG equal to 500% of Qiuyuan's ATK, considered Echo Skill DMG, and restore 400 points of Swordster's Soliloquy. The next Basic Attack is replaced with Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash Stage 3. Upon casting Straw Cape in Drizzly Rain, Qiuyuan cannot gain the Quietude Within effect the next time he enters Inksplash of Mind. Thus Spoke the Blade: To Teach, Thus Spoke the Blade: To Save, and Thus Spoke the Blade: To Sacrifice gain 600% DMG Multiplier increase and additionally restore 30 points of Concerto Energy on hit. When not in Co-op mode, upon casting Straw Cape in Drizzly Rain, the next Outro Skill is replaced with Outro Skill Sheath Fallen, New Shoots Revealed, which deals Aero DMG equal to 500% of Qiuyuan's ATK, considered Echo Skill DMG.

	Qiuyuan now ignores 15% of the target's DEF when dealing damage.
Thus I Heard, Thus I Saw, Thus I Spoke
	Casting Heavy Attack Thus Spoke the Blade: To Sacrifice stagnates nearby targets for 5s or until the targets are damaged or until Qiuyuan is switched off the field. This effect is not available in the Co-op Mode. When Qiuyuan is the active Resonator in the team, upon exiting Inksplash of Mind, he deals Aero DMG equal to 600% of his ATK to all targets within range, considered Echo Skill DMG. Casting Resonance Skill Straw Cape in Drizzly Rain increases Qiuyuan's Crit. DMG by 100% for 6s. Switching to another Resonator ends this effect early.
